AnswersHello yankee19. If you need parts to fix it, you need to contact ryobi. Just remember, by the time you get the part, pay for it and the shipping, and put in the effort to repair it, you can buy a new one. Or if you want, you can spend a bit more and get a much better sander, like a Makita.

AnswersYou are correct. I do not know why as you say, it is labeled a SHEET sander when it is NOT. This sander uses DISC type sand paper. I hope HD reads this reply so they can correct this description. As for the sander, it works great! Be sure you select the correct grit for your sanding job.

Great orbital sander
Purchased to do a live edge bar top after another brand sander stopped working trying to remove stain that turned out horrible, I ended up torching it, then epoxy. I wouldn’t have been able to remove the stain and have a nice smooth, even top with out this. I was really impressed by how well it works. The dust collection is great.

Bad design makes it not worth the money.
Have had this for a few years for very small projects, and put up with various issues, but now that I am doing more woodworking, I want something easier and better designed.
First big issue is the dust bag. It does not stay on the sander. Duct tape will work for a while, but what kind of solution is that? I thought maybe mine was defective, so I bought a replacement bag. Same problem.
The bag also does a very poor job of collecting the sawdust when it does stay on. Dust squeezes out of the sides of the bag as though it isn't even there.
Finally, the power switch design is bad. There are two push buttons in the grip. Push the one on the left to power on; push the one on the right to cut power. When changing sanding discs, it is way too easy to accidentally turn the power on by pushing in the button on accident. Similarly, if the sander falls over on its left side, the power WILL switch on, causing the sander to bounce around and potentially damage other things. Mine ground an electrical cord nearly in two.
I just threw mine out and bought a DeWalt. Not much more cost and much better design.

User Friendly!, Well built! No Rattles!! It's not that loud, it is Inverter Generator Friendly as long as it is 120V, it's got a Powerful motor that really sands, flattens and smoothens the wood, I highly recommend to get more additional sanding pads in different grits on sets because this unit only comes with 3 pieces of sanding pads from 80, 120 to 180 grits only. But overall it's a great Value! I'm happy to have this orbital sander! Much more powerful than the Cordless 18V version of this!

Piece of cake.
First time ever to buy and to use electric sunder on the deck after spraying it with the Olympic deck cleaner. It is very easy to use at any angle.
It's not recommended if the deck is super big, messy, or has a lot of molds.
I both the 50 pcs sand disc (Diablo #80) because you need to replace the sand disc so often. Dust bag serves its purpose.
Again, I have no woodwork experience, I just watch youtube on how to clean the deck, ask a friend what size of the electric sander to use, and I accomplish my project.

I really expected to last more than 3 years
I very seldom (maybe once a year) use my sander and only use it for 2 or 3 days a year and probably only four hours at most in a single day. So you can imagine my surprise when the foam pad gave out. First there was a tear and then it just kind of came off. The rubber gasket, which is most of what fell off, is all cracked like it was a hundred years old. I have used Ryobi tools forever and up until now was pretty brand loyal. However, I think I'll buy a Black and Decker next time.

Right Tool for the Right Job
This sander was able to help us speed up a job while in the clutch. Our clients deck railings and post was weathered and needed some TLC. We first power washed it the first day and went to work with the oribit sander on day two. The deck looks new again. Wouldn't been able to complete the job as fast without it.
