Great saw
Very simple to use and high rpm's for quick cuts.
Another reviewer stated that "Battery will not let the blade guard lay flat". This is why its helpful to take a few minutes to read over the operation portion of the user manual, folks. The wheel guard rotates by hand into four different positions to adjust the angle. I attached pictures demonstrating the range between positions one and four.
All in all, it's a versatile, easy to use saw that packs a punch.

Poor Design, Bad.... Worthless Tool.
Engineer / Design Team went to sleep on this one! Never held a Tool !
Battery will not let the blade guard lay flat. By far the worst Ridgid tool I own. Glad it wasn't my 1st... And I own a lot! I owned one of the 1st Makita Mini saws for cutting wall plates for alarms in the 70's. So I brought this one. Don't even want to sell to someone else at a Yard sale!
Does Ridgid need Real Working Craftsman to test their Tools!!!??
Missed on this one!!! Still a Ridgid Guy!

Excellent for it's intended uses. Great to see things being done right.
Seems quite strong for it's size and intended use. The guard swivels to help get it into tighter spaces. Worked great cutting tile and some steel parts. Ill be modifying it into a tiny chop saw. It seems to have tight enough tolerances for my interest, and plenty of blade beyond the motor, unlike all the others I looked at. And, of course...brushless motor. Excellet! The battery moves a bit in its slot, and the hex key (allen wrench) falls out of it's storage spot. Those are the only 2 things that i see weren't thought out well. The plastic feels like a solid quality, and the ergonomics are nice. I like that it's 18 volts also. Milwaukee's version (made by the same group) is M12, which makes the handle stupid fat, because the battery goes up in it. I have that one also, and they're comparable power and quality wise. The M12 is just bulky, and when you are wanting the smallest tool for the job.....

Good Tool for the Right Job
I had a specific need; to make clean cuts through tile already installed on the floor as part of a hardwood flooring repair. The included tile blade did fine. The cut included five 12-inch tiles. Not sure home many more cuts the blade will make but the tool performed fine. Cuts were made dry creating a lot of dust. I kept a shop vac running near the cut which helped.

Battery NOT on the way!
I first thought the design was flawed as the battery was getting in the way. BUT after reading someone else's review, I found out the the entire guard can rotate in 4 different angles up to about 45° to make up for this! Instantly went from a 2* to 5* product! I also hope this helps others because this is a great tool!

This is a slim lithium ion battery at 2 amp hours that powers all Rigid 18V tools and interchangeable with all 18V Rigid slide pack batteries. And with all slim slide pack batteries I get the power I need without the weight and bulk of the older batteries. This battery worked perfectly after being fully charged and powered my tool. What I like the most about Rigid is that their batteries are forward and backwards compatible. This battery seems like it lasted longer than my older Rigid battery - maybe because it was cleaner - LOL.

We got the matching drill which doesn’t come with a battery but got this one to go along with it. We have used the 18 volt lithium ion battery a handful of times around the house and haven’t had to recharge it yet. My husband gives it two thumbs up

It is a nice compact charger. I do not have any problems with it at all. I like the slim-line light-weight . It fits in my large cargo pocket to and from work sites. Also, it is a fast charging unit for the recharged battery to be charged. It comes with plug in for the outlet, then put the recharged battery to be charged. It does not include battery.
