Hi, I am an underground slurry steel pipeline operator. Sometime we repair the road above the pipeline and would like to know if the depth is accurate and dispayed to the screen. This device can also found if the pipe is deep down to 4m below.
Asked by Harijaona Razafimampiandr July 21, 2020Unfortunately, this device is not reliable for getting an accurate depth reading and very difficult to use properly with the leveling bubble. Ridgid does make a more advanced locate device. Check out the SeekTech SR-20 Locator, or SR-24 Line Locator with Bluetooth® and GPS or SeekTech SR-60 Locator
Does the ridgid scout line finder need a transmitter to find a poly underground line?
Asked by Tom s January 8, 2021Yes it does. As long as there's tracer wire on the pipe. The RIDGID 14818, is the one I use.

Asked by MainDrain September 6, 2015Thanks for contacting RIDGID. It will not be necessary to update software on the Navitrack Scout. This unit does not require periodic calibration. In cases of product repair, the board is programmed and tested/calibrated but there isn’t a maintenance schedule that calls for re-calibration.

We offer transmitters and locators that are available to use in conjunction with each other. If the system is able to have some type of transmitter hooked to it so it can have a signal for the locator to find, then yes, it can help you in your application.
