does this work with the new ridgid R4513 table saw

AnswersI am using mine on a non Ridgid table saw. As long as the table saw has a steel top it will work. The feather board uses magnets to hold it in place. It works great for me on a non Ridgid table saw.

AnswersThe function and size are the same, but the performance is not. The magnets in the yellow Magswitch featherboard are 2 X's bigger than the magnets in the Ridgid version. The Ridgid version does not stay in place and is not recommended.

AnswersNo it does not. What you see in the image is what you get. The magnets will not work on aluminum.

The magnet is much smaller and the overall weight is much less than the one I bought a just a couple of years ago. My old one broke a feather before giving up. That's why I bought a second one. The new one is moved when any healthy warp comes along. So if you only ever, ever work with FAS surfaced 2 sides or better you might be ok but rough cut lumber you'll re-position the featherboard regularly. This new and improved version doesn't help me

I thought I found a bargain in this tool--a genuine magswitch featherboard for $5 less than the yellow "Magswitch" branded featherboards. I was wrong.
I should have read the negative reviews before purchasing this. They're all true.
This Ridgid featherboard is junk compared to a genuine Magswitch featherboard.
Apparently Ridgid thought they could save money and boost profits by cutting the size of the magnet in half. They're fools. (See photo for side by side comparison)
The Magswitch version does not budge once I lock it to the table. The Ridgid version somewhat easily moves out of position. Realistically, worrying about or dealing with a featherboard moving once you've started cutting a piece of wood completely negates the point in using a featherboard. And the added distraction just makes such work much more dangerous.
There's no point in paying $35 for the cut-rate Ridgid version that slides around a table when you can get the Magswitch version for only $5 more. It's just plain stupid for Ridgid to make a junk version with magnets that are half as powerful as those in the real tool.
Not the same as the original one I purchased.

I purchased a Ridgid magnetic featherboard several years ago. It has excellent holding power and is extremely difficult to move by hand once locked down. Since the one I purchased is the only one Ridgid sells and looks similar, I made the assumption they were the same unit. I was wrong.
The new one has a thinner spine and much weaker magnets. Not sure why, but this won't work in my shop. I can push the featherboard across the table with one hand fairly easily. It's getting returned.

I was a little concerned after reading a few of the reviews, but I'm extremely happy with mine. I like the feel of it when it engages/disengages, and it holds very nicely and would take some effort to move it once engaged.
