EASY TO INSTALL
Detach the lid and place the motor upside down in the drum. Locate the filter cage.
FILTER SIZE
This filter will fit your vacuum if your filter cage height is 4.5-5.5 inches.
HOW TO INSTALL
Place filter on top. Press down near the center of the filter with both thumbs until the rubber opening of the filter locks in securely.
HOW TO REMOVE
Press one thumb on the plastic tip and simultaneously pull up on the filter from the side tabs.
Washable Filter
Filter can be lightly washed for reuse. Allow filter to dry before using again.

The RIDGID 3-layer pleated paper replacement filter is designed for your RIDGID wet/dry vacuum (3 - 4.5 Gal.s) to capture fine dust and trap particles such as mold, fine powders and cool fireplace ash. The filter can be washed and, if dried properly, reused. Changing shop vac filters often is strongly recommended to increase the vac's performance and to help extend vacuum life as it protects the motor from harmful dust and debris. This product offers one 3-layer fine dust filter that fits RIDGID wet/dry shop vacs 3 Gal. to 4.5 Gal. and should only be used for dry pickup. RIDGID provides other filtration offerings, including VF3600 HEPA Media Filter (sold separately) and VF3700 Wet Filter (sold separately), depending on the job application and type of cleanup mess. Also, value pack sizes (4-count and 8-count) are available to accommodate a variety of project needs. With its patented Qwik Lock feature, the filter simply snaps on or off the vacuum for easy cleaning and to quickly switch filter options.

Finally a Filter that properly fits WD40700 by Rigid
Purchased off-brands that claimed to fit the rigid model WD40700 but they didn't! This filter fit perfectly! Have only used once, so can't review longevity.

Does not fit properly
This is the exact model that my Rigid 4gal says to use, but it will not fit over the cage. I even tried to use silicone grease to lube it, and a large screwdriver to push into place, but as you can see from pics, it just squashes the filter. I tried turning/spinning it and it still would not fit down.

This product works really good when its new. Once the dust gets into the creases it looses its suction. I bang out the dust and reuse it several times. I've purchased about 5 of them in the last 2 months working on a new building. I give it a 3.

It does the job for what it was designed to do.
I do a lot of drywall sanding.I need to to a lot of clean up.
