This shop vac I purchased is not the battery operated model. As for function, it’s a very good lightweight vacuum if you are in the in home service tech industry.
This shop runs on 10v power - not a battery.

Yes, it has way more power than I expected, even with the filter packed with dirt. We've been super happy with it. If using it for long stints, you definitely want a 4 or 6 Ah battery.
It'll do the job, but be careful where you're doing it. The lack of a diffuser on the exhaust kicks dust up everywhere. I bought mine to use in my basement workshop area, but because it's in the laundry room I almost never use it.
The little vacuum is great. I have used it to suck up water, you need a different filter for that. I've used it for saw dust and drywall dust. For small jobs it's great. For big jobs I have a bigger Ridgid vacuum. The hose that comes with it isn't as long but is very flexible. This vacuum is also great for vacuuming the car. I have had no problems with the vacuum and would buy it again.
Yes totally!
I actually use it to collect sawdust from a table saw, so yes it’s a perfect use for this vacuum.
I would say this machine could be a good choice for you. The pleated paper filter captures sawdust and dirt well. It’s not overly loud and seems well constructed. Only issue you could run into would be the filter filling up if you have a considerable amount of sawdust in which case you would want a larger machine.
Hello BarbY, We appreciate your interest in our product. This vacuum can be a good choice to suck up sawdust. However, we highly recommend upgrading your filter to a 3-layer VF3500 for optimal performance. This filter is available at your local Home Depot or online at https://store.ridgid.com/us/en/vacuum-filters or https://www.homedepot.com/ You may call us at 1-800-474-3443 from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time or send us an email at info@ridgidvacs.com and we'll be glad to assist you. Hi JakeC, Thank you for writing a review. We are sorry to hear about your disappointment with the product. The car nozzle should fit directly onto the nozzle drum without any additional fittings. We suggest checking the diagram in your owner's manual for the correct orientation of the car nozzle. If the issue persists, you have the option to return the vacuum to the Home Depot store within 90 days of purchase, or you may contact Customer Service at 1-800-474-3443 from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time or send us an email at info@ridgidvacs.com and we'll be glad to assist you. Thanks, RIDGID
Obviously I tried both orientations. Its like trying to fit a square peg into a triangular hole. Rigid should double check what they are putting in their packages, and if the problem persists, should fire who responds to these messages and the people who can’t read their own directions or load their packages correctly
According to the description and numerous Q/As at Home Depot, the hose with the car nozzle is supposed to fit into the dustpan hole. If the car nozzle does not fit that dustpan opening, I would send pics to Ridgid support and they can tell you what's up.
It’s just a little fiddly to put in. It has to be inserted at an angle with the included car nozzle, not just the hose.
Hello youname, Thanks for your inquiry about our product. Unfortunately, this WD3050 does not include a blower port, unlike some of our other models. However, the 4-gallon WD4070 could be an excellent fit for your needs, as it does feature a blower port. My sound meter reading was taken 1 foot away from the vac. It was 111 decimals. No way as reported by Ridgid is it 87 decimals!
Hello RARA, Thanks for your inquiry about our product. The noise rating of this vac is 87 decibels with the original hose attached.
