General Purpose Blade from Ridgid Tools
I got this new circular saw blade recently to use one a new house flip project. It is a general purpose blade with 18 very sharp carbide teeth. It works well enough on my cordless saw cutting through 2 inch materials and other soft woods and sheets of plywood. If I am careful not to cut into too much metal or nails, it should stay sharp for a long time.

Long lasting, smooth cutting carbide tooth blade
This is a great blade for a hand held circular saw. It cuts wood rapidly and leaves a smooth cut line. The blade comes with a plastic tooth protector strip which is well worth saving. Not only does it protect the teeth from damage when the blade is not in use, it also protects other items when the blade is removed for storage. After extensive use, the blade is still as sharp as new.

      Quality Blade
Full disclosure: I have been provided with a free Rigid brand 18 tooth thin blade for my review. I don’t know anyone who works for the manufacturer and have no affiliation with Rigid Tools. The following review is my honest opinion and has not been influenced by the free sample. My review is based on a comparison to the 24 tooth blade that came with my Milwaukee 18 volt circular saw. My only complaint with the Milwaukee bade was its poor performance ripping 16 foot cedar shiplap. It was extremely slow cutting and somewhat difficult to get a straight edge. This Rigid brand 18 tooth thin kerf blade does appear to cut faster for these long rip cuts. In addition my saw seems to want to follow the pencil line with little effort. I really don’t know if it’s because of the thinner kerf, quality of the blade or the reduced tooth count. For whatever the reason it does seem to rip better through 3/4 inch cedar shiplap. I do like the thin kerf especially when breaking down 4 X 8 sheets of ¼ and ½ inch plywood. Most blades remove about 1/8 inches of material. This thin kerf blade only removes about 1/16 inch. This can be significant by the time I break down an entire 4 X 8 foot sheet. Anything thicker than ½ inch plywood, in my opinion, really requires a full size track saw. This blade runs nice and straight on the thinner sheets with my 18 volt saw and greatly simplifies the process. When it comes to general construction this blade does cut well through 2 x 4’s, but I feel like I’m getting more tear out as the blade exits the cut. This may be due to my technique. So the bottom line for me is that this blade will be reserved for rip cuts and breaking down large sheets for drawer bottoms. I do recommend it for any DYI’er that needs to save that extra 1/16 inch per cut which can add up. I plan to keep my 24 tooth blade on my saw as my primary blade and pull out this thin kerf blade for rips and thin sheet work.

      Solid Saw Blade
Really nice saw blade. The teeth are very sharp. I am glad they shipped it with the plastic guard because I dropped it on my foot when removing it from the package. There really isn't that much detail to give on an item like this. it either fits or it doesn't. It either cuts wells or it doesn't. I have no complaints. I haven't used it for an extended period of time so I cannot give a longevity report on it yet.

      Cutting Loose
I have been a fan of another brand for some time but with acquisition of this Rigid blade, my loyalty might just change. I have a flooring project, just starting, and I needed a blade that would handle different layers without needing to be changed out. This blade was put on my Ryobi cordless saw and performed well. I am very satisfied with its overall performance and would recommend its use to my friends.

Lowest of the Low Entry Points
This is a review of Ridgid's 6.5" 18-tooth, carbide tipped blade. First, let me tell you I've been a big fan of Ridgid's cordless tools for more than eight years. So this blade is an additional blade for my cordless circ saw. But I'm really disappointed with its quality when compared with the myriad of reasonably-priced blades out there. My blade came with no packaging, and no product info other than what's printed on the blade. And what's printed on the blade is minimal; and even that will wear off after a few uses. I suspect it's made in China. I suspect the arbor hole is punched, not machined. I don't know the tooth geometry. I measure the kerf to be 0.072" and the blade body to be 0.042". Obviously this was intended for low-powered saws. I prefer 24-tooth blades. Practical uses: breaking down sheet goods and rough framing.

Works as good as anything I've used
RIDGID 6-1/2 in. Circular Saw Blade, I would consider this a ripping blade used for 2 X 4 type construction lumber. I noticed that the carbide teeth were well spaced and very sharp which helps to cut easily and to clean the waste cuttings away from the blade. I used it for one hour on all kinds of lumber finding no issues with it at all. I was impressed that the coating on the blade which helps it pass through the wood was barley scuffed after an hour of use. The blade stayed sharp and true, I was quite impressed with it.

      A good basic carbide blade
This is a good, basic carbide circular saw blade. It is a true thin kerf Saw blade. The 18 tooth design is a good basic carpentry blade. It cleans itself out easy and still makes a decent cut. This blade is specifically designed for cordless circular saws, but it would work in a corded one as well. It fits my rigid circular saw very well. I did a number of basic cuts on pine boards and it did a good job. With the carbide teeth I expect it to last a long time. It would actually work good for cutting aluminum tubing or sheeting if you need it to.

      Well made, cuts perfectly
Very nice saw blade! Works perfect in my battery powered circular saw. I included a picture of a first cut and it is as smooth as…, as you would ever want. I’m able to make plunge cuts easily, which is often required for roofing work. Being carbide tipped these blades last and last. I have found a business nearby that sharpens these if ever it gets dull, but I’m sure that maybe years away. Be sure you install the blade with the correct rotation, it’s clearly marked on the blade. Also remember the the bolt that holds the blade is a reverse thread bolt, so it’s right to loosen, at least that’s always been my experience. Enjoy many cuts!

      Decent general purpose/ripping blade
This is a decent general purpose/ripping blade. I use it on my battery powered circular saw and found that it makes decent cut for DIYers needs. There are plenty of blades out there but for my needs this fits the bill. With it being a thin kerf blade I know it will work without straining my circular saw motor. I experience no burning or smoking when I cut thru some two bys. The thinner cut line did not wander at all either so I am happy about that. When you look at my photo, hard to tell but each carbide tip leans alternatively and the number of teeth at 18 makes me think its a general purpose and ripping too. Only time will tell how many cuts I can make before it wears down for replacement.
