Love this bucket!
We have compost pile in our yard so up till now we simply had a bowl on our counter that we would toss our scraps in and once we couldn't take the smell (which was just about every day) we would empty the bowl outside. So we were excited to try this compost pail! It is a really cute and simple bucket design that looks great on the counter! The bucket measures approximately 11 1/2" tall with the lid on x 7" in diameter. It comes with two filters that you place into the lid (a square one and a circle one). It also comes with an extra set of filters! We continually used it for a week throwing in egg shells, coffee grinds, veggie scraps along with what ever else we were cooking with and there was no smell escaping the pail while it was closed!! On day six we emptied it into our garden washed the container with dish soap and water and it looked and smelled as good as new! Great concept! I love that it is cute enough to just sit this on my counter and there is no worry about any smell!! Super easy to use and clean!

1Gallon Compost Pail
I have been using old coffee cans for my counter top composting for years. I found this 1 gallon pail with charcoal filters and it's been great. No odors because of the filters in the top. It came with a replacement set of the filters. It is recommended that you replace the charcoal filters every 6 to 8 weeks. You can find replacement filters online by doing a search. There are also retail stores that sell the filters as well. This 1 gallon stainless steel pail looks much better than an old coffee can and will last for years. It's also dishwasher safe. Remove the filters before you wash it.

Convenient!
For anyone who likes to dabble in gardening, you eventually come to realize the benefits of composting much of your kitchen scraps, like teabags, coffee grounds, onion peels, egg shells, over ripe fruit like bananas etc. However keeping a bucket or container on your kitchen counter for the purpose quickly gets icky as you will eventually be dealing with stinky smells and possibly fruit flies. The great thing about this compost pail is it is the perfect size, and it has filters inside to deal with the smells. Also has a handle for easy carrying out to your garden for disposal!
