Q:What does Battery Voltage Fault mean as an error code on the battery charger ? (48V, part #919481002). The manual says that's the code for 2 red flashes, and to refer to the Troubleshooting section. But there is no Troubleshooting section.

Answer This Question

A:  The error refers to the battery pack voltage being too low or high. Likely it's too low. The system won't charge if the pack voltage is below 36 volts. One bad battery of the 4 can cause this. Ryobi procedure is to remove the batteries and charge each one

A:  There is a troubleshooting guide for it. I think it might be online. But it states that 2 red flashes might mean the batteries are below 36 volts and the main charger won't charge them. It states to "charge them by other means". You might have to pull the cover off the batteries under the seat and charge them individually with a 12 volt car battery charger, then try the main charger again.

A:  Hello, Subverb - Thank you for your question. A:  1.Disconnect the battery wiring. 2.Pull the batteries & charge each with a 12 volt automotive type charger. 3.Load test each to see which is bad. I took mine to a local battery shop for testing. Replaced the bad battery and restored operation.

A:  my mower was a piece of crap and only lasted 100 days and I took it back and got my money back.

              by|Dec 17, 2022

A:  No, the system is composed of four 12 volt, 50 ahr. batteries wired in series to make a 48 volt, 50 ahr. pack. The battery compartment is sized for those four batteries. There are no 12 volt, 100 ahr. batteries that will fit in the compartment.

A must have accessary for RYOBI Electric Riding Mower for leaves cleanings
This is a great bagger that really does the job. I bought a RYOBI 30 in RYOBI Electric Riding Mower this past summer without considering of removing leaves. Later I came across an advertisement and got to know this accessary for the fall season. Just used it for the first time today and I was fully satisfied with its great design and user friendly. Strongly recommend to have one if you have large trees in your yard or neighborhood.

I love my Ryobi riding lawn mower
It's easy to use and looks good. A good addition to my gardening equipment. I'm happy with the way it works and battery lasts long enough to do all the work needed.

                        Battery Issues
Purchased the mower August 2021, worked great until September 2022 when i would be lucky to get 20 mins of mowing before the blades would shut off. I got the batteries tested and they are bad. The mower was garage kept and always on the charger, (21 hours of use). Read the other reviews. everyone is having the same issues. Oh and if i am going to replace the batteries every year, could they have at least made it an easy process.

Third review and each have disappeared
I received the 75ah 480e mower on 09/05/2020. Mower performed as advertised for the 3 months left in the mowing season. Mower stayed on charger for winter in garage. Next season mower would not cut as long. Checked batteries and they were above 90 percent health. Ryobi was good about sending me parts . First was battery gauge. Second was 2 controllers for blade motors. 3rd 2 blade motors. All didn’t fix . Mower at this time would last 30 minutes of cutting. 2021 season started with 30 minutes and in early May would only last 10 minutes. Took to service center May 18th and still no news on status August 8th. I have extended warranty. Ryobi needs to stand by their product and give a new unit when someone has this much problems with the mower. Looking at the reviews too many people are having the same issues. I know this mower will not stand the test of time. All 5 star reviews are on brand new units. This is my 3rd review and the other 2 disappeared, I wonder why? No response from Ryobi! Greg

No longer charges after less than a year
Less than a year since purchase it won't charge. RYOBI support sent a replacement charger which took two weeks to arrive and didn't resolve the issue. Now they are sending a replacement charging receptacle. If it doesn't work I'll have to take the mower to a service center. I will have lost at least a month of mowing time. I am disappointed. Oh and the bagger is terrible, though technically that is listed as a separate product and so should be reviewed separately.

Good Battery, good for my 0.75 acre to mow
This is my first electric riding mower, after reading reviews and watching youtube reviews, I decided to buy one. I have 1.25 acres and about 0.75 is lawn. I have hills and bumpy ground. I replaced a John Deer E130 22hp for the 50Ah Ryobi. I have found it mows well, it takes the hills and I'm able to mow with using only about 25 to 30% battery. It came with a mulching kit which works well. To note on Youtube the batteries seem to have an average life of 2-3 years, you can buy them here at HD.

2 years and still completely satisfied
I have owned mine for 2 seasons so far. Virginia mowing from April to October. Every week right at an acre. The battery could last 3 to 4 mowings. I have a small Ryobi electric push for the tight trimming. No gas, no oli, no noise. I am a huge fan. The crate was fun to get it off off. It was delivered without the charger. customer service took care of that, but that's how I know 3 to 4 mows no charge needed.

                                  Plastic is cheap
The first time I used it I was pretty happy for the first 3 quarters of my yard. But after about the tenth time of turning of the blades, then pulling the little handle back up to re-engage the blades it snapped. The plastic handle is super cheap and now I can engage the blades because the knob is busted off.
