Built to last, it's constructed of 75,000-PSI tensile strength drop-forged steel for superior durability and has a sturdy forged steel swivel base with dual draw-down bolts. The adjustable swivel base offers increased work areas and allows the vise to securely lock in any position. The steel handle features rubber anti-pinch rings and a high performance, rolled double lead Acme screw. Answer1/2 inch, but I used 3/8 and washers and it worked great. 1 inch washers fit in the gap.

AnswerThe Spec. on this vise says 1/2" mounting holes (3) and I used 1/2"-13UNC x 2" long. The length will depend on the thickness you are mounting it to.

I now own a 4" and two 6" vises. They are an absolute pleasure to work with after using many other types at work over the years. These are unbreakable! Totally adjustable to maintain tightness of the moveable jaw when open and parallel when closed even when clamped tightly at only one end. These are lifelong vises - you will never need to buy another replacement!

Easy to install nice and compact fit my bench perfect! I like that it’s forged steel and it’s guaranteed for life! The price is a little high but it appears to be a quality product and made in Germany.
Very straight forward and basic, but extremely solid and well made. High quality all around.
