How many gallons of gas does the tank hold?

The specs show 3 year warranty but the warranty from Homelite show 2 years. Which is correct?

Asked by: etp1280
Thank you for asking, Etp1280. The warranty on this pressure washer is 3 years from the date of purchase. Our warranty covers for repairs of manufacturing defects. However, the Honda engine carries a 2 year warranty. I hope this helps and we appreciate your interest in Ryobi! -Keri

Will this remove paint from concrete?

I need to clean off the concrete from my swimming pool and would like to pressure wash it. Is it possible and what kind of tips are recommended? Thanks, Matt
Asked by: AskingForAFriend
I think it will remove it easily. The on board tip selector includes the 40 degree, 25 degree and zero degree. I'd start high and then go lower as needed but be very careful with the zero tip. Also, I'd recommend pre treating the paint with something like Goof Off or a latex paint remover to help soften it up.

What is it hard to pull the cable to start the power washer? I just bought it..

Asked by: Bianca
Like others have stated, pulling the trigger on the wand will release built-up pressure that causes difficulty in pulling the starter rope. As an indicator, you should feel/see the pressure shoot out of the sprayer wand once you press the trigger. It will be obvious. I also wanted to add that if you pull the starter but it fails to start, that itself will sometimes build up enough pressure to make pulling the starter rope difficult until pulling the trigger.

3,100 PSI 2.5 GPM Honda Gas Pressure Washer with Idle Down is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 2177.

I've had this for a few months and used it to clear pool/patio drains with the Drain Hog, pressure wash our house, deck and poolside. It starts very easily and I like the "idle down" feature of this engine. The built in attachment selector is genius and easy to use. We just took this to our large vacation rental home which has had a sorely neglected deck and siding and we used this pressure washer to clean the house before we painted and to pressure wash the deck. I also have a smaller electric Ryobi pressure washer that we took to our other house a few years ago. It's night and day the difference between the two. Both got the job done but this gasoline powered one worked two to three times as fast to get great results. I highly recommend. The ONLY thing I don't like is the height should be a few inches shorter because it won't sit upright in my F-150 truck bed and allow the bed cover to close. I took apart the handle and it still wouldn't fully close.

I used it once and it had oil leaking from underneath. I took it to a Ryobi authorized service center and they fixed it under the warranty. On the fourth time using the pressure washer the idle down feature stopped working. I took it back to the service center. They replaced the idle down part and now it won't run. They have had the machine for almost 2 months. Ryobi support won't address the issue. They say that I have to go to the service center to deal with the issue. The service center says they can't get anyone on the phone to discuss the problem. Most of the service centers on their website no longer repair Ryobi products because "they are horrible to deal with". I had to go to one 45 minutes from my home and I have been there 4 times with no solution and Ryobi support won't help. They claim to be an incoming call center only. They would not transfer me to a supervisor. The warranty might as well be 40 years because they don't honor their warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm happy It seems like the folks at Ryobi read all of the other reviews and took care of every issue. I purchased this and immediately put 5 hours on it. The first start up took a few pulls, but it fired up after a single pull there after. It took about a gallon of gas to pressure wash for 5 hours straight. The selectable nozzle is nice, though I found a setting and stuck with it. The hose storage is away from anything hot, and the hook ups are in a good location. I especially like the large wheels for moving it through grass. The idle down feature is probably where I saved the fuel. The next day I did another 2 hours. Machine worked perfectly. I almost rented, but glad I didn't. At $90/day I will have this unit paid for in less than a year; since I live in a mossy area with lots of hardscape. Keep in mind that I have only put two days on it totaling 7 hours...I would expect it to work perfectly. If it lasts 2x longer than the cost of a rental, then I will be happy. I will keep everyone posted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT PURCHASE Looked at this unit at Home Depot last year and purchased though the salesperson recommended the 3 year warranty as he had seen them come back with some frequency. This gave me pause but I bought with the warranty as the Dewalt was way too expensive for my use (motocross). The first unit lasted 2 weeks before an o ring failed in the wand. Home Depot wanted to exchange it but I bought a new $1 oring and fixed it myself. 2 uses later the pump failed. I returned it and got a brand new unit. The brand new unit lasted 5 times and then when i used it at the first race of the season the pump failed. This time Home Depot refused to replace it which I would not accept as this unit had less than 3 hours total on it! Finally the Store manager came out and agreed to exchange it. Used it for the first time today and it worked but I am not hopeful that it will last. Home Depot knows there is an issue but still sells and advertises it! The Honda Motor is great but the junk pump is worthless. DO NOT BUY!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't be deceived I bought this unit 13 months ago. I liked the honda engine and spent the extra to get it. I used it less than 24 hours over the summer and stored it inside for the winter with no problems. When I went to use it this year the machine wouldn't develop pressure These things happen it had a three year warranty so I brought it in. To my dismay the warranty doesn't cover the pump. Went with the technition to the sales floor and showed him the product with the three year warranty proudly displayed on their shelf with a two year warranty on the motor. If the warranty is for three years and it doesn't cover the motor, pump, hoses, and wand what does it cover? Answer: the aluminum frame and wheels The technition said he changes hundreds of these pumps. They fail so often that he keeps several on hand. The part cost alone was 146.00 plus the 36.00 diagnostic charge and another 60 ish to install. I said no thanks So just buy the dewalt if you want a pressure washer to last more than a season

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the Price Purchased a month ago to do recurring cleaning of large back-porch, circular driveway, and brickwork throughout home/yard. Easy assembly of the few parts that needed assembly. Started right out of the box. I do agree with other critiques that having a 50ft spray-hose would be better suited (especially since this is not the entry level washer from Ryobi and you are paying a higher price than competitors). But, that can be easily made up for by using a longer hose to connect the water source to the washer. The variable spray heads work great and I purchased the circular washer attachment (which I believe is a must if you plan on doing driveways). The only issue I have seen is that it sometimes takes 3-5 minutes for the washer to warm up enough to get full pressure to the sprayer. Other than that, I have had no issues after using this over 10 times already. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Literally fell apart! Bought a little over a year ago. Last Thursday 25 Jul was washing vehicles and noticed engine was loose. Upon examination 3 of the 4 bolts that secure the engine were loose and only one bolt was holding the engine on the washer. I tightened the one and found another bolt and secured the engine with two bolts. After further examination found that the govenor assembly had also came loose from the engine. I took it to the Ryobi recommended service center in my area. He called me today to come pick it up tomorrow 3 Aug. He said he never seen these things come loose in his entire career as a service rep. So, he was not sure if Ryobi would warranty this piece of equipment. So, I will write another review on the outcome. But, I must say that I do like the washer if it is fixed and warranteed. I still had a year and a half on my warranty. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pressure washer well worth the price. After my old pressure washer died I was in the market for a new one. After doing a lot of research, I ended up with this unit. The engine is top notch and very easy to start. The automatic idle down feature is nice and saves fuel. The all in one tip is a real time saver and you don't have to worry about loosing tips. I also like the onboard container for your soap solution instead of a hose, and it does a great job of mixing concentrated solution automatically. I really appreciate the small features that this unit has that others did not. For example there is a small bungee to hold the hose in place, the folding handle, all in one tip, idle down and the wheels are large enough to get the unit up stairs easily, and they do not require air. Also, when this unit runs, its very smooth and stable. It doesn't hop around like some units do. It is easily worth the price, and not to mention it has a 3 year warranty versus a 1 or 2 year warranty from the others. Overall excellent machine.
