Questions & Answers

What fuel should I use

Asked by: Rhd
My instructions stated no more than 5% ethanol. I personally would use non-ethanol fuel in ANY carbonated engine. Worth it in the long run.

3000 PSI 2.3-GPM Honda Gas Pressure Washer is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 1520.

I spent way too much time reading pressure washer reviews, watching YouTube videos and in general fretting about which one would be best for me. My major task was cleaning a 4000 square foot paver driveway. Would 2800 psi be enough? 3000? Would 3100 be that much better? Would it make any real difference at all? And what about gallons per minute? Is 2.3 enough? Is 2.5 that much better? And what about the brands. Ryobi, Predator, DeWalt, Stihl, Troy-Built. It goes on and on. You get the idea. I eventually decided it was impossible to know which one was better than another. In the end I bought this one. It was in stock, and I liked its color scheme (just kidding). The bottom line--I'm a happy camper. It has plenty of power, starts easily, requires no assembly to speak of, is light and compact, and the 5 position nozzle which I thought was a gimmick actually works very, very well. I also bought a 15 inch surface cleaner attachment which was a smart buy. It made the driveway cleanup twice as easy and twice as fast. I'd recommend it!

Bought this pressure washer earlier this year and got home and parts were missing in the box (the hose/the handle/the nozzle head, stuff you need.) Worked with Ryobi to rectify the situation, got the parts i needed and used the pressure washer for about 6 hours. Changed the oil, ran through the gas and let it sit for about 5 months. Went to start it up yesterday and nothing happened. Tried a few things and nothing seemed to work. Next logical step since its under a year old is to contact Ryobi for support...Lets talk about this great support they provided. Two days later they simply write back and say "call honda its related to the engine" fantastic Ryobi, I understand its related to the engine, but you put your name on this product and should assist with service of it, otherwise just take your name off this one and the future ones and let it be a honda product

I found several real positives with this machine after using it several times. It starts easy. The 3000 psi gives plenty of power (replaced my 2400 psi machine). The spray nozzle adjustments are convenient and you can change spray patterns in seconds without having to change nozzles or turn off the engine. That was a feature I used more than I thought I would. It is easy to roll around with large wheels and taller handle than most models (nice to have when you are 6'5"). I also found a couple negatives. The gas tank is small and only goes about 45 minutes before needing to gas up again. The hose is stiff and keeps wanting to recoil. Hopefully over time it will loosen up. The strap that holds the coil while storing it is pretty much useless. One strange step in the instructions when setting it up. It tells you to add the oil. Then the next step tells you to shut off the gas being adding the oil. Would be nice if they told you that first. Overall a good pressure washer for the money (Home Depot had it on sale for $70 off).

The assembly is simple but I did take time to read the literature that was supplied regarding safeguards. The engine started on the 3rd pull and I let it idle for a minute or two. Make sure to have the water hose connected and water to the pump before starting. The engine powers up when spraying and idles down when not spraying. Soap dispenser works to suit me too. I have a solid pea gravel drive that has to be cleaned yearly. My smaller power machine was a 1700 psi and electric which did a great job but took way too long. My first day impression is very favorable. No leaks and works as advertised. A Honda engine is a plus too and runs smooth with no vibration. The unit stayed in place and the high pressure hose is long and makes for easier cleaning without constantly moving the whole unit. I cleaned some really nasty stuff from the drive and the soap made it much easier to remove. So, as of right now it's all good. My 10% military discount made it a better deal too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied I have several of Ryobi 18v tools and very pleased with their power and durability. I have used these for many years, going back to the old blue tool color. With this pressure washer, Ryobi with a Honda engine, it was the best I could find. I waited about a year to write this review (everything works good new), and after a year, I am still pleased. I used it about a 15 times last year, put it up for the winter and used it again last week. It took about 10 pulls to start (after sitting for 6 months) and after that it started on the first pull every time. I always use pump protector after each use, even if I plan to use it the next day. I also use gasoline stabilizer in all the gas I put in it. I bought a 15" circular surface cleaner attachment along with it and together they make driveway / sidewalk cleaning quick and easy. Again, very satisfied. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I was very unhappy with the nozzle selections and the fact that the High Pressure attachment was available if you wanted to purchase one, but not included. The reason I purchased a pressure washer is because I wanted a high pressure unit for cleaning outdoors. Why would you not include a high pressure attachment to a high pressure washer. Makes no sense also and more importantly you didn't have one on your shelves to buy and nobody in that department could tell me how to get one and what the price was. If the unit was not on sale I would not have purchased it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 12 Hours so far and somewhat satisfied. I purchaced this about three weeks ago. I had to return the five way spray nosal as the most inportant spray angle used had a nick in it and caused it to leave a uncleaned streak when cleaning. When looking online I noticed that there was a clear hose and a blue attachment for which I thought was a oil drain helper. It turned out it was just a oil fill and small funnel for the provided oil.( My pressure washer came with a cardboard funne) I was thinking this because the manuel says that after 5hrs. of operation the oil should be changed. when tilting the unit to the side to drain out oil the wheel is directly in the way. Maybe an oil fill screw in part with attached clear hose would be greatly helpful. The wheels are kind of loose/slop and the spray wand holder needs to be desighed better to hold it into place as it hits the ground. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I was never a fan of Ryobi tools but was told recently they have improved drastically, so I gave them a chance. And with this pressure washer having a Honda engine and great reviews how could I go wrong. I got 2 hours out of it the first day, took a break, fired it back up and no pressure. got tired of messing with it and put it away...SHOULD HAVE RETURNED IT THEN. Fast forward 2 months later and now it wont start. This is now a $350 paperweight with wrapping still on it taking up space in my shed as Home Depot only offers a 30 day return on it. I will never go back to ryobi and am really starting to question gas motors from Honda. What a waste of hard earned money!!!
