Q:Why does Home Depot sell this when half the reviews say it doesn't work? Bought in store before I saw the reviews and of course didn't work on my hardwood floor. They claim it works on MOST floors. Apparently doesn't work on 1/2 the floors! Wasted $$$

Sorry - Does not work
The carpet still slides around. I used the entire roll on this one runner. On a positive note, at least this product sticks to the carpet. The other two anti-slip products I tried would stick to the floor but not the back of the carpet.

Sticking very well
I washed 3 of my matching rugs and 2 nearly lost all of the latex backing. After tearing everything off and drying them I searched for a backing to be able to continue to use them. (There is a large 6 x 8 under my kitchen table! I am thrifty and don't want replace everything!). I was hesitant due to the reviews here about the tape. I went to Home Depot to physically examine the tape. I selected two boxes for 4 x 6 rugs and made sure the adhesive seemed to cover edge to edge on the two rolls. I cut to fit for both a runner and a 2 x 3 using all the tape. The rugs are down now and seem to be holding. I am sure as we stand on them the tape will be pressed in more securely. I think it was well worth the 10 dollars plus a roll. The small rug alone cost more than that! I hope to get another year out of my matching rugs!

Buy 2 rolls!
1 roll will not cover the 4x6 rug. This is all that it covers buy following the directions on the roll

useless in every way
First, half of the "sticky" side had no adhesive on the back at all! Only one edge of my roll had an adhesive, sometimes 1/2 the width, at some places only 1/3 of the width, and it was very weak. What did stick to my rug was no help whatsoever in keeping it from sliding around the hardwood floor. Completely useless product.

Variety of uses great pad
I used this material to pad a laptop metal stand so computer would not sliide off metal top

Minimal Traction
This product does not perform well. Carpet still moves with only light foot traffic causing a half inch to an inch of movement of an individual stops or turns while walking on the carpet.

Works great, buy more than it says
I chose this product because I didn't want to deal with adhesive residue on the floor down the road. I have a 4x6 area rug that I was laying on stained concrete.
I followed the illustration exactly, and it did require 2 rolls (with about 4 feet left over). The rug does not slip at all now!! And believe me-- on stained concrete, EVERYTHING slips and slides, a lot.
Do it slowly, don't rush it, follow the instructions (step repeatedly on each strip as it's placed) and you'll get the results you're looking for.
