Q:Can I apply this to the individual tiles instead of troweling it on to the concrete floor

Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. No, the adhesive must be applied to the substrate with a trowel in a consistent manner ensuring well defined trowel ridges are created. Once the appropriate amount of open is observed, the flooring can be installed into the adhesive field.

A:  You could just follow the directions for floor app.

A:  Ours had a coating on them and it was fine. here is what it says on the can," For the interior installation of carpet cushion, solid vinyl, solid rubber, solid urethane, recycled non-foam (PVC), luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) up to 12 in. x 12 in, and Enhancer backed carpet tiles". Which says to me it would be fine.

Worked great for our carpet tile project. Easy to apply using an ordinary paint roller. It allows you to make either a permanent or semi-permanent bond depending on how long you allow the glue to set up before laying the tiles. We chose semi permanent. It turned out great!

Ordered and received within a week. I purchased it for my installers to use in installing 600 sf of LVP flooring. Installers had no complaints about product. Flooring has been down for just over a week, and I've moved furniture and flooring seems solidly in place. There were never any unpleasant fumes as glue was setting. The only reason I didn't give product 5 stars is that it didn't go as far as container said it would. Container said it would cover 680-760 sf when using a trowel, but installers used every drop and said I had just enough (though I don't know what size trowel they used). Overall, satisfied with product and would use again.

I bought this to use to install carpet squares I had in my basement laundry room. I initially put them down without glue, but they moved some and I wanted a better look. Roberts 6300 adhesive took care of the job. Easy to put down and yes, it holds well. This went down on concrete, some of it not totally smooth. But nonetheless, it is holding the carpet squares perfectly. Wish I had done this to begin with. One piece of advice. If you aren't going to do all of your project at one time, be careful and don't let anything lay on the adhesive where you've applied it and it extended beyond the section you need to glue. I let some carpet squares adjacent get in contact and it did what it was supposed to do ... it glued the edge down. Good stuff!

              For gym rubber flooring
I purchased this for use with my recycled rubber rolls of gym flooring. The rubber is black and the adhesive dries white. I thought it may dry clear. Now I have patches of white all about the surface of my rubber floor where the adhesive "bled" through the porous rubber. I am trying to find something that can remove the adhesive from the rubber floor surface without damaging it. As far as other properties, it dries pretty slowly which may or may not be a good thing. It provided good adhesion. It offered me a chance to move the rubber panels around before it dried. The entire container covered about 300 sq/ft.

Home Depot shipped it to my house. The glue had leaked out of the containers and I lost 20% before I even started. The actual product was aggressively sticky and did not really release. There are far better products out there if you need release adhesives.

We appreciate your valuable feedback and would like to offer suggestions to improve your experience when using the Roberts 6300 product. Clean-up: Fresh adhesive – warm soapy water.
Dried adhesive – use mineral spirits sparingly with a clean, white cotton cloth. When using the product in the full tack (releasable) application method: Trowel the adhesive on to the substrate, allow adhesive to dry and become tacky before placing the floor covering into the adhesive field. To remove the floor covering at a later date, always follow the floor manufacturer's specific removal process. - Customer Care QEP

Takes too long to dry--sometimes it never dries!
You can only do a small section of the floor at a time--spread the adhesive onto the floor, and then you have to wait 30-45 minutes to lay the flooring, because the adhesive has to "set up." A few days later, after the all the flooring was in, some of the planks moved when I stepped on them!!! OMG!! It was a real challenge to move them back into place. Then they kept on moving! I finally put some Liquid Nails down, to stop the movement. The adhesive apparently never dried, even though I waited 30-45 minutes to lay the planks, and then rolled the floor really well. In other areas, some of the adhesive later oozed up, days later, between the planks!! Look...I followed the directions perfectly. I waited the amount of time they said. I rolled the planks well after I laid them down. I let the floor sit for a day. But this adhesive kept fighting me, over and over. I don't think part of it has ever dried. This product is terrible. I will NEVER use it again. BUY SOMETHING ELSE--ANYTHING ELSE!!!!

Thank you for taking time to review this product. Roberts understands installing a new Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring can be challenging. Roberts 6300 carpet tile adhesive hasn't fully met your performance expectations and we would like to take a moment to help lend a better understanding of product usage and performance. We are hopeful the following will render a better installation outcome. Roberts would first recommend 7350 for Luxury Vinyl plank installations. This high solids pressure sensitive formulation is designed for the interior installation of luxury vinyl tiles & planks and many other types of resilient flooring. This formula is trowel and roller application grade (dependent on substrate porosity) 7350 offers two application methods - Permanent Installations (Wet-set method) over porous substrate Only & Releasable Installations (Full Tack-set Method) When installing over a porous substrate(concrete/plywood), place flooring into semi-wet adhesive for a permanent bond or allow adhesive to dry and become tacky to the touch for a releasable bond. When installing over a non-porous substrate(existing flooring), ALWAYS allow adhesive to dry and become tacky before placing the flooring. After installation of the flooring, Roll the flooring (with a weighted roller) according to the floor covering manufacturer's specific guidelines. - Customer Care QEP
