Q:Does the magnetic feature only for bits or does it also hold screws?

A: Only the bit. A small amount may pass through, but I got a magnetizer for my bits and that make them hold the screw.

A: I bought it as a gift for my sil, but everything that I own with magnetized bits holds screws magnetically, so I would be safe in saying, YES.

A: If your 1/2" bit has a standard shank, which it most likely does, this shaft will work.
by|Jan 8, 2021
A: It depends size drive shaft of your spade bits. This flexible bit holder has a 1/4" female hex drive socket. My Irwin spade bits are 15/32" male hex drives so my spade bits won't work with this flexible shaft but that's not to say you can't find 1/4" drive spade bits.
by|Jan 10, 2021
A: Yes, if it has a hex end.
by|Jan 8, 2021
A: Yes but it’s dangerous your control is limited
by|Jan 10, 2021
A: Yes but I would not recommend it. This holder is more for getting to a difficult location or around a bend and will give you some torque, but not enough to drill through anything, especially not with a spade bit. If you have a pre-drilled hole and want to widen it some with the spade bit, and it's not a hardwood material, you might be able to do it.

A: As long as the bit has a hex shank, it should fit, but I wouldn’t really recommend drilling with this extension. The extension is flexible and would be extremely unstable.

Broke in Under an Hour
I bought this for its advertised use: to reach a spot my drill couldnt fit. Unlike the advert, the shaft DID rotate and got very hot. It got twisted on itself and then eventually snapped at one end during its first use. NOTE: on the back, Ryobi calls this a “consumable product,” meaning it is expected to eventually break, so im out of luck

Broke in first use
Seems like a very handy tool, but it is not sturdy. Broke on first use - I didn't even get one fastener driven before it snapped at the head. Save yourself some headache and buy a right angle driver instead.

Poorly made
2nd time using it and it just breaks into 3 pieces. It wasn’t even flexed at all, I was using it just for an extension.

Much better then my old one
I had previously bought a cheap flexible bit holder I needed to get to a screw under my cabinet and it broke right away. I ended up picking up this one for the same job and it worked flawlessly. The cheap one I had was coated in plastic, this one has a metal coating. It feels solid and durable. It is great for those hard to reach areas.

This flexible extension is able to screw 3 1/2" deck screws in tight spaces using a torx bit.
It has great bit retension (bit stays in the bit socket). Many bit holders allow bits to fall out as the bit driver is pulled away from the installed screw resulting in loss of bits during use on the job. I have had this bit driver extension for about 2 months and have driven in excess of 100 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" screws with it.
The flexible bit driver is much easier to hold with your hand (guiding the screw at the desired angle with considerably less hand effort/strain) than other fixed angle gear drive models.
This flexible extension totally exceeded my expectations by a large percentage. I bought a spare so that I can have quick access at different locations on my projects around the house, boat, garage (automotive applications), and in the field on the ranch.
Thank you for taking the time and effort to locate and distribute such a great tool!

Nice product. I used this to help install a wired camera security system. It provided the extra length I needed to get the paddle bits all the way through an exterior wall. I was intially concerned that it might not be ridid enough when needed. It was fine. It actually take a bit of a push to bend it which means that it will work as designed. I recommend.

Excellent Product
I wasn't sure this product would deliver but it did! I was able to install some safety devices in my home entertainment shelves. Prior to getting this I toiled for a few hours trying everything I could to no avail. Then I found this and 20 minutes was all it took. 4 star on quality because I've only had a couple of weeks and have only done the one project. We'll see how it lasts over time.

I should have gotten the name brand kit but thought the Riobi would work and it did the way I see it if you need a flexible extension you probably need the end to have a quick connect not a magnet. I can see it working great with just a bit but you’ll probably be reaching in and digging that but out when it binds a little and pulls out
