Q:So Basically this is not a fast charger. Simply a dual charger only, Correct??
My guess is that it's charging amp output is no greater than 4 amps and possibly reduced when charging two batteries simotainously.

Q:I have the Rigid 86095 dual-port charger. If I plug another identical charger into the pass-thru plug from the first to charge 4 batteries simultaneously, will this affect the charging time or create any overload or overheating issues? Or safety issues?

these are fantastic
thus is a fantastic charger. i have 3 of them, 2 of which are built into this charging station deen above. the third is a travel charger for remote work. these things can handle charging 2 9 amp octane batteries in about 2.5 hrs. with the unit i constructed i can charge 7 batteries at once.

Its great quality, fits in case, charged quickly
I'm a HD retail store customer.
The bonus item plus a charger is awesome value. Its great quality has a stable base, charged batteries quickly. I protect it in my Rigid hard case.
It isn't much larger than fancy single battery chargers.

An Improvement Over the Standard Charger
This RIDGID 18V Dual Port Simultaneous Charger is a much better charger than the standard single charger that you get with your Ridgid cordless battery powered tool kits. It allows you to charge two Ridgid 18V batteries at the same time simultaneously. Some other chargers will charge multiple batteries but they do so in a sequential manner meaning that one battery is charged at a time and then when it’s finished the charger moves on to the next battery. This Ridgid charger charges both batteries at the same time independently. That’s a feature that I like. I also like the fact that this unit has a standard AC cord with a pass-through plug instead of the plug-in adapter that the standard chargers feature. It makes it easier to plug into an AC outlet with no worry about blocking adjacent receptacles. With the pass-through plug you can plug another plug into it and free up a receptacle. Batteries are easy to insert and remove and different capacity batteries can be charged. The unit can be mounted to a wall if desired or just placed on your workbench. This charger is very simple to use. Just plug it in and then slide in your battery or batteries. It works very well and is covered by the Ridgid Lifetime Service Agreement.

Anyone who is on the Ridgid 18 Volt platform has been waiting for this charger for a while. When you’re using these batteries, you change them out repeatedly, which means you’ve been spending a lot of time walking back and forth to your charger. When you need to charge these batteries one at a time you spend too much time walking back and forth. Now you can deliver pairs of batteries that will charge in the same time period. In construction just like every other trade out there, your time really is your money. It doesn’t matter whether you’re charging the old standard battery, the Octane batteries or the new Max Output batteries or any combination of these this charger lets you do it simultaneously. Each battery will charge in the same time that it took on a single charger, but both are charged at the same time. This charger will be flying off the shelf once time trades realize that it means it only takes half the time to get that battery back in service.

Fast dual charge is helpful. Wall mount could be better.
This new Ridgid dual charger was able to bring my 2Ah battery from empty to full charge in 38 minutes. Pretty impressive. It can charge both batteries at the same time (I think their old system was sequential). I like how the cord was designed, which allows you to piggy back another device without losing a receptacle (see photo). What I had a problem with was the wall hanging. It has two vertical screw slots in the center of the charger. So when you try to insert or remove a battery it slides the whole charger around. Price wise it’s a bit more expensive than the old model ($109 at time of review), which is still in line with the competition. The older model also had USB ports. This one does not. Overall, works as advertised. No better or worse than others. I say it’s an average or “C” value. Nothing wrong with average.

Very efficient charger that juices two batteries at once, with less counter footprint
Very, very efficient charger that juices two batteries at once, and twice as fast as your old Ridgid charger. There are lots of LED light indicators to let you know the status of your charge, and even a temperature delay if you try to charge a battery that is too hot or cold. Nice. I liked getting rid of two individual slower chargers, to have more counter space using this dual charger. But I see that you can mount this on the wall, if you like. Good product.

Great Charger!
The RIDGID 18V Dual Port Simultaneous Charger is a great item to own for the casual user as well as the pro in a high production environment. The ability to charge 2 batteries at one time is an excellent time saving feature that is twice as fast as previous dual chargers. The power cord is fitted with an innovative pass-through plug, saving valuable outlet space.Unit has keyhole slots on back for wall mounting, and they are space on 4" centers for easy mounting. This charger has a lifetime service agreement if you register it within 90 days of purchase. An excellent addition to my tool shop!

Extremely Handy!
What a great charger to have in the shop! I only have a couple 18V batteries in my shop so far, for my RIGID tools. So when one gets the least bit low, I put it on the charger. And since I often use two RIGID tools when making a lot of projects, I sure don’t want them to go down at the same time. I use my RIGID cordless drill for drilling pocket holes in some projects, and a few minutes later, I use the RIGID cordless hammer drill to run the long Torx screws in. My first try was putting two 18V batteries on the charger when they were down to one bar and they were full charge 4 bars in about 15-20 minutes! Perfect, for taking a lunch break and having your cordless power tools back on the job! And the best part? The charger has a ‘Key Hole Hanger’ made into the back of the charger. If your space is tight in the shop, you can hang it on a wall, anywhere near an outlet. Really handy!

It is a nice compact charger. I do not have any problems with it at all. I like the slim-line light-weight . It fits in my large cargo pocket to and from work sites. Also, it is a fast charging unit for the recharged battery to be charged. It comes with plug in for the outlet, then put the recharged battery to be charged. It does not include battery.
