AnswersI don't know, I have the same issue. And yes, the bag is on as tight as I can get it and it is zipped tightly. This thing collects 'zero' dust at all, so not sure why it's even provided. I've seen by others posting here that attaching a vacuum hose will do better. Hate to run multiple tools at the same time just because it doesn't work correctly in the first place. I assumed it would and for the price we pay, well... Other than that, this is an awesome saw!

In order to mount your saw to a surface pleas use a bolt that will slide through the mounting holes which are roughly .367 in. You will wand to use washer on the surfaces on either end of the bolt, this will help you tighten the saw in order to ensure that the saw does not move around. The sales price for this sliding miter saw for the value it provides is unbeatable. The provided blade was good quality and made clean cuts with no tear out. The blade was already adjusted to 90. One small issue: the shadow line does not show up well during outdoor daytime use, would have preferred laser line, but I never rely on these to make my cuts. The miter angle was dead on accurate straight out of the box. NOTE: the base is long and very study so on some miter saw stands you will need a plywood sub base to mount saw and then mount to brackets. This saw handled a stack of 5 poplar 1” x 6” boards, 2” x 12” hard dry oak, and various yellow pine and plywood cuts with stock blade and I have had no issues.. but I did buy some good Diablo blades because of online reviews I saw when doing my research. Maybe it wasn’t poor blade performance but instead poor operator technique — I’ll save the Diablo blades for now.

Great Saw, Great Price
Nothing more I can ask for in a miter saw. It’s juat what I needed. Sliding 10” compound miter saw for less than $200. This thing is a steal. I can’t believe I waited so long to get it. My only complaint is now I want the miter saw stand but I just can’t justify the price they sell them for right now.

Avoid this saw
The work peace hold down is terrible. They got rid of the set screw one and replaces it with some friction for one that is impossible to use with one hand. You CAN drill and tap a hole for a set screw making the problem go away, but I worry if something this dumb made it through quality control, the saw might disintegrate at any moment.

It cuts..... Regret not spending more.
So I do some woodworking on the side. Main reason I purchased this was to help me crosscut cuttingboards/signs to avoid switching my ripping blade out on my dewalt table saw. Cut it does, but does not leave a clean finish. I decided to switch out the blade a Diablo 40 tooth crosscut blade. Still the same result. Kind of like the blade wobbles, on thicker stock where two passes are required, the bottom portion is like .01 inches difference.
Too much play in the plastic blade cover.
Does not leave clean lines
I really regret not spending the extra cash :(

fence won’t square with blade
I have had good experiences with Ryobi products in the past. I used this saw to build a workbench and tree boxes, so I didn’t need the cuts to be perfect. But the fence wouldn’t square with the blade. If I take a 4”x4” block of wood and cut one side then rotate it 1/4 turn and cut the other side until I have cut all four sides, the last side has a major variance from being square. The fence has four bolts that can be loosened to adjust in efforts to square it up, but it was so far off that the fence wouldn’t move enough to square up with the blade. Also, when the blade is out to the far end of the sliders, it can be moved 1/4” from side to side, which could create sloppy cuts when extending the slider. I returned the saw and bought a different brand.

It saddens me to write this. I'm a Ryobi guy. My very first power tools (which I still own AND use) are the BLUE Ryobi One + 18 volt drill and circular saw kit that I impulse bought on Black Friday in in either 2005 or 2006. They are still running like champs and I love that every battery will work with them so that they're not obsolete. For Ryobi to do that shows quality, character, and customer loyalty. I also have their string trimmer/edger and blower that work amazingly well. I originally bought a Dewalt DWS779 online site unseen but based on the many reviews out there. Before I went to pick it up at the customer service desk 11/21/2020) I wanted to look and examine it and the other saws in person. I noticed the Dewalt was not in stock but the Ryobi was. It felt solid and looked amazing. Comparing stats the Ryobi is lighter and despite the blade size difference, I figured the Ryobi could cut what I needed cut. I decided I didn't "need" a 12 inch saw. The 10 would be fine. Also, the price was great! $179 vs the $349 that I had already paid. Figured with the money saved after I exchanged the DWS779 for the Ryobi I could pick up a miter stand or maybe some updated Ryobi tools. I decided to make the switch. I returned the Dewalt and bought the Ryobi. Getting it set up was easy because everything was already aligned from the factory. So far so good. But after doing test cuts I'm not happy that I bought this. It does not cut smooth for one thing. There is a lot of vibration. There's already a build up of saw dust on the sliding rails (to be expected) that makes sliding the saw feel gritty (not expected); it's not smooth at all. If it's like this now, with minimal use, it won't be worth a crud a couple months from now. It blows the saw dust all over. I realize that not all dust would be collected but there was way more dust outside, in and around the saw, than in the dust bag. It didn't feel like it had great cutting power, almost like it is underpowered. I was doing test cuts on a piece of red oak from a scrap stair tread. Overall I'm not happy at all with my purchase. I really wanted to love this saw based on my past Ryobi experience. I'm not sure if I can return it due to buyers remorse, along with the reasons started, and get the DWS779 or if I'll need to sell at a loss. If anyone from Ryobi is reading this you missed the mark on this one. I'm leery now of buying ANY Ryobi products based on the shoddy function of this product. It's boxed up waiting for me to make the half hour drive to the store to try and return it. Why did you have to disappoint me, Ryobi?

Been using it for three now and it works without any hiccup. The measuring tools and sliding cutter is very helpful. I haven’t used the angle cut yet but I am pretty sure will love it too.
Overall this is the good purchase so far.

Paid $139 on sale. Cuts good, decently square right out the box, feels decent. It's worth $150 IMO. Not $220.
The work clamp is worthless. Nothing holds it down. Old version had a bolt with wing nut to hold it. This one had nothing... Threw it in a drawer...
Extension bars are not adjustable. You can only tighten the screws down with them out. Old version was adjustable.. Also threw these in a drawer.
There is no laser like the last version. It's a shadow light that is worthless unless cutting in the dark.
Be aware this saw takes up a ton of room with the slider bars sticking out the back so far.
