I just purchased the Ryobi glue gun a couple of weeks ago and would like to know whether it's normal to have to feed a second glue stick into the feeder when the first one isn't even close to being used up? I was using the glue gun to glue a couple of small things and I turned it off. About 15 or 20 minutes later I turned it back on and waited for it to get hot and I kept squeezing the trigger and no glue came out. I thought it might perhaps be clogged with the old glue but when I fed another glue stick in, that seem to do the trick (although the original glue stick was only used for two or three little things). Is it normal to have to feed a second glue stick into the gun despite the first glue stick not even being close to half used?

It's kinda like buying a new printer. When you put it the first ink cartridge it fills up the ink heads the second cartridge will last longer because the head is filled up.

does it come with the battery & charger? if not how much are they

Asked by: Doglover
Ryobi and other companies always improve battery technolology. I bought this a couple years ago and batteries then didn't have LED gauges. Now they do. As long as they make them ONE+, it'll work. I hope Ryobi never changes the designs of the battery where we'd have to get all new tools and chargers

18-Volt ONE+ Cordless AirStrike 18-Gauge Brad Nailer (Tool Only) with Sample Nails is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4502.

I gave this guy a real shot because I have the Ryobi system, so I really wanted this to just work. First one, every odd press off the button it makes a whir sound, every even press it fires a brad. I was able to fire up to 3 brads this way before the light would start blinking and I'd have to re-seat the battery to resume. This was annoying so I took it back. Second one, I get home, open it and it was a used unit that looks like it's been dropped a couple time. I gave it a shot for giggles, but it had the exact same problem. Third one, shot two brads in a row. I was relieved as I figured this is just a batch issue and I finally got a good one. But no. Third shot and nothing. This one was able to do two shots per miss though and ultimately I could get up to 6 brads in before the lights would blink. With all the good reviews I'm very very confused if I should keep trying as I really want to just keep within the Ryobi system.. but 3 times, all failures, ehhhhhh. Even if the next one works, it's still a 1 star for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do I have to give it a star? I bought this around 2 years ago to install crown moulding. From the first time I used it until the last time today it have been nothing but a disappointing tool. I should have taken it back the first day. I've only had problems with this nailer. The biggest problem is not firing. It seems to do it in the most inconvenient times. Every time I would have a piece in position to nail it wouldn't fire or it would fail as it was firing and leave 1\2 of the nail sticking out. Then the light would flash telling me my fully charged battery was dead. I would then grab a new fully charged battery only to have the same issue. It has taken a beating well. During my frustrations I have slammed it on the work bench when trying to use it on a project in the garage. I have thrown it on the ground after failing to fire for the countless time. I really hope this was just my experience and everyone else is enjoying this tool because it has caused me to much frustration. Please buy the brad nailer, that is a phenomenal tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value and easy to use. I've never owned a nailer before and didn't want to spend alot of money. I read lots of reviews and decided on this one, and glad I did. I've made only 4 or 5 projects with this, but it's performed flawlessly, and with several different sizes of brads.....from 3/4" up to 2". My 9 year old grandson used it on the last project with me with no issues. I thought about a compressor and going the air tool route, but I'm not going to be roofing any houses or changing any tires. I didn't like the idea of lugging around a tank. I did like the idea that a cordless tool is easily and quickly moved around. No air hose to mess with or circuit breakers popping off. Cordless just seemed to suit my needs better. The battery seems to hold a charge for a long time. I've recharged it only a couple times and recharges quickly. If you're a contractor you probably don't want this. If you're a hobbyist and like puttzing around the house with various types of projects, but this. You will not be disappointed.

Stands upright on it's own, heats up quickly, doesn't drip much, feeds well, and cordless! None of those things were attributes of the glue gun I purchased about 20 years ago, and as a result I had given up on the concept as pretty much worthless. That said, hot-melt glue seemed like the perfect solution for a recent repair need. Since I already had some One+ batteries I decided to purchase this inexpensive P305, and was very pleased with the results. I've also rediscovered the availability of both quick-set (15 second) a.k.a. "All Purpose" and slow-set (3 minute) glue sticks, which makes this tool a lot more versatile than I expected.

It does not always set the nail to depth even with a fresh battery and the depth gauge set to max. It does seem to get a little better after the first several nails but it is never completely consistent with the depth of the nails. It often leaves them sticking out a bit and they have to be driven in by hand. This is frustrating. I returned the first one I got thinking it was a bad unit but the new one does the same thing. Also the nose and housing is kind of bulky making it difficult to get into corners and tight spaces. For small quick projects it is very convenient and a lot easier than dragging out the compressor, hose and finish nailer. I have a Hitachi cordless nailer that I don't use all that often. I got frustrated with that because the gas cartridges go bad so when I would go to use it I'd have to figure out which cartridges still worked, so this Ryobi gun is more reliable in that aspect.

I love this tool! Yes, it's not a "high end" brand name, but we've had a few tools from Ryobi and theyve been fine. Mostly sawzalls and circular saws. I wouldn't get drills from them, though. I work in property management and real estate, so when doing flooring or trims, this is a must. I absolutely hate those heavy, noisy compressors and those long hoses. They are necessary if you need to need a framing nailer, which I don't. I was able to make a 200 sq foot family room look amazing with nicely installed baseboards. It shoots 5/8th inch to 2.5 inch brad nails which is awesome. I can get away with not having a finish nailer since I don't work with things that are too delicate. Again, this is only for trims and baseboards type items. It is not made to hold weight, so don't use it to secure 2x4s. I bought the battery and charger kit, but wish the battery had lights on it to tell me how much I have left.

I've researched all the cordless nailers available on the web from the m18 series, to the 16ga up to the 23 ga nailers. Almost all of them had mixed reviews, ranging from not enough power to not being all that useful for day to day use. This specific 18 ga nailer was not only the best reviewed out of all of them but it was also the most useful. I used this to do an entire house's baseboard and casings and it didn't jam once. It also was able to sink 99% of the nails flush without adjustment. The 1% it couldn't do were due to me needing an angled nailer, which I just bypassed and used a small hammer to get those nails the rest of the way in. I had to change the battery 3 times throughout the whole house with the 1.3A battery. Changing to a 3A would have allowed me to do the whole house on one charge. Extremely impressive. I had borrowed this initially.. now I own it!

I love the fact that one battery can be used in all the tools. This is a great idea as i have many Ryobi products. Battery charging is quick and a breeze. Probably the best idea a company had ever had for tools. I am so happy that i can use the same battery on all the tools i have from Ryobi. Charging duration is really good it is super fast and battery last really long.
