I'm looking for ComfortBoard 168605/6/7 which is 4'x8' and need about 6 sheets. It's not available at my Georgia HD, nor does is show availability for ship to store or for online order. Any hope for this? Thanks.

Where can I purchase this product?

I live in th 14127 zip code orchard park, ny. Only comfort batts seem to be stocked in this area
Asked by: Marco
I've looked and asked about Comfortboard purchase. Initially it seemed like the minimum order was either a truckload or half truckload (doesn't matter which as both were way too much for me). But I went to the Pro Desk at Home Depot and they were able to get it in a pallet size special order. Prime Source supplies Home Depot (and Lowes) but they don't want to deal with consumers. They supply retailers. I found a supplier down in the Washington DC area who can sell by the individual package you see shown in the product description on the Home Depot website, but the DC supplier mentioned it is difficult to ship and expensive. I'm convinced this product will eventually be a stock item in Home Depot, as it is in Canadian Home Depot stores. Canada and Europe use this product and the USA has some catching up to do.

Can I use this in my camper subfloor?

Replacing white foam
Asked by: Thenewdoityourselfer
Comfortboard is not a structural product, so it isn't a "board" that you can walk on. It comes in the dimensions supplied by the manufacturer and it would need to be cut in order to fit between standard 16" or 24" stud or joist spacing. Generally speaking it is used as a continuous layer of insulation and then furring (nailing) strips, or a layer of plywood, would be placed over it. I wouldn't recommend putting a continuous layer of Comfortboard over your existing subfloor and then adding another layer of subfloor. This would add weight to your camper and the Comfortboard would compress when you walked on the floor. This would cause your subfloor fasteners to stick out under compression and then return flush to the subfloor when the load is removed. If an added layer of subfloor wasn't too heavy, you could put furring strips (the same thickness as the Comfortboard) over the original subfloor and then fill in between the furring strips with the Roxul product.

Im searching for insulation for a 2x4 wall that already has 2" of rigid foam between studs. Obviously I have room in the stud section for another 1.5" of insulation. Aside of buying thicker batt insulation and spliting it to fill the stud cavity, would this be a better alternative?

It’s a good solution and it has a soundproof rating as well so should be quieter if you are thorough about caulking any gaps aswelk

ComfortBoard IS 1-1/2 in. x 2 ft. x 4 ft. R-6 Insulated Sheathing Board (6-Piece/Pack) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Easy to Use I purchased a few pallets of the Roxul ComfortBoard IS R8 2 x 24 x 48" panels for my basement pony wall and they are perfect. They are 2" too tall but a bread knife takes care of that. And the excess has found its way into any nook and cranny around plumbing fixtures. I initially was attaching them to the wall with concrete fasteners until I had to pull out 2 sections of panels and realized the concrete fasteners had a 1 in 10 chance of working. I repaired the divots in the poured concrete wall and returned that box to HD for a full refund. They were not Roxul fasteners as they are not available at HD. I was also using foam board adhesive, which failed. I returned that too. HD was good about the returns. Now the boards are in snugly, or pressure fitted in place and even with just those boards installed, my basement walls did not melt the snow as quickly as it did last year! I also purchased a couple of pallets of Roxul ComfortBatt R24 2 x 6 x 48" insulation and once the inspector gives the nod, I'll be installing that insulation. Who wouldn't want their house properly insulated with insulation that is water, mold and mildew resistant? The cost is worth the safety and comfort you get. I wanted a basement I could use year round, not just on good days with the heat turned up to 24 degrees.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Acoustical Panels! Roxul Recommends this for acoustical panels... and I tried it and it works awesome. Highly recommend it for recording studios and home theatres. Frame it and put some acoustically transparent cloth on it (speaker cloth, burlap, etc) and you are good to go!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to the ComfortBatt Great addition to the ComfortBatt. Roxul ComfortBoards can be used anywhere Roxul ComfortBatts can be used. The ComfortBoard is basically a dense, stiff version of the ComfortBatt. I had issue with how the insulation in the attic/back walls of my upstairs bedrooms were installed, fiberglass insulation with vapour barrier to hold in place, the vapour barrier should only be under the drywall from the warm side; otherwise would only trap moisture. I removed the vapour barrier and replaced the fiberglass with ComfortBatts, which worked well for the 2x4 studs, but this left the wooden studs exposed to the cold and would result in heat loss. The solution was Roxul ComfortBoards, which I screwed onto the studs over the regular insulation. Using #8, 3-inch wood screws, with 1-1/4-inch washers, I was easily able to overlap the ComfortBatts and cover up the wooden studs. These boards cut well with a bread knife, cut lines can be easily marked with a marker. Any gaps can be filled with leftover pieces of ComfortBatt. For any outside corner where a stud isn’t available, leftover strips of ComfortBoard can be glued in place, I used hot melt glue, but perhaps construction adhesive would have worked better. As mentioned, writing with a marker is possible, so after installation, consider marking the location the locations of electrical boxes and wires right on the ComfortBoards. For me, there is no worry about the regular insulation falling out as it is now held in place. No vapour barrier is used on the insulation side, regardless if there is a proper vapour barrier on the inside or not, these boards allow the moisture to escape and do not collect inside the walls. I recommend this product to anyone, and with any insulation, wear a dust mask and gloves.
