Turbo mode causes higher battery discharge which causes higher battery temperature. This is a safety and battery lifetime issue.

I had this same issues with my last one of these and returned it. If you can’t return it, submit with Ryobi for a warranty fix. Basically, what happens with these blowers is the variable speed trigger breaks easily

As long as the battery is compatible with op4026 it will work. There should be a compatibility list in the product description, look for op4026 there!

40v battery on a 18v tool

I've had mine for three or four years and absolutely love it. It does everything you need it to do and more. I would suggest buying a second battery to have on hand and a charger. I always go through two batteries.

Battery fully charged, but why is it barely spinning? its functioning prior then it barely blows.

Yea, I returned mine and went gas. Poulan Pro blows hard all the time.

What is the warranty for this specific blower?

It is 5 year of warranty on the tool and 3 year on the battery

Shaft Connector Stripped Out
I have the same problem several others have. Plastic connector from motor to fan stripped out. They do NOT sell this part separate or i would be happy. Have not been able to get through to warranty, and parts vendor was unwilling to even try to help. Gotta buy the entire motor assy. (more than new one) I filed a ticket with customer support 4 days ago, but no reply :-( I have so many Ryobi tools, but this makes me sad.

I decided to turn over a new leaf, throw out the broom, and invest in the Ryobi 40v. Although I wasn’t blown away by its power, it’s more than sufficient to get the job done. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is I would like the battery life to be a little longer. All in all, if you have a small to medium sized yard, this thing is perfect, and I’m not just blowin smoke.

So have had two of these now. The noise is no more then other blowers and better then a gas blower. Issue is; ran the first one for about 5 hours over two days then it failed. The motor spun but the jet fan would not. Was only 10 days old so returned to store. Second blower failed for the same issue after just 3 hours. The jet fan (orange portion) is not connected to the electric motor, but is on a shaft that inserts into the motor. If anything gets into the blade area (specifically leaf's) it binds and then the electric motor rounds out the drive hole the shaft is inserted to. See pictures below. Ryobi needs to address this design issue.

Man this blower is great! Had it for about 3 months and it can handle any job. The battery is powerful and it will last a long time. If you use the turbo button more frequently, that will make the battery low faster. The turbo button is great but I wish that there is a way of locking the button so you don't have to hold down two buttons at the same time. It can be tiring holding both for a longer time. Other than that, its a great blower. It can handle any debris or grass clippings. Even leafs but as long as you don't have a huge yard that's all covered in leaves.

On 08/12/2018 I bought a small group of leaf blowers to try out; to determine which would best fit my needs – as a homeowner that would be clearing leaves & small branches from rock gardens, my house & garage roof, & roof gutters. The conditions of my planned use (on roofs and in a large yard) helped me narrow my choices to those that were more mobile and had long run-time. Corded of course gives the longest run-time, but is the most awkward in terms of mobility and maneuverability. So, I chose amongst untethered (cordless/no electric power cord), yet with long run-time, and light. So, I considered gasoline engine and battery electric. I reviewed the large selection on the Home Depot Website (as well as other sites) and chose 4 that seemed like good candidates: 1. EGO 110 MPH 530 CFM Variable-Speed Turbo 56-Volt Lithium-ion Cordless Electric Blower w_ 2.5Ah Battery and Charger Included-LB5302 - The Home Depot.html 110 MPH 530 CFM 9.8lb 64dB 2.5 Ah Battery & Charger Included 12-75 minutes run-time $179.00 a. Pros: i. Very powerful. ii. Very light. iii. Very quiet. iv. Wide, stable base (on which it sits), so it doesn’t easily tip over. v. Separate speed control lever, so that the trigger is just an on/off switch. This is very helpful when you want the same blowing force/speed each time you turn on blower. vi. Has a couple optional accessories: 1. EGO Blower Nozzle-AN5300 2. EGO Blower Strap-AP5300 vii. Inexpensive. b. Cons: i. Separate speed control lever, so that the trigger is just an on/off switch (trigger). This makes it very inconvenient/awkward to vary the blowing force/speed as you use the blower. The speed control lever can be adjusted while the power is on, but it is in a location/position that makes it necessary to use a second hand to make these changes. ii. There is a long (~1 second) delay in reaction to the on/off switch (trigger). The blower starts ~1 second after the trigger is depress and stops ~1 second after the trigger is released. These delays make it necessary to do advanced planning to have good control of when it blows. I found it very tedious to work in tight, detailed areas as well as prevent scattering the materials I was blowing. c. Alternatives: While looking for information for this blower, I just now discovered that EGO makes 2 higher models. These have speed controls located/positioned so the thumb of the right hand can operate them, which may eliminate this con. If these models do not have the on/off delay, this could make these clearly the best, especially with such high power.: i. 168 MPH 580 CFM Variable-Speed 56-Volt Lithium-ion Cordless Blower with 5.0Ah and 56V Charger Kit $299.00 ii. 142 MPH 575 CFM Variable-Speed 56-Volt Lithium-ion Cordless Leaf Blower with 5.0Ah Battery and Charger Included $349.00 . 2. Ryobi 110 MPH 480 CFM Variable-Speed 40-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Jet Fan Leaf Blower - 3.0 Ah Battery and Charger Included-RY40430 - The Home Depot.html 110 MPH 480 CFM 9.7 lb 68dB 3 Ah Battery & Charger Included 13, 18 minutes, 23 seconds on high,-? minutes run-time $159.00 a. Pros: i. Fairly powerful. ii. Very light. iii. Decent integral on/off variable speed control trigger switch. iv. High capacity battery. v. Inexpensive. b. Cons: i. A bit noisy. ii. Only moderately powerful. iii. Narrow, unstable base (on which it sits), so it tips over easily. . 3. Ryobi 160 MPH 520 CFM 25cc Gas Jet Fan Blower-RY25AXB - The Home Depot.html 160 MPH 520 CFM 11.5lb 74dB $129.00 a. Pros: i. Very powerful. ii. It blows well enough at idle that it could be used that way for light, easily moved items. iii. Very good variable speed/throttle control. iv. Very Inexpensive. b. Cons: v. Since it blows so well at idle, and it can’t be switched on and off like an electric, it must be pointed away from the work area to cease the blowing (without stopping and restarting/pulling the starter rope). vi. Moderate handle vibration. (Causes numbing of fingers. Long-term use might possibly cause nerve damage.) vii. Moderately Noisy. viii. Fairly heavy. ix. Narrow, unstable base (on which it sits), so it tips over easily. . 4. Milwaukee M18 FUEL 120 MPH 450 CFM 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Handheld Blower Kit with Free High Demand 9.0 Ah Battery-2724-21HD-48-11-1890 - The Home Depot.html 120 MPH 450 CFM 7.3 lb 63dB 9 Ah Batteries & Charger Included $279.00 c. Pros: i. Fairly powerful. ii. Extremely light and therefore very maneuverable. iii. Very quiet, but very slightly more disturbing sound than the EGO LB5302. iv. Very good integral on/off variable speed control trigger switch. v. Two speed ranges, which could be taken as either pro or con. This gives less control over maximum speed compared to the EGO LB5302, but allows full variable speed leading up to max. vi. Very high capacity battery. vii. More expensive, but good value, because it includes 2 very high capacity batteries. d. Cons: viii. Only moderately powerful. ix. Not a very wide base (on which it sits). It has a 3-point stance (tri-pod). It doesn’t tip easily, unless the 3 legs don’t have something to sit on. In the end, after a few days of real-world testing/work, I chose the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 120 MPH 450 CFM 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Handheld Blower Kit with Free High Demand 9.0 Ah Battery-2724-21HD-48-11-1890, as the best for my needs.

It literally has one piece to assemble. Battery run time is decent and enough for medium to heavy sized jobs. Balanced well as it is about 10lbs. I had it for about a month and has meet my expectations for what I need around my house.

I received the product along with another ryobi product and had my suspicions based on the packaging that it may not be a brand new item. The blower had black scuff marks on the side of it right out of the box. These were not small marks but nonetheless I decided to give it a try. The blower worked great one time and it seemed the battery died on me... or so I thought. I charged it up again to go at using it again a week later and it was blowing at 1/10th of the power from before. The turbo button did nothing and the battery confirmed it had all 4 bars full. I've since exchanged the blower and hopefully can update this review based on the new product I received off the store shelf. Oddly enough this one had smaller slight black scuff marks in the same area. Hmm. So far so good though as it lasted much longer and has had great power.
