Dear Sirs/ Maam, We looking for pin latch (ref no:7) and wavy washer (ref. no:5) for 408 series instrument bender, is RIDGID sold those parts in Jakarta, Indonesia? Please send us the contact person and their email address. And what is the direction to extract the left over broken pin latch? Is it inward, outward, or both direction is able? Please see the attached photograph. Thank you very much for your kind assitance.
Asked by: Handoyo
Hi, thanks for your inquiry. The pin to hold the latch is catalog #7282. The broken pin should be extracted from the side opposite where it broke. As far as a distributor in Jakarta, please contact area manager Andi Hilmawan at Andi.Hilmawan@Emerson.com

I also want to know what size tubing it bends. Seems like the most important spec, not listed, nor answered. I'll try ebay & Amazon instead.

Asked by: BillG
The tube size capacity on this is 6 mm (Actual o.d.) and the bend radius is 16mm. Is that the info you were looking for? Please feel free to give us a call at 888-743-4333 if you have more questions so we can help you find the answers you are needing. Thank you

Would I be able to bend 3/16 copper tubing into a stacked coil? and whats the smallest diameter I could make that coil? My application is to water cool a short section of 1/4 inch o.d. tubing. I have fin plates to place between the coils about 1 mm thick. I need to fabricate a coil to water cool these fins. TIA -Wayne

It might be tricky but I believe this could be done. You would need to bend it in 180 degree increments which is the maximum bend the tool can perform. Also you would need to change the angle of the leg being bent to change the plane so that the helix of the coil can be maintained. This in turn would create a coil that has a great deal of space between the coils and it would most likely have to be compressed after fabrication to the desired spacing. Finally the bender would only be capable of creating at a minimum a 1-1/4” diameter coil as the bend radius of the tool is 5/8”. If there are more questions on this please feel free to contact us. I hope this helps. RIDGID Technical Service 1-800-4-RIDGID

How to tighten Rigid 400 series tube bender?

looks like very small torx type screw but not sure.
Asked by: Randy
“Tightening up the bender can mean several different things. It could be as simple as tightening reference number 7, however the tool could be loose in a few other places that I have indicated with the red circles. • If the latch is loose it could be reference number 7 again or the wave washer (# 5 is worn or missing). • It could be the bending shoe which would mean the roll pin (# 2) or the hole on the entire handle is worn or defective. • The bending form on the upper handle assembly could be loose, in which case again the tool is either worn or defective tightening would not be possible. • The link that connects the bending handle to the form could be loose, in which case the same thoughts I stated above would apply. If there are still questions please contact our Technical Suport Department at 888-743-4333. Thank you RIDGID
