18-Volt ONE+ Power Caulk and Adhesive Gun (Tool Only)

This Ryobi caulk gun uses the ONE+ battery system and makes caulking a breeze. Has an adjustable lever to control the flow of caulk. Has a lock so trigger cannot be depressed when not in use. Makes for much smoother application and not nearly the mess of a conventional hand pump gun. Very worthy investment.

Having to build an entire house, I needed a calk gun I could use that would ease the strain on my hands. This Tool did that for me. It’s powerful for sure as I’ve not had to dial it past it’s lowest strength setting to get the job done. I’d imagine a battery would last a good while with it also as I’ve never come close to depleting one during a job. And it’s solidly built. So far im happy with it!

I despise using manual caulk guns. I dread it. When I saw an automatic caulk gun, I knew I had to give it a try. I could never get nice, even, and consistent lines using a manual gun, but this thing sure can. I also used it recently for some exterior work where I was applying construction adhesive by the tube. This gun made quick work of that, dumping caulk as fast as I could move the gun! The downside is surely the weight. Being up on a ladder and trying to caulk with one hand gets very tiring and is not sustainable. I will take that tradeoff, but be cautious of that. A clip of some sort to hang on a ladder or even belt would be great. I dropped it off a ladder on to the concrete while trying to balance it as I readjusted.

Bought from Home Depot about 3 years ago, use on two different projects so far. THE GOOD, it has plenty of power with a nice adjustable speed/flow control. Caulk feeds out at a steady even pace, fully adjustable speed that you dial in. All you have to do is move at a constant speed, much better than a hand pump manual type. I really like that part. THE BAD, it takes about an hour to clean every time I use it. The Ryobi's plunger tips a bit and caulk spills out from where the plunger is pushing on the caulking tube. When you pull the plunger back to changes caulking tubes, you have caulk everywhere and deep into the power caulking tool. My first use was, applying 3M brand windshield caulk while installing a windshield. it did it there. Later on the second project I used it on, same problem, the Ryobi plunger rocks a bit, does not push evenly in the caulking tube and caulk leaks past its piston. Two day project, having to cleaning nightly. I was using quality caulk purchased from Sherwin-Williams Paint store, not cheap inexpensive caulk. Called Ryobi today to ask if they had a fix, no suggestions just a pleasant it's out of warranty, suggesting I call Home Depot Service. Did that, nice manager there explained, they don't work on those. I dont think it fixable. The Plunger floats on a pin, I add washers once to tighten it up, did not help so restored to the factory way. When you pull the plunger all the way back required to remove the caulking tube, that’s when the defective design shows up, caulk everywhere it should not be.

BEFORE PURCHASING 18V ONE + POWER CAULK AND ADHESIVE GUN, I HAD OTHER MANUALS THAT ALWAYS ENDED WITH THE SAME RESULT, BROKEN, DEFORMED PACKAGING AND THAT DID NOT MEET THEIR PURPOSE. NOW I JUST HAVE TO ADD THE BATTERY AND READY, I GRADUATE THE OUTPUT POWER, IF I HAVE TO STOP TO CORRECT THE MATERIAL CORD, I LOCK IT AND WITH THAT I AVOID WASTE AND SPILL ON THE SURFACE UNNECESSARILY. IT HAS ALONG WITH ITS BODY A DEVICE TO DRILL THE CURED POINT OF MATERIAL AND MAKE IT EASIER. I AM MORE THAN SATISFIED WITH THIS ACQUISITION.

Great tool and easier then a hand caulk gun

So this gun is awesome IF you read the caulk tube temperature specs . Yes it will blow out a tube if you are trying to go to fast or if it is slightly to cold for the caulk your use ing. I have run 10 cases of dap 3.0 clear on some western cedar siding and in my area the codes require to caulk all base, headers and jacks so that was another 4 cases of dap Alex plus. Don’t try to go to fast but most important is the caulk temperature

Had a lot of repetitious silicone’en to do and I would have had no wrist left if I didn’t scoop one of these up… it worked perfecting… went through 24 carriages .. without an issue

I have used this twice and both times it blew out the back of the tube. As it was compressing the tube it lifts out of the slot. These are what I am left to clean up

I cannot remember when I bought this but I've used it several times for some around the house maintenance. Today I was using it to apply waterproof sealant and the metal rod bent! Instant garbage. I won't be getting any warranty help either. Register all your products because the garbage will break.
