Questions & Answers

Is this a universal tool ? A few customers indicated that it doesn't work on Moen or Am. Std.

Asked by: Putty
This does not work on all faucets. Many comments are indicating this works with a Moen faucet. But are not specific in the size requirements. Purchased to remove my single hole Moen faucet and it doesn't fit. If you have a stem with a 5/8in nut, use another tool as the smallest this has is 15/16. And if the nut did fit, the diameter of the handle is too big for the space between the hose connectors. Returning this to Home Depot ASAP.

Will this tool turn metal nuts?

Can I use this tool to reach up and turn the metal nut (shown in picture I took) to turn the metal nut holding my bathroom sink faucet in place?

Pasco 7000 is the new nutbuster for zinc and brass nuts. Great tool, but only for the destruction of brass and zinc nuts.

Can't remove the 2"D X 2"D center basin hex nut/coulpler

I am having the MOST difficult time removing the center basin nut to replace my kitchen faucet. I have zero remove to maneuver due to existing disposal and only 5.5" from the back of sink to back of cabinet.(see pictures) The HD plumbing salesman said this product wouldn't work, but all I needed was a basin wrench. I got one, but it didn't work at all. The nut was too large for the basin wrench whether I take the disposal out or not. Will this tool work, or can you suggest a specific tool I can use. I am trying to avoid calling a costly plumber. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I see your problem It's too bad things are put in with no remorse on there exit. That is a large basin nut with no room that I have seen myself. Just use a different basin wrench there are bigger ones for sale I purchased a large basin wrench at Grainger's. If all fails a good channel lock will help but probably help but mare the nut. Spray the nut with wd-40 the night before. I am a retired plumber good luck...

Without a doubt, one of the worst tool purchase choices I've made in many years. I purchased this because I was about to begin working on multiple faucets and sinks around my house [remodeling time]. From the onset, I realized this wasn't going to be the "wonder tool" I needed while inside the cabinet and under the sink to replace the faucet. I needed additional wrenches to simply remove the water lines, and loosen the faucet fasteners because this "tool" doesn't fit anything under any of my bathroom sinks / faucets. I decided to give it another try while working on replacing my kitchen sink and faucet. Same story... this tool was NO use. I ended up resorting back to the good ole adjustable wrench, screwdrivers and pliers. Bottom line... worst $20 I've spent on a tool in recent memory.

Ridgid Faucet and Sink Installer Tool is a great tool to add to any ones tool box. I used it while installing a new kitchen faucet recently and it made the job a lot easier. Its length made it easier to reach the areas way up on the underside of the sink where there is not a lot of working space. With its different adapters you won't need a lot of different tools and with the way the body is made, it easily fits over the connecting hoses so you can get to the fittings to ensure they are tight. I bought mine on a spur of the moment and am very glad I did. I would highly recommend this tool to anyone and with its low price, it is well worth the money.

This is billed as an installer tool and I was trying to remove my bathroom faucet so I can't be too critical. I can see where it could be a useful tool in many situations, but it would not grip the large plastic lock nut under the bathroom faucet. It was configured so as to fit the 1-3/4" lock nut just fine, but continually slipped off when torqued. I returned it to Home Depot with no problem (thanks, HD!) and bought the Husky 2 inch Universal Faucet Nut Wrench, which did the trick in one minute. I would recommend this Ridgid tool for installations (not removals) because of its versatility.

RIDGID Faucet and Sink Installer Tool - I believe this tool is a wonderful tool if, if,if it fits your kitchen faucet removal and installation fixtures. The straight line way it works and the grip it offers is ideal. It would be better if it came with varying size attachments or an adjustable one that allowed fits to other sizes. Consequently, I'm giving this tool a 3 star rating because it was a waste of money for me but not completely worthless. It does fit the new faucet but not the old one allowing me to remove it. I will retain it in case RIGID listens to users about providing other sizes for the tool or in case it fits my bathroom faucet installer needs. Or future kitchen faucet. It really is a good idea, just incomplete in concept. If you are seeking a kitchen faucet installer, I'd suggest avoiding this for now unless you know for 100% certainty it fits.

None of the multipurpose tools fit the old faucet or new faucet hose lines and was not useful for disconnecting or installing the faucet mounting. The one thing I used it for was to tighten the soap dispenser nut, I would not purchase it for this purpose. One of it's functions is to reach back to the valve handles, It does make this job easier so I decided I would keep it to cycle my valves once every three months. 3 stars because I plan to use it on my valves.
