Product Details

The Roberts Laminate and Wood Flooring Wedge Spacers are used to create a perimeter expansion gap when installing laminate and other floating floors. One spacer will provide a 1/4 in. expansion space, two spacers placed in opposition, will make up to a 9/16 in. expansion space. The spacers have serrated edges that lock them into the correct position once a board is placed against them.

    Answer This Question

    A:  Insert spacers between the first row and the walls in order to maintain the appropriate amount of expansion space around the perimeter of the floor. During the installation, re-check the spacers to ensure they are tight against the wall and to ensure the installation is square. After the floor is completely installed, remove spacers. Always follow the flooring manufacturer's specific installation guidelines.

          A:  You do need spacers on rows you are currently working on and keep a few on the long side of planks. I just took spacers from prior installed rows a few away from what I was working on. I hope that makes sense.

            A:  You should be using multiple spacers for each row as this will create a stable piece to push the planks together and it will also provide a consistent, even expansion space. You should be using one spacer for every 12" to 18" . Customer Care

                A:  Thank you for your inquiry. Expansion gapping is required by flooring manufacturer's to allow the flooring room to expand and contract. Baseboards and/or quarter round are generally installed as aesthetic pieces to complete the look of an installation.                     Product works as advertised, and is significantly better than the versions of these spacers that do not have the ridges. You can double stack these, and the ridges hold them together tightly - really nice. I did an entire floor with these, and it worked out great. Downside is that they are an absolute rip-off. They are little chunks of plastic and cost an arm and a leg. I would still recommend because of the good function.

                      Spacers failed to Stay in place
                      Purchased kit and returned the entire package due to spacers. The empty space between the floor and wall does not allow these spacers to work well. They kept going into the spaces. purchased L shape spacers instead.
