RIDGID introduces the R97801 18V SubCompact Brushless 2-Tool Combo Kit. The RIDGID Subcompact Brushless lineup pairs powerful brushless motor technology in a compact tool design. This RIDGID Combo Kit features a 1/2 in. drill/driver, 4-mode impact driver, (2) 2.0 Ah batteries, charger and tool bag. The 18V SubCompact Brushless 1/2 in. drill/driver delivers 500 in./lbs. of torque to power through tough applications such as drilling large spade bits through 2x4s. This drill/driver is 15% more compact and 25% lighter weight compared to the 18V Brushless model (R86114), for a lightweight design and heavyweight performance. After giving the RIDGID Brushless 4 mode impact driver and drill a shot, I am really impressed. Of course, the top-notch warranty provided by RIDGID was a deciding factor in my purchase, and the products have certainly lived up to my expectations.
The price-performance ratio of these power tools is truly commendable, and their quality and features meet, if not exceed, market standards. I have hundreds of red and blue power tools from the top brands at Home Depot, but RIDGID is quickly making its way into my tool boxes and tool bags, thanks to its impressive warranty and great performance.
The RIDGID SubCompact Drill/Impact Kit was a joy to unbox. The design of the kit is worth praising; the storage bag may not be built for strenuous daily use, but it is perfect for occasional use around the house.
The compact charger is portable and can also be wall-mounted along with all of the other chargers I have. The 18V batteries are reasonably sized and don't add much weight, but I feel they won't take rough use as well as my batteries with a rubber base.
The controls and switches are well-positioned and seem durable enough for robust use. The various modes allow for versatile tool adjustment to match the task at hand.
The RIDGID tool kit comes equipped with an 18V drill/driver and impact driver, two batteries, a charger, and a storage bag. The drivers are lightweight and compact, running on a 2.0 amp hour lithium battery. The package includes a lifetime service agreement, offering free batteries, parts, and service. Both drivers are lighted, and the batteries feature a charge indicator, proving quite handy during prolonged use. The location of the lights on the base of the tool is a noticeable departure from the head-mounted ones I'm accustomed to on my other drill/drivers and impact drivers. While it certainly illuminates the workspace, it doesn't provide as concentrated a beam to the specific work area as my other tools do. I'm still assessing whether this design choice poses an issue or not - but so far, it hasn't been a problem.
The battery charging time is reasonable, about 2 hours from completely drained on the regular charger. Even faster with the RIDGID 18V 6-Port Sequential Charger. Overall, I would highly recommend these tools for a wide range of home and work applications.

Excellent quality and value on sale.
The Rigid brushless 4 mode impact driver and drill convinced me to try Rigid for the first time. Rigid warranty also helped me decide. Both the Rigid drill and impact driver are great for the price. I will probably purchase better Rigid charger. The included charger plug transformer was slightly warm during use. Both are excellent quality and have great features.
Right now I personally enjoy and use both brands.
I think Rigid will easily become a favorite brand too because of the warranty.

Really do like this RIDGID kit!
I’ll save you some reading and let you know that I’m highly satisfied with this RIDGID SubCompact Drill/Impact Kit. From the moment I opened the box, I almost couldn’t be happier with it. Partly because almost everything I needed, with the exception of electricity and my choice of bits was already in the bag. It’s been several years since I worked in the trades, so this kit is for my DIY, around the house and the times that I’m helping someone out. The design of the entire kit is excellent. The bag may be a little lightweight for daily use in the trades, but it’s perfect for how I use it. The charger is compact enough to keep in the bag or you can wall mount it. The 18V batteries aren’t too heavy or oversized and then there’s the actual Drill and Impact Driver. At least for now, I no kidding get excited when I pull them out of the bag. They’re just incredibly nice tools and they work great. It would be annoying if I tried to cover everything I like about the set, but an example is the drill chuck. It’s got to be one of the nicest that I have ever used, and I’m sure there are at least eight or more different drill chucks that I use around the shop and house. Both of the tools are powerful and they just feel and work well in the hand. My most recent drill/driver is a heavy and enormous 24V tool. Compared to my old tools, you can imagine just how much better this SubCompact size is. It’s also much more maneuverable and these tools are comfortable, very well balanced and capable of some serious work. The controls, buttons and switches are well thought out and seem to be made for some rugged work. There are some electronic modes to select different settings. Those setting actually are useful and I can tell that they are adjusting the tool to match the task. I genuinely could just keep on going on and on with things that I like about these tools, but the bottom line is, from my use, I would absolutely recommend this RIDGID tool kit.

Extremely light, strong and well balanced
I’m using an older Sears model that has lasted many years but it doesn’t hold a screw to these new Ridgid 18v subcompact kit. These are super light, very quiet and has enough power for all the home DIY’er projects that I do around the house. I included a few pictures and short videos to see how quiet they are. Charging system is very quick and simple to use. The charging system is also compact with the battery sitting upright to reduce space needs. Comes with a nice compact storage bag as well to complete your needs. This set of batteries will also fit many other tools and if you register your equipment, then you have confidence that Home Depot stands behind their tools.

Great features
The Ridgid 18 volt brushless subcompact drill and impact driver kit comes with two batteries and a charger. It also comes with a tool holder for each tool and a belt loop for each tool. The tool holders and belt loops have to be installed to each gun. The batteries have a fuel gauge which is convenient when using the tools for an extended time. The size and weight of the drill and impact driver are perfect. The impact driver has a function button where you can change the speed of the tool and go into impact mode. The tools also have a light on them that starts when the trigger is engaged.

A great little combo
I ordered the RIDGID 18V Brushless Subcompact Drill/Impact Kit with (2) 2.0 Ah Batteries, Charger, and Tool Bag so I have what I need to get my work done. These subcompact tools are smaller and very easy to hold on too for long periods of time. They are quality built with more power than I expected to do the job. I replaced some of my fence boards outdoors and the impact driver was perfect for that. I also used the drill to make some holes and hang my storm windows and it also performed very well. The charger charged up a battery in about 2 hours from dead. The drill is about 6 1/8 inches long and about 9 inches tall. The impact is about 5 inches long and about 9 inches tall. They both did a great job for their size and are very easy to carry in the included carry bag. I highly recommend them for the many jobs at home and at work.

Trigger deley
I brought this combo bout 2 months ago only used the impact gun has a problem with the trigger deley then it stops and the led light start flashing like battery’s are dead but they got a full charge anyone else had this problem like this
