How much does each package cover? I need to cover about 850 sq feet.

For 850 sq.ft 1st. what size of the tile you're going to install.e.g. 1'X1' or 1'x2' bigger the tile , the lesser stem you need. Because it is relate the number of tiles to be used. You can consult the tile supply people they will provide you the estimation amount of tile will need. then you draw the line with scale on a piece of paper as tile size you choose. On each of the joint you mark a Dot, then you count how many Dot are there, then you will get number of the tile stem require. There is 100 pc per package.

Yes, you can! It has to be T shape spacer.

Since the off set stems are unavailable, can you use others in its place?

I use these all time. When I run out of the “brick stem” I do use the “flat stem”. It doesn’t go quite as fast because when you set the flat stem using a brick pattern, you want the piece equally distributed between the three adjacent tiles. And there are no tabs on the flat stem to use as a guide. The stem has to be in the center of the perpendicular grout line intersection. I always use spacers along with this leveling system.

Why doesn't it give me an option to purchase?

Doing a backsplash in brick pattern for 3x 12 subway tile around 30 square feet- how many spacers are needed?

Asked by Jt December 16, 2019

Answer

Hi JT, Depending in the amount your grout line will be will change the amount of spacers needed. Keep in mind the levelmax is for keeping the tiles level and the smallest grout line. If you need a larger grout line the amount will change. Thanks for your interest. Greg

It truly depends upon how badly cupped the tile are and what condition the substrate is that you are installing over. The amount of spacers and spinners will also be determined by your level of experience installing tile. There is no true answer to this question without knowing those things first. I would be safe and order more, definitely more of the spinner tops and then return the unopened packages after completing your project.

They are deep enough for it, not sure if it would really do anti lippage on that though

I believe you would need more than 300. With the relatively small size of your tile, you probably don't need a leveling system though. I would use a 1/4 inch notched trowel (no larger) to spread your mortar which is going to give you a smooth result if your floor is pretty level.

Maybe these would have worked better if 1) I were an experienced tiler, and 2) I laid all tile in one go. But I am a novice and laid the tile over three separate days (Day1: First run, Day2: All whole tiles, Day3: All tiles that required cuts). If you don't lay all of the tile in one session and you don't remember to place all Spacers in the edges and corners of each tile when the mortar is still wet enough then the next day you can't add them without major trowel digging under the edges and corners of each tile. That was a major hassle leading to scraped knuckles and a lot of frustration. Now that I know what's up when I tile my Master Bath I will use them again and with a little more skill under my belt I think they'll be an advantage to prevent lippage. Another issue is if your mortar squeezes up on the spacer when tightening the top piece you can't see mortar squeezing up. Leading to more scraping. Thankfully I bought diamond cutting wheels for my Dremmel tool so with extreme care I was able to grind away the excess mortar with ease. Just wear a mask! Last hint: Wear heavy boots when kicking the tops off and ONLY kick them straight on the line and not sideways. If you do they'll crack and you'll have to dig them out or like me use a razor and cut the remaining plastic away then use my diamond Dremmel wheel to clean out the area for proper grouting. I know this sounds like a bad review but I actually do think these are a good system to avoid tile lippage with a few of these helpful hints.

Outstanding product. I would not tile without them. This system is very reasonably priced. It spaces each tile uniformly and, at the same time, presses, seats and levels all the tiles at the same height.

I have tried several leveling systems. This one is the best! The only problem is it is not in stock at the store, so, I keep them in my supplies so I won't run out. I re-use the orange tighteners. I keep two boxes of those in supply because I can use that many in one setting. Using the levelers speeds up the process and assures tile stay level as they set.

Great product, only reason for the 4 star is because it's the only leveling system that doesn't come in different spacing sizes. They only have 1/16" and we have done numerous projects requiring 1/8" or 3/16". Otherwise it woyld be a 5 star.

This leveling system is elite. If I would complain about anything it's that the stems are made for 1/16" spacer so if you want anything larger than that you'll need to use spacers in addition
