Skeptical after stalls and leak!
I just got this today and set it up per the instructions for its first use. I used it to wash a small patio I did this week to see if it cleaned anything my 1,700 PSI washer didn’t. For the most part it seemed to do a good job however it repeatedly stalled during use. I then did my garage door since it was dirty and again it did a good job however when I went to put the machine away I noticed it had leaked oil onto my driveway. I’m going to give the machine another shot but I’m skeptical.

Good but with a few design issues
The pressure washer works well but it has two design problems. The pump connections are too close to the ground. As other people have noted, if you aren't careful when you tip it and move it you will break-off the water supply. I corrected that problem by making 3" stand off mounts where the unit attaches to the frame therby raising the connections off the ground. Also, there is no shutoff for the soap dispenser. I cut the plastic tubing and added an inline plastic valve with 3/8" push fittings.

    Great Product!
The negative reviews on here are just from people either not understanding how to use it, or not spending the time to figure it out. You have to experiment with different ways of strapping and holding. Once you find a good balance it is effortless.

      Broke on second use.
This unit broke the second time I tried to use it. As soon as I cranked it, the cleaner injector port snapped, resulting in water shooting from the pump. The metal port broke off inside the pump. Very disappointed in the lack of quality here.

Nice design and a Honda engine!
I ordered this Ryobi pressure washer to replace one that I've had for years and the Ryobi is a big improvement. The 12" wheels roll easily and the padded handle is very comfortable, these two features make a long day of pressure washing almost enjoyable. The Honda engine starts easily and runs strong. The onboard soap tank eliminates the need to carry around a separate bucket of soapy water. There are handy brackets for storing the hose and wand on board. I really like that you can change the pattern and forcefulness of the spray by simply turning the selector on the end of the wand, no need to change nozzles and no chance of losing a nozzle. It's a very nicely designed and manufactured tool.

I was really looking forward to using this pressure washer. I was excited about the nozzle dial figure (which could really be a game changer in my opinion), and the easy start Honda engine that it has, is always reliable. It started on the first pull. I'd give both 5 stars. I am very interested to see how long the .25 gallon tank runs for. My Generac pressure washer has a gallon tank on it, and runs for about 2 hours per tank. However, that's where the good ends. The first problem I encountered was during setup step of adding the oil (picture 2). The oil fill tube had a sign on it that said "Before First Use: Fill with entire 14oz bottle of provided oil". Well, they provided a 12oz bottle. The quick start instructions and booklet said "Pour all but 2oz of the provided lubricant into the engine through the oil fill hole". It also cautioned against overfilling it. When I pulled the dipstick, I noticed that there was oil on it. I ended up only needing 8oz of the 12oz bottle. I suggest adding about 6oz and checking the dipstick fromthat point on. Next, when I went to fill the gas, I found you either need to remove the wand, or go across the whole engine with your gas can (picture 3). Just not great when refilling a hot engine in my opinion. The biggest issue I had was when I hooked up the hose and turned in the water, it started blasting out from the pump. I flipped the unit up, and discovered that the thermal release valve has been cross threaded into the housing, and had a bad leak (picture 4). When I used a wrench to see if I could back it out, it broke right off (picture 5). I had trouble figuring out if the piece was plastic or metal. It's a very, very cheap metal. I found some youtube videos from people that had issue with it going bad, and breaking off as well. Looks like I'm going to have to heat it and use a thread reverse tool on it, or re-tap it (picture 6). Good news is, I see you can get those valves in brass online. I normally love Ryobi products, but this has been a total failure. It's really too bad, because it looks like a nice unit.

Not all Pressure washers are created equal. This RYOBI 3100 PSI 2.3 GPM COLD WATER GAS PRESSURE WASHER HONDA is a workhorse. It’s that wonderful Honda engine. It’s easy to start, keeps running and is easy to maintain. It was pretty easy to assemble, although one of the handle bars was slightly tweaked in shipment. The sprayer nozzle is also great. It has five settings that can give you a gentle spray to a geyser force. I cleaned my stairwell without any soap or bleach and it took off all the green mold and hard to get off first. I also cleaned around the door with a lighter stream and no paint of anything but dirt was remove. I cleaned off my patio furniture and remove overgrown debris from my patio. Outstanding pressure washer.

I have a pressure washer that is over 13 years old and I wanted to upgrade to a unit with an onboard soap container and an adjusting spray tip. Overall, I liked using this pressure washer, I selected this model because it uses a Honda engine to power the pressure washer. My old pressure washer and mower both use the Honda GCV160 engine and they run just as good as when they were new! Honda small engines are easy to maintain and start on the first pull. This unit generates a lot of spray pressure for easy cleaning. The adjustable spray tip is nice when you are going back and forth between soap and rise settings, you don’t have to exchange fixed width spray tips. but if you are going to be spraying using only a single rinse setting, you might want to use a separate fixed width spray tip, it will be lighter to use if you are reaching with the spray wand. I typically spray my windows in the spring, and I can be on a ladder for the second-floor windows. The onboard soap container is convenient. You don’t dilute the pressure washer soap, just pour it into the container. The pressure washer mixes the soap at a 20:1 ratio, so make sure you use a concentrated soap made for pressure washing applications. My old pressure washer uses a suction tube that drops into a gallon container sitting behind the pressure washer. If I need to move the pressure washer, I have to take the tube out of the soap container and move it separately. Features that I didn’t care for were the plastic Wand/Hose bracket on the handle. With outdoor power equipment, you can count on plastic becoming brittle over time. The hose strap is alright for long term storage, but it connects to the plastic piece on the handle. I have included a comparison image of my old metal pressure washer Wand/Hose bracket. This bracket will outlast the pressure washer and makes hose storage easy. Lastly, the hose intake placement is too close to the ground. (See Image.) If you are working on a flat surface you can move the pressure washer with the hose attached. You need to go slow! If you are moving the pressure washer around in your yard, it is easy to have the hose catch on high spots. Ryobi may want to move the hose intake to the side or move it higher on the pump? If this is your first pressure washer, I think you will be happy with the performance of this unit. The 2 items listed above are more annoyances then problems with the product.

The Ryobi 3100 psi, 2.3 gpm pressure washer with a Honda engine works great. I have to say that getting this power washer ready for use was a breeze. The handle snaps into place easily. The high pressure hose attaches to the wand and then to the pump. The tip that comes with the power washer is adjustable to different settings depending on what you are cleaning. The most important thing is adding the supplied oil the the Honda engine before starting! The washer also comes with a on board reservoir for using soap products. Do not put bleach in your reservior! You can use a pump up sprayer to apply bleach to siding and fences, then use the power washer to clean it. The instructions for use and assembly are easy to follow. My power washer started on the third pull, easy peasy. If storing in your garage in northern climates there is a pump additive to protect your washer from freezing and cracking. I learned the hard way with my old power washer. I have included a video that shows the tip and the settings on it. Great machine!

What a pleasure it is to find a product that is easy to assemble and does a great cleaning job when it is ready to use. This RYOBI gas-powered washer has an adjustable nozzle that works well for small areas, such as cleaning stains on the exterior of the house. In addition, the spray can be increased to provide extra strength for large areas, such as removing dirt and mildew from the pavers on our driveway and walkway. There is also a soap dispenser to use when washing cars.
