18V Cordless High Pressure Portable Inflator Kit with 2.0 Ah Battery, Charger, and Torch Light

My portable RIDGID battery inflator has never given me a problem, and feels like it’s built to last! Pros: lightweight, portable, lithium ion battery has an indicator on it, so you always know how charged it is, battery keeps its charge for a long time, includes a 12V car adapter, automatically shuts off when tire pressure is reached, inflates almost anything. Cons: 1st bought tool only, buying a separate battery was expensive, WISH IT HAD A CARRYING CASE! I Highly Recommend!

Generally I am not a 5 star person, but in this case it is very deserving. Drove from PA to FL hauling 3 ton enclosed tandem trailer and i infalted all tires (8) up to 40 PSI for the truck and 50 psi for trailer and it took very little time. Temperature dropped a good bit and I had to top off again. Got to the rental at FL and there was a junker with 2 flats in the driveway and I inflated both flats (sitting on rims) with no fuss. Still had 1 bar left on the 2AH battery. Also Ridgid has been exceptionally great with their lifetime warranty. I have a 24V kit that I bought in 2006 and it is still running. When the batteries finally died, they sent me brand new 18v batteries and charger. That kind of commitment to customer support commands loyalty.

First I want to remind everyone flats happen and road service is not always available when needed. I have found over the years you need to be prepared for road problems. This model is one of the best I have used. It's well built, light in weight and gets the job done. Very easy to learn to use, connect to the tire valve and just dial in the correct pressure. Once correct pressure is set it's automatic from that point. A manual mode can also be set if you feel the need to be in control. This inflator can handle any car or SUV tires and also a mid-weight truck tire. The only con I found was a slower inflation time for the bigger tires. Most SUV tires can be inflated in two to four minutes. The unit will give a solid run/fill on a two amp battery pack of four to six standard size tires before needing a recharge. It can be purchase as a complete kit with house charger and car charger. Battery is an extra purchase. I have use this on my own car and saved a couple friends a service call $$ and time.

Ordered 4 kits for Christmas presents for my family. Everyone was impressed, but noticed they were all missing one thing - a bag. Cust. Service agreed it's included in the kit on their website, but can't or won't do anything about it. Calling RIDGID next.

Flashlight is model R8694. I will cover specs, quality, other models and some additional uses i have not seen mentioned here. I will also cover suggestions for next iterations BOTToM LINE Bottom line upfront: excellent simple, reliable tool. Optimal price 20 usd. OK price 30 usd. PERFORMANC The flashlight outputs 300 lumens, which can not be altered or refocused. This means that the tool has minimal settings. None really. This is a double edged sword, as you can not focus or dissipate the beam as needed. As its set right for the middle (17inch diameter daylight circle at 15 feet, with about a 13 feet diameter circle where the light decipates and makes things somewhat visible.) SPECS this model is R8694, 300 lumens. Its predecessor is R8693B, 100 lumens (outside looks the same but less light is outputted, resulting in longer battery life. Specifically it was 48 continuous hours of being on on a 4AH battery if i recall. This is absolutely insane performance without any issues with overheating. It can still be bought as part of a 5Gen 5 tool combo kit (500usd online, 400 in many New England Home depot stores as of Spring 2021) Next model will be smaller, have a rafter hook, and likely have light stream modifications. (Not available as of Spring 2021) OTHER USES Besides jobsite uses are well covered here, it is a useful tool in off hours. Putting a battery on it and your whole family can safely use it if power go out, or if you need to change a tire in the rain. I took it on expeditions with me. Just a battery, no charger. It worked great and i could shine light at basecamp for hours as well as have a droppable light exploring world war 2 fortifications, which i could set down if need be and get closer to object im exploring. People were impressed when i could have it on for what seemed like all night, and still have plenty of charge left as we were packing up to go home. FOR HOME DEPOT I am interested in joining the seed program, as well as get a chance to review products not yet out. SUGGESTION Place a usb port, so it can double up as a phone charger. Add a joint to swivel the head down and up 45 degrees so i could use it as a more effective desklamp in field conditions. CONCLUSIONS FOR FUTURE MODELS Now i bought this tool separate, paid either 20-30 dollars and feel i got a quality product. In retrospect not super competitive price but because i see its strong points, and use them, the importance of a higher price is not a thorn.

I love these products! Hands down not really much to say in the bad sense. Only issues are my own fault. Light weight, durable, this is my second one. The first one I threw at a wall...

I recently purchased the model which included a 2AH battery and basic charger, and it has worked well to quickly top off my car tires for the colder weather. After researching many low cost tire inflators, the primary reason behind the pumps failing, is an intentional design flaw that causes them to fail after a certain amount of run time, (often in the 1.5 to 2 hour range of accumulated run time provided you follow the duty cycle of the tool). The reason for the failure is the use of a basic aluminum cylinder and aluminum piston with no piston rings or other form of buffer. The metal on metal contact eventually wears down the walls and piston head until it reaches a point where instead of being able to pressurize a tire, the air simply escapes around the piston head, at which point the pump will simply run, but it will never inflate the tire. I chose the RIDGID inflator because of its quality pump, and more accurate pressure gauge compared to the other inflators in its price range, based on other reviews, as well as comparing my unit’s pressure reading to a separate tire pressure tester. Another thing to consider is that air contracts as it cools, and the act of compressing air generates a lot of heat, which is why the hose gets so hot on the unit. As the air in the tire cools, the pressure will drop by a tiny amount, thus to measure the accuracy, it is important to let the tire reach ambient temperature before measuring using a separate tool. The inflator itself: Pros: Simple operation, if the target PSI is set to 0 PSI, then it operates in manual mode. Any non-zero number puts it into auto mode where it will inflate until it reaches the specified pressure. The quick connect chuck is the most convenient design I have encountered so far, though it does not grip as tightly as other designs. The included battery and charger work well, and if mainly just topping off your tires (in my case, bringing tires from around 23PSI, to 32PSI), the 2AH battery has more than enough power to do such a task multiple times before a recharge is need. Lifetime warranty on the inflator helps to instill more confidence in the product’s longevity. The included 12V power cable is of good quality, and provides a good alternative power source if you forget to charge the li-ion battery. Cons: The duty cycle rating (5 minutes on and 5 minutes cool down) makes some of the marketing material inaccurate/ impractical. While it is a fast pump and can easily take most average car tires from flat to full in under 5 minutes, larger tires from a pickup truck, will not inflate that fast, thus if you will either have to run it outside of the duty cycle range (running it longer than 5 minutes nonstop), or pausing after 5 minutes to let the unit cool (mainly the hose). If you want to inflate truck tires, I recommend getting a 6 gallon RIDGID 6 gallon air compressor instead, while mains powered, it will inflate a tire exponentially faster, thus making it much more suitable to truck tires. Overall for my needs (dealing with just the tires on a car, and SUV), the pump works extremely well in quickly bringing the tires up to their recommended pressure. As part of the review, I decided to take some different photos, showing details and items that other customer photos tended to not show.

Bought item for kit. Shines brite and is very light. Very handy for all jobs. Handy in my shop.

I am pleased with this new 330 lumen flashlight and can verify that it is significantly brighter than the previous Gen5x model that came with the kit I bought a few years ago. Not being a light specialist, I will say I compared the 2 about 13 feet away from one of my garage walls and this is what I see: PREVIOUS model: the really bright focal point is quite small and narrow (looks like the size of a beach ball), the second ring of light is very faint but is the size of a hula hoop, and the 3rd and final halo circle of light is really large (spanning about 18 feet) but not bright enough to really see much. (Basically, I am meaning that you have to be pointing pretty specifically to see something a half a room away and the largest amount of the light seems a bit wasted) Anyways... NEW 330 Lumen model: the bright center focal point is much larger (and much brighter) and the outer halo circle is a little smaller (at only 12ish feet wide) but it makes the whole light experience much more "even" if that makes sense. A very bright center and some of the wasted light in the previous model is now brought to in and more intentional if that makes sense. (I feel like I am making no sense here) SEE IMAGES BELOW! Anyways, in my dark garage with this new flashlight on I could actually get some work done if the power went out ... but honestly if that happened I would be pulling out my Ridgid Light Canon which is 2,500 Lumens. Either way, this is going to be a great addition for us to take to the beach and also for me to have around the house for my lighting needs.

I have had several brands and types of flashlights over the years and we can always use another one (like tape measures!). After I bought the Ridgid panel LED light I knew they had a great reputation for quality and affordable products. I saw this flashlight and was able to give it a go. At only $20, you cant pass it up. The comfortable grip, one trigger on button, and rotating head are great features for on the job, in the house, or in the shop. It runs forever on the 18v 4,0ah battery!
