I'll put it to you this way. Mine has fallen out the back of my truck on the freeway, twice. And it's still in one piece. Not once did the lid come off, so all my equipment stayed inside.
Since it has been designed to be used in the construction industry -read: lots of abuse etc.- it should hold up to being tossed around by the handlers at airports. Hope this helps.
Yes, they still do. You buy the cart ($59) and tool box ($39) and you get the organizer ($29) for free. Was offered this past 2018 holiday season.
Yes
Could it be possible that you were looking at the price for the 3-piece stack set ? That price is sometimes listed at $199. The bottom box, by itself, is typically in the $60 range. By the way, I personally went to several stores and compared this box to the competitors and the quality of the Rigid product is, by far, superior to that of the competition. Yes, it is a bit pricier but the overall feel and structural integrity of this box made me choose quality over price.
It will hold most all of the 5X sets. I think it would even hold the 10 piece set. It's a great cart! I love mine.
You'll have to contact RIDGID, to see, but usually they'll send ya another locking bar for the tote.
Can’t see all your question but everything you mention here will fit in this box with room to spare. Mine is packed with drill, hammer drill, a dual charger, fan, several of the newer 5amp batteries and a few misc items. I even bought another one of these boxes to store and carry my meat grinder. It’s a semi commercial grinder with all metal parts so it’s heavy and this box holds and transports the grinder very well. The grinder, grinding wheels, stuffing tubes, meat tray and foot pedal all go in this box. I bought the stack on boxes for both of these to carry additional supplies for various jobs. Hope this helps.
I have this box with several others and when I stack them to the point I can still wheel it around, I have right around 275 lbs. All my 24 volt tools with several batteries are in the bottom and the others consist of fasteners, plumbing fittings and tools plus other miscellaneous tools. I always unlatch these when trying to carry them tho.
they DO go up and down stairs. BUT, my answer to this question is what led me to post my new question. My answer - they are a PAIN to go up and down stairs. they do go up and down, but being that the wheels are solid, they crash against each step, they are not smooth like a hand truck wheel, which is Pneumatic. a Pneumatic wheel would allow for it to be more flexible, and bounce more comfortably, as it landed on each stair. THUS, I've posted a new question, about where to find Pneumatic 7 inch wheels, let's see if anyone answers that question
