Perfect for what I need
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After testing out this unit, it has everything I needed. It's easy to start and I love that it connects to my phone and I can monitor the power output and turn it off remotely before bed. It's also super efficient.

    Great Generator!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for camping and have used it around the house for activities and it can easily run everything I planned to plug in. The fuel sipping on lower power is outstanding. It is quiet, has a great display, and the app is a cool feature. Under advertised is the handle and wheels, even though it is light enough to carry, it is nice that you can roll it.

      Reliable Ryobi Generator
This product is as advertised, and highly recommed it for it's outstanding performance. I love it, and will one day purchase another for emergencies and outdoor activites. It's easy to operate, looks nice, and quiet. Also it's easy to transport.

IGNORE the "Promotional" reviews; they are skewing the ratings! And this won't make friends when you're camping. Clever generator though.
(Reviewed August, 2021) To explain my first comment: It's clear that the "promotional" reviews are skewing the ratings. I'm sure many were very happy with the product, but some of the comments seemed a little over the top and perhaps disingenuous. Now that I've actually owned this generator, I'm quite sure of it. I'll try to make this brief. I owned this generator for exactly one week, and took it camping with our 21' travel trailer in upstate NY to campgrounds that had no electricity. Upon return from the trip, I took it back - and I'm buying a different generator. PROS: - Lightweight (not the lightest in its class, but still quite light, with a wonderful luggage-handle and wheels. Very nice. - Built-in USB charging (didn't think I'd use that, but I did and it was super convenient). - The iPhone app (again, didn't think it would be useful; but being in the trailer and monitoring the generator was great, particularly since our generator was out of view. - Super quick start. Effortless. CONS: My band played a gig a month ago at a park, and we borrowed an inverter generator that was a competitor to this one, made by Generac. So I had something fresh to compare it to. In addition, when we were camping, these little inverters were EVERYWHERE. So I was able to walk around the campgrounds and compare how ours held up. Ours was the noisiest one of the bunch, in this category. No question. To be clear, the bigger generators (that require 2 people) are usually louder than these little inverter ones. But among the little guys, this one was the loudest one I heard (even though the DB listed is only like 5 DB or so above the competition. But it's not just the overall volume. It's the "sound" of the engine. It makes a high pitched metallic sound sometimes - when it's under a full load. And yes, before you ask, I did put oil in it... and this sound didn't sound defective, it sounded like "this is the way the engine sounds". Others have written that the engine idles roughly. That is accurate. It never seems to get smooth until it's under a bit of a load, and then this whirring sound kicks on. Then off. Then on.... it was actually embarrassing. I was self-conscious of it, and kept moving the generator around the campsite to not annoy too many neighbors. There aren't many settings on this, but the eco setting made no difference. I was incredibly disappointed, because I REALLY wanted to love this thing and have it forever. I took movies to show the folks at Home Depot when I returned it - they were great. Let's hope the Home Depot website folks don't censor this review because of my critical comments about the other reviews. PS: I thought the color was going to annoy me. It didn't. I actually thought it looked cool. Photo enclosed of it in the back of my car. had less features, but was noticeably quieter. Even though the DB rating was very close (I think 5 db difference) this one had a noticeable, high-pitched whine

        amazing little thing
Runs my AC and microwave in my camper trailer. Not at the same time, but still impressive. Love the app. It is also really quiet. Super impressed!

            Great Generator!
This is a great product. I just used it for the first time. Having the ability to shut the generator down via bluetooth, is actually a great feature. I love it!

Note: This is my first generator, so I don't really have a good basis for comparison. Pluses: + Bluetooth connectivity + Digital display + "Moderate" price (at least relative to the gold standard of Honda) + Relatively lightweight Minuses - Pull start - Slightly rough idle - Near horizontal oil filler neck (difficult to pour in oil without making a mess) - Digital load meter doesn't seem accurate - reads strangely low I bought this for the recent Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events in Southern California. My parent's house lost power and it was out for going on 24 hours when I decided to buy this. I've owned it for maybe a month and a half. I ran it for 5 hours during the initial outage. Otherwise, it's sat in my garage until I fired it up this past weekend to do a test run, oil change, and drain the fuel. All in all, it seems to work fine. A few niggling things: the idle seems a little rough - even with nothing connected. The oil filler neck is almost horizontal, which makes adding oil a messy fair. The noise level is about what I expected. From what I have read, this unit is relatively quiet. Your neighbors will still be woken up by it if you start it up in the middle of the night. Based on my limited experience, one thing I would have done differently would have been to add fuel stabilizer *first* to the 5 gallon fuel tank before fueling the generator. We generally don't have super-long outages here, so 5 gallons should last a long, long time. Since I didn't add stabilizer before I initially fueled the tank, to had to drain it out again to mix in stabilizer. The Bluetooth is a nifty feature. I installed the app on my iPhone and it displays the fuel and load levels and estimated run-time left. (It basically mirrors what's on the built-in screen the generator.) One thing that surprised me is that there's a button to shutdown the generator on the app. It works, but failed on me once. All in all, based on my limited experience, I'd buy this again.

Lightweight, easy to start. Pretty quiet but not as quiet as I thought, but still very nice and easy to use. Bad storm last week so we used it and it got us through.

Very portable and helped with limited appliances
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to run 2 sump pumps yesterday during a power outage and it saved me! The bluetooth connection was a snap and allowed me to check the status while inside. The unit is very portable, but not super quiet. I don't have any other generator to compare it to, but I guess I was just hoping for something extremely quiet... which probably doesn't exist. This unit was easy to start and was able to handle 2 sump pumps and 2 phones. I ran into some issues with lights dimming so just keep that in mind when you're planning which appliances to use. You will need to pick/choose a few appliances at a time.
