POWER!
Love this thing! Easily cuts through 6 pieces of hardie lap siding at once. Did great on retaining wall concrete cap block. I had to cut from both sides because the block was 4” thick, but it had no problem cutting full depth through concrete usind a segmented diamond blade. Great saw. Love the rafter hook also.

Nice powerful circular saw
I have only used a worm drive saw once before and it was an old one and a few years ago. But I have used a few typical sidewinder circular saws. This saw does have a lot more cutting power. I don't think it slows down when you are cutting unless you bind the blade. Even then is still keeps going it's just harder to push the saw forward. Being right handed it's nice to be able to see the blade and where it is cutting, it's easier than a typical sidewinder circular saw. ALso since the handle is more inline with the blade I think cutting a straight line is easier. It is a fair bit heavier than a typical sidewinder circular saw, but I feel that is makes it more stable. Overall this is a really nice saw. Nice rubber overmolding, easy to access levers to make adjustment for bevel and cutting depth. On board wrench for changing the blade (held in the upper handle with a magnet). The cord is a good length, long enough that the plug does not get caught on the end of a piece of plywood when you are ripping it down. The base plate is a nice and thick, shouldn't bend unless you drop from a good height. The rafter hook is nice and swings in and out easily. There was no bag or case included, which is a bit of downer. Also there is no way to attach a vacuum to collect any dust. The blade guard is a little loose for my liking, but it does not interfere with anything.

If your looking for power, you found it.
Like the title says, this saw is powerful. It's so powerful, it may actually be more than I need, but thats a good problem to have. When you put this in your hands for the first time, you are going to be amazed how heavy duty this is, and how well it cuts. It literally cuts through wood like it has a taste for it, and the ends it leaves are extreamly smooth. The bevel and cut depth are unbelievable with a bevel action of up to 56 degrees instead of the standard 45. As far as noise, it's not bad as it is around 75 to 80db, but I would still suggest hearing protection. The oil that you can use with this is (Skil Oil) which runs about $6 for an 8oz tube, but it actually only uses a little bit, so you won't need to much. (A table spoon to fill). As fas as it goes for build, it's heavy duty as mentioned. Ridged uses their trademark heavy duty rubber/plastic material with stamped metal to build this. You could drop this saw over and over and never make a crack. Just don't drop it on your foot and you will be in some pain for a while. I also love the built in hanging bracket as its sturdy and easy to keep this saw up and away from kids. Cons: I would have liked a cache, but the hanging bracket makes up for that. I really think that they should have added the saw guid as you will have to purchase it separately (sorry Ridgid, that should be included). Summary: Even without the case or guid, you are still getting a professional grade saw that will eat anything you put in its path. I added a video to show you just how great this saw is, and I promise you will not be disappointed!

Very nice tool. Smooth running, cuts well. The only addition I would like to see is a brake. I’m a residential contractor and it gets used often. I’m impressed enough that I will purchase the Ridgid table saw and other power tools in the future.
