The battery Is most definitely a high capacity battery!! It’s a Lithium 40 Volt battery. I just bought the same unit & when I saw the size & weight of that battery & since it is 40 Volts of power, WOW! The P108 battery is only 18 volt Lithium & has a lot of power but it will never compare to the High Capacity 40 Volt!!
If the 2.0 Ah is a Lithium battery, yes. Older ONE+ batteries were NOT Lithium but NmH.
Yes, I found the answer by doing the google thing.
More power and runtime. The charge doesn't diminish when off the charger.
Lasts a long time
Hi Jackie. Thank you for your question. The higher the amp hours, the stronger the battery is which will give it a longer lasting operating life. A 4Ah battery will last longer than a 2 Ah battery as an example. A 6 Ah battery will outlast a 4 Ah battery. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-18-Volt-ONE-Lithium-Ion-6-0-Ah-LITHIUM-H P-High-Capacity-Battery-P193/301913870 Please let us know if we can be of further assistance. According to what I learned online this battery will work on older equipment. However, the older battery is Nickel Metal Hydride and the new ones are Lithium. You cannot cross use the chargers or something bad might happen. Just keep your batteries matched to the proper charger.
I keep it in my work truck, but your winter and mine might be different, I'm currently in Florida, before that Washington state and I never had any problems.
It's an upgrade in reliability for Lithium batteries and marketing appearance. Still remains functional and extra service time, which I really like.
