The Honda engine is amazing! It started instantly at the push of a button the first time right out of the box, and every time after that. It is SO nice to not have to yank a rope 50 times to get it started (like my old Generac). Although I wouldn’t call it quiet, it does seem a little less noisy than other pressure washers I have used.
Setup was a breeze, and fortunately the unit was not an oily mess when it arrived (as some others have experienced). The unit is compact, sturdy, and easy to maneuver. There are a few minor items that Ryobi’s industrial designers need to work on, however.
In order to charge the battery, you need to get down on your hands and knees, unplug the loose wires going to the starter, and plug in the charger at the very bottom of the unit. It looks and works like a cobbled-together afterthought, and it would not surprise me if it were attached with duct tape. Due to the design and location, I’m pretty sure this will be the first thing to get damaged and/or fail. How hard would it have been to run some wires up to the top of the unit? And why require unplugging of the starter to plug in the charger? Cheap, cheap, cheap.
I also counted 25 labels on my unit, which did NOT include the only label I could have actually used – the nozzle selection guide! THAT was on a hang tag for some inexplicable reason. And why print the serial number on a label with a chrome background? That pretty much guarantees it will be impossible for anyone to actually read.
Granted, these are minute details that won’t bother 99.99% of the people that buy this unit; I’m just baffled that Ryobi would make such rookie design mistakes on such a nice machine. I would absolutely buy this unit again, and would recommend it to anyone.
