Customer Reviews

JobMax Ratchet Head (Tool Only) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for around the house use at this point i now have the entire set of accessories for the job max set, these work great for light duty things such as furniture assembly, cutting wood, driving in finish nails, tightening up loose bolts, etc.you would have to be crazy not to want this set, i was a little scared about this investment after reading some of the reviews on here, so i put mine through the test in my work shop. keep in mind it is 12 volts, you are not going to make a piece of furniture from scratch or repair your car with this tool, you wont drive a 3 or 4 inch nail through oak, but for all the small things you may need to do this ratchet and the other accessories are perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great accessory head for the corded JobMax With the corded version of the JobMax the Ratchet Head has PLENTY of power, in fact if you don't watch out when first using it, you can easily twist your wrist while holding on the JobMax when the nut/bolt has stopped turning and the entire tool tries to whip around. And adjustable clutch is really needed to disengage the ratchet when a nut is tight and max torque has been reached, and that is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars . So far, this tool head has worked on everything that I've tried it on, from rusted on 3/8" nuts to 5/16 x 6" lag bolts into 4x4's.

I must say.. it is a quality piece! There is nothing light about it.. very heavy duty and well built (as almost all RIDGID tools are) I have no complaints with this attachment head itself. However, i do worry about breaking the multi tool upper body when breaking a bolt loose. Now, whether or not i should, or shouldn't be breaking bolts loose before pulling the trigger, that's on me, but so far so good! BIG fan of the multi tool itself... Just to let you guys know I own the 18v mode, its a little bulky at the rear, but the battery life is well worth it..! I should have bought this years ago!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kind of nice to have I didn't really need this, since I already have an impact wrench and own a manual ratchet wrench. But I have the rest of the Jobmax system so I figured why not complete it? I have used the ratchet once, but my manual socket wrench would have done the job. I suppose it will come in handy if I ever have a project with lots of bolts to tighten or if I need to tighten something in a spot that's too confined to wield a manual wrench. It seems well built like the rest of the Jobmax, and Rigid, gear. And the lifetime service agreement was easy to acquire online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge time saver! Dont expect this power ratchet or any air ratchet to torque off rusted or torqued fasteners. These types of tools aren't the primary tool used for torquing down bolts to final tightness. This being said, don't expect it to break that same bolt loose either. I come from the rustbelt area. The only power tool I would expect to break a strong (automotive) bolt loose is an impact gun. This tool I was skeptical on given previous reviews. However, I recently changed a power steering pump and water pump on an SHO engine, and this ratchet saved so much time. You can use the body of the tool as a handle to break a fastener loose, then, pull trigger. BTW, I used the 12V version. I had many fine metric bolts to deal with, and without a motor of some kind (no room for impact), it would have taken much longer. After spending 2 days with it, I can say it was a worthy purchase! I wish the direction could be changed by the motor body, but it must be done in the ratchet head. I wish the direction switch was lower profile for better clearance. Also, I feel it's a bit overpriced, based on the design. It does feel quality, for an electric tool. That being said, I would consider it abuse to crank 45+ ft/lbs on it. After the fastener is close, Tighten it with something else. Same for cracking loose. Get a wrench!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Darn Useful Ratchet Head I recently debated adding some air tools and an air setup to my garage. After some back and forth I bought this ratchet head and a Ryobi 18 volt jobplus base and LiIon+ battery. This setup easily does the same work as my air ratchet without most of the setup hassle. I'd gladly write a more detailed review of this excellent product if HD's mobile review site wasn't so difficult to use and type with. Rigid Jobmax head = good. Home depot reviewsite= awful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great improvement This add-on to the Ryobi +One system allows the DIY’er to get into those tight places under the dash and against the fenders to make repairs and installations without having to do it all by hand. It was only with air powered tools that you could get into those tight spaces on an automobiles and trucks. Now you can use the same tool, to get into the tight spaces around plumbing and electrical services around the house, with power assisted tools.
