18V Cordless 1/4 in. Impact Driver with 18V Lithium-Ion 1.5 Ah Battery

I am very impressed with this impact driver. You can drive a 3.5 inch wood screw through the wide part of a 2x4 super quick and without pre-drilling (why you would need to drive a screw that far through a 2x4 I don't know, but the fact remains that it can do it easily). The driver is durable and quite powerful. I put this to the test installing furring strips onto cinderblock. This driver made it quick and easy. The only draw back is the fact it doesn't come with a battery. Luckily I have Ridgid tools and have a battery to use. Other than that, this impact driver is amazing.

RIDGID 18V Cordless 1/4 in. Impact Driver (Tool Only) is a good quality unit, that buying on its own to replace a unit, or add a tool to your inventory is great. This is a bear bones item. There are no batteries, no chargers, no belt clips, no tool clips, though you do receive a Philips chuck. This is an 18 volt 1/4 impact driver. It's motor produces 1850 in-lbs of torque, and the motor produces speeds 33% faster. The tool feels good in either hand. It is equipped with an LED light to illuminate the work surface. The tool will work with any RIGID 18 volt system battery. This tool is NOT brush less. Like all RIGID tools, this comes with the LIFETIME SERVICE AGREEMENT. Just register your tool for protection. This is a good tool. The quality is there and is the fit and finish. It would be a good addition to anyone's tool inventory. I rate this tool 4*s out of 5. I dinged it because while it came with a chuck, it did not come with the belt clip or the bit clip to attach to the tool. That should have been included, not a separate purchase. The quality rating is 5*s out of 5. The tool is awesome in its performance and the quality is beyond reproach. Thank you RIGID for allowing me to try your product. RIDGID 18V CORDLESS 1/4 IN. IMPACT DRIVER (TOOL ONLY) I own over 25 different Ridgid power tools. This impact driver is the R86002. I also own the R86036 and the R86037. I will compare the R86037 and the R86002(B). They are both orange and black. The 18v batteries all work. It appears that Ridgid is changing the branding image (not for the better). This drive does not have the three speed adjuster-- not even a two speed. It did not come with the belt-hanger-- which I like. As this motor has brushes- it creates visible sparks and sounds grindy. The work body is also longer. The torque is considerably less. There is no bit holder. The quick change chuck is as good as the other. The LED light is under the pinky which strikes me as not the best location. The overall cost is about $30 less. This also is included with one of the multi-tool-kits. Given the lack of the multi-speed setting, this will not be a go-to driver for me, but will be useful in general construction. My advice is to step up and get a high priced Ridgid model if this will be your only driver.

I like how it fits comfortably in my hand and its extreme power. Generally, a slight touch of the trigger is all you need unless you are driving a long screw or bolt. It comes with a ¼ inch Phillips-head bit. Changing bits is quick and easy with the hex chuck. It has a very bright LED light to help in poor lighting conditions. It is compatible with other 18V Rigid tools and batteries, so it fit perfectly with the batteries I already had. It comes with the standard Rigid lifetime service agreement, so long as you register it within 90 days of purchase. It’s much more powerful than the one I was using, so I am very pleased with this product.

I’ve had RIDGID tools for many years. And it’s pretty cool to see how they’re coming out with this new line but it still works with the batteries which is even better. Now first things first I was a little surprised to see the design they came out with. The design is much simpler than the GEN 5X. The light is located in the same spot. But the design just feels a lot simpler. GEN 5X just had a different look to it. This impact is definitely bigger than the previous model. It’s just longer but height wise it’s the same. The thing that did impress me is the power and torque. This is the brushed model and RIDGID isn’t playing around with its power. It’s got a serious punch to it and definitely feels more powerful than the previous model. I tried it with the octane batteries and the regular ones and it feels the same which is good in my opinion so I don’t have to carry around specific batteries. I drove in lag bolts that were 5 inches long no problem. If anything the only issue I had was the bit I had ended up breaking from the torque. I had no issues with any bits popping out no matter what the strain. I noticed they got rid of the light button that was under the trigger in the previous model. But the light can turn on by itself by squeezing the trigger lightly. I wish the bare tool would come with a belt clip because the previous models came with one. It’s a great impact it definitely gets the job done it’s just different from the previous model. The things that have changed are mostly aesthetic. The price range is also great because whether you’re a pro or a do it yourself or RIDGID will work for anybody. I gave it a high rating because it gets the job done. I do wish it had the settings and other features but when it comes to getting the job done it does it. It does have a variable speed trigger and it functions really nice. Since it doesn’t have those different settings the variable speed trigger helps a lot for more sensitive applications. It does feel very well-made it should last a long time as all my other rigid tools all still work after all these years.

I recently ordered and received the RIDGID 18V ¼ inch Impact Driver. I ordered the “tool only” as I have several 18V RIDGID batteries from some of my other RIDGID tools and these are interchangeable. As I mentioned, I have several RIDGID tools and there are several reasons for this. RIDGID makes a good quality tool that for the average DIY individual may be the last tool you will ever need to buy due to their LSA (Lifetime Service Agreement). In my opinion, there is no other warranty program that comes close. Not only does it include free service and repair for covered tools, it also includes free battery replacements! The only catch is that you must register your tool with RIDGID within 90 days after purchase. The impact driver is perfect for around the house projects. I recently built board and batten shutters for our house and I used the impact driver to drive tapcons into our concrete block home (after pre-drilling pilot holes with my RIDGID hammer drill). The impact driver worked flawlessly. It is compact, powerful, has a light to illuminate your work area and is quite ergonomic. All in all, I am sold on the RIDGID brand. Is it the toughest brand on the market? Probably not when compared to Milwaukee, but RIDGID is close and it’s the only brand I know of that has free repair and/or replacement of the tool and batteries for LIFE… I very highly recommend this tool. I’ve been using my cordless drill as both screwdriver and drill - it has been inconvenient doing projects this way and takes extra time. I got this Rigid cordless impact driver for my screwdriver and am very happy with it. It is quite powerful but the smooth variable speed makes it quite usable. The locking bayonet Mount makes changing bits easy and secure. Great ergonomics for the grip as well.

This Rigid 18 volt Cordless 1/4 inch Impact Driver is one fantastic tool! Ergonomically it fits in my hand great. It has 1850 inch pounds of torque, so it drives self tappers in really tight. At 2800 rpms it can drive slot of screws in a short period if time. Able to change the bits fast with a quarter inch hex chuck. Really like the lifetime service agreement parts and service makes this one great deal.

Rigid…. 18 Volt Cordless ¼ in. Impact Driver, This Impact Driver is powerful at 1,850n in./lbs. of torque, and a faster driving speed of 2,800 RPM and 3,600 IPM, I especially like the variable speed, which is incorporated into the trigger, the built in LED is especially handy in any situation. it is a great addition to my growing cordless tool collection, the free parts and service lifetime service agreement with registration is amazing. Although it did not come with a battery it is not a problem, this tool is compatible with all Rigids18 volt line of batteries. A driving bit is included. This impact driver is well constructed and built to last.

This impact driver is a replacement from my old one that fell of off a roof and landed on a concrete driveway. I almost cried, the outer case broke and I had to tape it up with electrical tape to make it work, it was on it's last leg, but still performed so this a replacement which I needed badly. Powerful motor for a driver that has brushes, ( this drill is not a brushless driver ) Since I only needed this bare tool I already had the batteries and charger, The photos show a battery in the driver but doesnt come with a battery or a charger. This driver works great just like my old one. The motor delivers 1,850 in./lbs. of torque. Variable speed up to 3,600 RPM's. Forward and reverse direction. Came with a # 2 phillips driver bit. 1/4 inch hex chuck makes bit changes quick and easy. The led light in the base of the driver really does light upward and onto your work. Comes with owners manual, bare tool and bit. Ridgid has a lifetime warranty for free parts such as batteries, parts, service FOR LIFE ! Lifetime service agreement with registration within 90 days of purchase. This is a monster driver with plenty of power along with my other Ridgid 18 volt battery tools. The price is great and you cant beat the warranty. I've had Ridgid for over 20 years , seen them improve over the years ( from Ni Cad to Lithium batteries ) and I think they hold up just as good or better than the yellow and black battery operated hand tools, but at a better price. You cant beat the warranty. Had a few batteries that wouldnt charge and a 1/2 inch 18 volt drill that quit for no reason in the past and called Ridgid , mailed back the defective items and received all new items. No questions asked.
