A:  Yes. The blade will not last as long as when you are cutting thinner ceramic or porcelain tiles.

A:  Mine doesn't touch the table when making regular cuts, it does rub on bevel cuts, but doesn't hinder movement. Might make sure you have followed the assembly instructions correctly. I have had mine for 2 years, but it seems that I had a challenge with the splash guard during assembly.

Q:Interested in buying this saw but I will be using it to cut hexagon porcelain tiles and the research I have done sounds like a lot of the cheaper saws will cause chipping at the end of the cuts . Can I be assured I wil not have that problem with this saw

A:  Hello, Jose - Thank you for your question. If you are cutting a difficult matierial then chipping may happen. The best way to prevent chipping of the material at the end of the cut, use a plunge cut. I hope this helps! Additionally, if you need further support, then a RIDGID Customer Experience Professional is here for you, Monday - Friday from 9 am to 6 pm (EST) when you call or text us at 1.866.539.1710 or through email or live chat when you visit us at https://register.ridgidpower.com/contact. A:  I have cut a lot of porcelain tiles, square and long rectangles and have not had any problems. I would think that your blade choice would have more to do with poor cuts. I can't assure you that you won't have problems because there are too many variables, but I am very happy with the saw.

A:  Hi, I used this equipment from new with the better disc sold separately. I got great clean cuts. To avoid that chip at the end I just slowed down the feed speed, just at the end. Good luck.

A:  This saw is a great value for the money. I cut porcelain and ceramic tile and I never chipped any tile.

Wet saw used for glass tile
Great saw, good price. Cut through glass tile with ease while completing a kitchen backsplash. Had to flush the pump line to the saw a couple times, but understandable when the water got very dirty before changing out the trays water. Overall very happy for the quality and price. Just make sure you get a diamond glass blade or appropriate blade for your job.

                        My home projects
After several days of researching which tile cutter would fit my needs, as a home owner it made sense to buy this model. I installed tile in my garage with no problems to report installation of this unit was easy didn’t have to use the instructions it’s pretty much self explanatory. At first I rented one out from Home Depot tool rental costed me $70, I figured I’m probably gonna use it for at least five days that’s $350 I might as well just buy one.

                          Not great for 24" tiles
This tile overall did a great job. However it claims it will rip a 24" tile which is somewhat misleading. The table is actually too small for the 24" tile and though you can pull it back far enough to accommodate the tile it requires the back wheels be off the track which causes the table to twist resulting in the crooked cut.

Performed well above expectations - a Workhorse
I bought this saw do some tile work around my fireplace and in my bathroom. It worked as expected. A couple of months ago, I put in a very large patio with 2" pavers of various sizes(most were 24"x24"). Initially, I thought I would be using a skill saw with a diamond blade for cutoffs but thought I would try the saw. I cannot say how impressed I have been with the saw: it churned through these heavy 24"x24" pavers (with a diamond blade). This was a huge project and the saw made my life so much easier.

                                Great saw for the money
I'm looking at buying my third one of these. They may not be the absolute best saw you can buy but for the money I don't think you can beat them. I'm a tile setter by trade and I make these saws work hard, every day. I've run pallets upon pallets of tile through each of the first two I've had and they're still operable, just a little worse for the wear. For a little over $300 I just replace them and start fresh. I have no complaints, the first two I had surely don't owe me anything! If I would take a little care to keep the head adjustment screws lubed up and not be throwing the saw around so much going from job to job I'm sure I could get more out of these saws but 2 years of nearly daily use and zero maintenance is pretty good I'd say! If you're a do-it-yourselfer or otherwise looking at just an occasional tile job this saw should last nearly indefinitely and it'll get the job(s) done!
