Awsome Nailer
I was concerned about the off name brand, no reason...WOW! This is probably the 2nd BEST TOOL I've every BOUGHT! I charged the battery, nice LED indicator of the charge! I drove at least 400 1" 18ga staples on 1/4 charge. About 30 staples didn't penetrate all the way into the wood, due to knots, hitting other nails or hitting the 1" wire mesh I was attaching! Day two, drove another 400 1" 18ga staples through 1/2 plywood, into 2x4...VERY FEW bad staples! WOW!

Nicely made
I got this to use when I rebuild my greenhouse. At least that’s the first project where I need a framing nailer. And since I don’t have any other Rigid cordless tools, I still need to get a couple batteries and a charger. And I’ll also need a bag to keep everything together, including whatever nails I end up buying. I can’t wait to get started on this project and see what other projects I’ll eventually come up with. This is very well-made though I can’t testify to how well it works – yet.

No more air lines
The biggest benefit of this nailer is that its a easy grab when there's no air or electric available. Awesome for structure repairs to our barn. Its a great all around framer at a decent price for diyer's with one of the best warranties around...don't forget to register your tool. For professionals , the 21 degree angle is bulky and not easy to fit tight spaces. This uses the full head plastic collated nails so theres more scrap to pick up, not fun outdoors. And the clips are a quick and easy reload but you do end up with reloading often in comparison to paper loads. The rigid gun is heavy duty and kinda heavy at 11 pounds with the battery in, I wish they were able to get the bulky weight down but it is comparable to a air gun. But keep in mind this tool for sale does not include the battery so you need to provide your own battery and charger, I find the rigid batteries a little more costly than some other but there's usually a package deal online at homedepot.com. I have a few rigid tools and so far the batteries are proving very dependable and long lasting. I know the question will get asked, the one is made in China. Not thrilled about that but Rigid seems to have some good quality control over plus they stand behind their product with warranty. Besides I don't wanna know what it would cost uf made here.

Good alternative to a compressor
First off I'm not a professional framer. However I do a fair bit of framing around the property. Whether it be temporary or building new stuff for the yard, chickens, shop, gardens, etc. I've used quite a few pneumatic guns on habitat for humanity sites and I'm not sure this is a good replacement for those, but definitely a good alternative for the DIY'er like me. The places I use this I often can't bring a compressor. It's too far from electricity. I would have preferred the 30 degree because that's what I'm used to but honestly the 21 degree is fine and hasn't bothered me. I also have a lot of other Ridgid tools and as such I have quite a few batteries. This has already proven to be something I wouldn't want to be without going forward. And with the lifetime warranty I won't have to.

I was looking for a framing nailer, and since I had other RIDGID products that uses the 18V battery, this was the tool of choice for me. No need for air compressors, the battery works just as well, without the hassle of the hose. The sheer size and weight of the tool makes you know that the product was made well. This tool definitely gets the job done quicker and easier!

Super powerful and super easy to use
My Review for RIDGID 18V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 21° 3-1/2 in. Framing Nailer (Tool Only). I was pretty amazed at how easy this is to use. Loading is simple (although the directions leave much to be desired) and the tool really zips. It feels pretty heavy, but it packs a kick, so the weight is helpful. It is very easy to adjust the depth of the nail. The only assembly to the nailer is screwing in one screw for the belt hook.

Super duty
The RIDGID 18V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 21° 3-1/2 in. Framing Nailer is a super duty piece. Very heavy and well made. I strongly suggest using this for commercial use o my. This nailer is more than enough and maybe too much for smaller home jobs. The battery slides in and the nails are easy to load in as well. Can be used for hours before needing a full charge.

Pro or DIYer the TOP RIDGID R098994B 18 Volt 21-degree Framing Nailer
RIDGID R098994B 18 Volt 21-degree Framing Nailer Having put myself through college in the late 60's as a rough framer. I have extensive experience slamming home those 3 1/2" framing nails with a hammer, and later with what seemed like and endless stream of pneumatic framing nailers. So, when I saw Ridgid was coming out with this 18-volt framing nailer I looked up the early reviews. I got a little worried when I heard it had a small magazine. Well, it seems Ridgid must have heard the something or the reviewers had a short-sighted view. When this nailer came it, I already had a fair inventory of 21-degree collated nails with plastic and paper retainers. I found this nailer out of the box took a pair of nail strips without any concern. That is a full 50 nails in the magazine which can get anyone moving in rapid construction. Oh, you might wish for the full 75 nail magazine of a pneumatic nailer if you were working on a stick-built rafter job. The good thing is it would be rare these days to not have trusses and possibly engineered lumber in those trusses and you will not be slamming that expensive building material in place. There really is no one who couldn't get a production job done in a professional manner with a 50-nail magazine. Even if you were doing a stick-built fence a 50-nail magazine is more than sufficient for any professional to work with. Ridgid included everything a professional will appreciate with this nailer. A gripping nose piece for production work, if you’re a “rapid driver” you get positive locating. When you need to toe nail, you get exacting placement. It only takes a second to feed the magazine, and you don't need to pull back and lock the follower to load the gun. The nails slide easily in the magazine and easily pass the follower as you load it. After your nails are stacked in the magazine you pull the follower back and it clears the installed nails. Then you just slide the follower up against the stack and it self-locks to the back of the nails. That intelligent slider makes loading nails faster than ever was able in days gone by. Again, the thought put into the engineering of this new line, makes what and how things "used to be done" a memory in the rearview mirror that actual slowed production down. It sounds like it couldn't be quicker, unless you had to do things the old way and now see the improvements. Looking back from here you really get bowled over with " If I could do then the way I can today ", boy would life had been easier! Believe me when I say, the way this brushless, lighter, easier than hauling a hose, or not having one pouch of cylinders and the other pouch nail strips to load, everything about this nail gun allows an easier day for the Pro or the DIY'er! Thanks, Ridgid for the innovations in every trade and every home repair or upgrade!

Powerful nailer
The RIDGID 18V Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 21° Framing Nailer is a powerhouse. I tested this nailer first using some scrap wood that I had on hand. I loaded two inch nails (the smallest size for this model) into the magazine. Although the nailer was fairly heavy, the recoil wasn't bad at all. One thing that I didn't realize though: Although no air compressor line is needed to be hooked up, the canister inside needs to be refilled with air pressure at some point.

Nice, Robust Nailer, and Good if You Don't Want to Use a Compressor
I have been looking for a framing nailer for a long time, though I tend to use my finish nailer a lot more often than I would have opportunity for a framing nailer. This unit is very heavy and robust, and seems that it will be able to take a pounding during my heavy-DIY work (I am rough on tools and tend to do rather large renovation projects, including framing and drywall, so tools get heavy use). I have a compressor but thought it would be interesting to try to cordless version, especially since I do not do framing too often. I have tried this with the 18V pack I already had, so far so good though the manual recommends a larger Ah rating.
