Questions & Answers

Can this power a sump pump for a short period of time?

Can this power a sump pump for a short period of time?
Asked by: kevlac
Here is my answer to a recent question whether or not this inverter could power the Ryobi Hybrid Pump: "July 15, 2020 I have the pump but I don't have the inverter. I did a little test: I put an amp meter on the pump running on AC mode. The pump draws approximately 1 Amp at 125V, that tells me it is drawing at the rate of about 1/2 of the inverter rated capacity, so it should be able to run the pump fine. The test was conducted on a workbench, pumping water from one bucket to another and everything at about the same level. If you pump from a source below the pump and/or discharge at a height above the pump you will have a higher draw. Unless there is an extreme difference in height (which this pump was not designed to handle), it should be within reason." This answer is provided only to give an idea of the size pump you could run. Naturally, why would you want to use this particular pump with this inverter when the pump could run with its own 18V battery?

Will this act like an uninterruptible power supply? That is, when the power works, will it pass through to whatever is plugged in and when the power is out, will it auto switch to battery?
Asked by: necrodiety
NO.. This is a stand alone inverter,/battery not connected to any AC power supply.

hi what is the time running at max 300w 2.0 or 2.9a with a 6ah battery

Asked by: zeke
Ignore these other answers, as they do not reflect actual performance. Reality is you will get about 75% of the energy converted into AC power at 300 Watts I've tested this inverter with a medium load, 80 watts, from a box fan, measured with my watt o meter. Used an older 2.5 AH and a brand new 4.0 AH batteries. On the 2.5 AH, the 80 watt fan ran for 1 hour... that.s 80 watt hours of energy from a 100 watt hour battery (2.5 AHx40votls = 100 ). 80% efficiency. On the 4.0 AH, the 80 watt fan ran for 1.67 hours (80 mintues).. That's 134 wH from a 160 watt hour battery. 84% efficient.

will this run nebulizer for at least 5 minutes

will this run nebulizer for at least 5 minutes
Asked by: dan
As long as the nebulizer uses 300 watts or less it will power you unit. You should get 5 minutes for a treatment with out any problem, but if you have a 5 or 6ah Ryobi battery they will last longer (more treatments).
