X4 18-Volt Hyper Lithium-Ion Cordless Hammer Drill/Driver and Impact Driver Combo Kit is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 111.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Patient was DOA Purchased this unit because of the high rating and large battery capacity. It said on the box it has a lifetime service agreement, including the batteries. The first unit had a battery that was DOA. The charger said the battery was defective. I returned the unit and exchanged it for another. Now we are in two hours of messing around. The second unit charged both batteries OK. I tested both units and things were good. I handed the drill to the boss and nothing works. No light, no spins, nothing. I removed the battery and reseated, still nothing. I tried several more times and it finally worked. I put it in the bag and came back a couple hours later and the zipper on the bag was stuck shut. We both tried with pliers on the zipper housing because the handle broke off. We finally gave up and split the zipper open so we could use the tool. This is way too much trouble for a new tool. It took about an hour to figure out how to register the tool on-line for the LSA. What a pain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice set I love this set, have had it for about 2 years now and love to reach for either unit. The lights are convenient and well placed, the handles feel good, and the battery indicators are great for telling how much life you have left in the battery. I always thought a drill was fine for everything, that a driver was a waste of time, but after using this one I'm hooked -- I only use the drill for big holes now. The driver has a hammer action that keeps the bits from stripping out the screw heads, and it has great torque (just cranked in 16 half-inch by 6" lag bolts with it -- the holes were pre-drilled, but it still impressed me). The units are so light, partly because the Li-ion batteries are so light compared to Ni-Cad -- the first time I picked one of the batteries up I thought it was empty. The only things I can think of to complain about is that the driver only has a holder for a single bit, but I usually have to switch between 3 or 4 bits, so I had to design/build my own bit holder to attach to the side. Also that the variable speed triggers seem to not be as smoothly variable as I'd like, though I do otherwise like the feel. I used to be a DeWalt guy, but after my brand new 18V blew out its gears I thought I'd try the Ridgid and am glad I did. I got the DeWalt fixed, but it feels cheap next to the Ridgid which I reach for first. I bought the rest of the 18V tools and they're very nice as well. (Circular saw has a weird issue with tightening the baseplate depth at low angles, but otherwise very well made. Sawsall is perfect.) Most of Ridgid's stuff is nice (bandsaw is probably the worst one). (I don't have any connection to Ridgid, btw., just a weekend warrior with a Home Depot close by.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! My dad had purchased this combo and I've used it a few times at his shop or had borrowed it a few times. I was wanting my own to have around the house as the puny little black and decker, $30 walmart drill I had wasn't up to many of the tasks I needed done. So, I was in the market for a better tool and one requirement of the drill was that it be a hammer drill. I briefly compared this to the other combos in the store last night and from what I could tell the specs on the Rigid were better for both the drill and the impact (I love the impact). So for less money than the competitors, it was a no brainer (and I didn't even know about the warranty, my dad told me about that afterwards). Cordless tools have come a loooonnnng way since my last daily basis usage of them. They have tons more power, the batteries are smaller yet more powerful and the chargers are smarter and faster. Rigid has their hooks in me, I'll be buying more of their tools. Very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ridgid Power tools are Great. I have been buying Ridgid battery tools for years now. I bought this set for the Batteries. I wanted the 4 AMP Batteries, which usually don't come in the other sets, and must be bought separately. I am a General Contractor, building houses, and Ridgid tools work GREAT for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product but Warranty Issues I have researched for a month online and in store at the Home Depot the 18-volt and 20-volt cordless power tools before pulling the trigger on a purchase. During a sale Home Depot was having I almost got the 20-volt Dewalt combo kit, but did not, due to the limited 3yr warranty on them. I've had cordless power tools in the past, the Craftsman 9.6-volt, and when the batteries died on them I never used them again. The batteries are where it gets expensive when your having to replace them, some times over $100 a battery. This is the main reason I didn’t get the Dewalt set and went with the Ridgid combo kit instead. I will say I'm extremely glad I made this decision. The Life Time Warranty was a huge selling point! After getting this combo kit along with the 1/2" Impact Wrench for Christmas 2014, I have been using these tools almost every day since getting them. I will say my corded Dewalt drill has become obsolete now. The hammer drill is my favorite and it's what I've used the most so far. It has great torque and is very light. The lights are well placed on the drill and come in very handy. I used this for many different jobs so far but did have to use my 1/2" impact wrench for a stubborn cab bolt for a truck. Even the impact wrench didn't get it loose so I did have to resort to my air impact gun which did do the job. I have not used either hammer drill or impact wrench on any vehicle lug nuts yet, which I'm excited to try soon. So far so good though. The impact driver has different speeds which is nice and did a good job for what I needed it to do. One major downfall I have been seeing is the battery life though. I have been needing to charge these batteries almost on a daily basis. The first day I used it I needed to charge them both. After a full recharge on both I was able to get another full day of use out of the both of them. I'm not using these crazy hours either, maybe 8 hours tops that first day, other then that only 3 hours tops. I think I've used them a total of 10 times if that and have already recharged each battery 3 or 4 times now. I'm glad they give 2 batteries in the combo kit because they take a good 40+ minutes or so to charge due to them being the larger 4 amp batteries. Now onto the Life Time Warranty which is the real reason why I went with this combo. First off I had an issue on Ridgid's website trying to create a user name. It kept telling me my email was invalid, why, I have no idea. I use this same email for everything. I had to call Ridgid and the woman I spoke with had to set me up on her end. After finally getting my new account setup, I was able to log in and start the warranty process. Make sure if you get these as a gift that you get the receipt and keep the boxes each tool comes in, you may need the UPC codes like I did. For what ever reason my 2 batteries and charger's serial numbers did not match what came across on the Ridgid website. All my power tools matched fine though. This package was not opened or anything like that where someone may have swapped something and returned it. Everything I took out of the box was brand new. Either way I entered the serial numbers from my batteries and charger and submitted my warranty. A few weeks later Ridgid emailed me stating I would need to send in my original receipt, both UPC codes from each box and the letter from the email they sent me. I just sent out all the info they asked for today and pictures that they didn't ask for to prove the serial numbers. It cost me $10 just to do this because they want it certified mail, so I'm hoping they accept everything under their Life Time Warranty. I still would recommend this product to anyone looking for a new cordless combo set. Overall I really like the look, feel, weight and durability of the Ridgid products. And that Life Time Warranty as long as it goes though will be a life saver come time when you need to replace each $100 battery for free. Take it from me, reviews are a huge deciding factor for me. I wanted to be honest and not just give a short, “It’s great” review, so I hope this helps some people out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Deal I recently purchased a house and I have been doing some pretty major interior renovations as well as exterior maintenance. I was using an old Craftsman drill with ni cad battery which pretty much got me nowhere. I was borrowing my friend's Ridgid drill (not hammer) and impact driver. HOLY COW, what a difference. I decided to wait until Black Friday to see if there were any deals. I got this combo with $100 credit toward another Ridgid tool or battery. Since this combo 2 large 4amp hr batteries I decided to go for the ridgid 18v cordless recip saw. Another awesome tool! BTW, this combo was mismarked on the shelf so I got it $30 cheaper!! Oh, yeah! Used this for the first time today and it didn't let me down. I also just finished the online LSA registration. Pretty easy, just enter model numbers and receipt code. Just waiting for confirmation from Ridgid (says it could take 2 wks). I haven't used the hammer drill yet but will be using it very soon to do some concrete/masonry drilling for a fence. Can't wait to take on more projects around the house now that i have the right tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Ridgid combo kit was stolen, so i bought another. My last Ridgid combo kit was stolen a few months ago. So I shopped around and looked at the computers. DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, and I ended up back with Ridgid. I chose this kit because of the 4amp hour batteries. If you plan on working, get the 4amp hour batteries. DeWalt has 20volt written on their battery packs bit if you read the fine print, they are 3amp hour packs with 18v normal voltage with 20v max output.as far as power and runtime, I haven't found better. I like the light placement for driving screws. The hammer drill blows through concrete with the correct bit. And the impact driver is the fastest way to drive screws and lag bolts. Also, the price is right. This is a premium tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only Ridgid Kit with 4 AH batteries While I already had a # of Ridgid X4 18 Volt tools. With the price if buys just the batteries along in this kit at $119 each for each of the (2) 4 AH lithium-Ion batteries in this kit. I finally choose to go ahead and buy this kit as well as that way the 4 AH batteries are also covered under the Ridgid LSA. The tools them selfs are great and now I should never has to buy another set again for the rest of my life as they care covered by the Ridgid LSA. This kit also comes with the nicer battery charger. I did have to e-mail in some doc's for them to verify and it took a few weeks longer than prev issues with other tools getting setup with the Ridgid Lifetime Service Agreement (LSA) But got to say I love these tools and hope to see Ridgid continue to add new tools to this line. Now I have the power and performance to take on any home repair projects with my tools.
