Ryobi has a pretty awesome line of tools that one can use for various home improvement purposes. I've used this same tool before but the electric version so checking out the Gas version was of great interest to me. It should go without saying that the electric version is less maintenance than the gas version and that was my experience as well. The electric version just needs to be plugged in and it "just works" once everything is hooked up. The gas version brings more complications with a fuel pump and maintenance that comes with a gas powered engine. For those of us less handy folks, I'd recommend the electric version. However, functionally this performs well compared to the electric version. Ryobi does a great job yet again.

This is a powerful pressure washer. It was easy to assemble. I had mine put together within 30 minutes and wash pressure washing my house. It really blasts away the grime from cement, but can be adjusted to clean painted wood without damage. I particularly like the all in one nozzle that allows you to select how much pressure you want to spray with. You don't have to switch out nozzles to adjust the spray which is so convenient. I also like that the gas tank has a fuel screen to keep the gas clean.

This Ryobi 3200 PSI pressure washer arrived in good shape and required only a minimal amount of assembly. Insert an axle pin thru each wheel and secure with a cotter pin, slide the handle into place and secure with two spring-loaded pins and install the hose carrier. Took all of 5 mins. The hose carrier has a nice feature, too...the included bungee strap that keeps the hose in place. No more fighting to keep the hose secured to the machine. I also like the large diameter wheels. It makes moving the machine over rougher terrain a breeze. And they're solid wheels so no worry over them going flat. The pressure wand includes a nice 5-in-1 nozzle. Just rotate the nozzle to select the setting you'd like. The fit and finish of the machine is first rate. Everything looks good and fits together well. Prior to starting you'll need to add engine oil (included!) and gasoline. You'll need just about the entire bottle...but not quite. Leave just a little and check the dipstick. The machine includes a paper funnel but it's pretty much useless. It's probably best to use a long-neck funnel for the oil. The oil fill location is right behind the left wheel and it's kind of difficult to access. It would be easier to remove the wheel when filling the oil but I didn't. Just put most of the oil in and check it as you go. Once that's done, add gas. The 196cc Kohler engine fired on the first pull. Make sure you connect your water supply and turn the water on prior to running the engine so as not to damage the pump. It includes an on-board tank to hold soap or your preferred cleaning solution. My only criticism of this machine is with the wand. It has a lockout lever to keep the wand from being activated. Why? It would be far more useful to have a lock that would allow the user to press the wand trigger and lock it into the "Spray" position.

I already own the less expensive electric Ryobi pressure washer and have had it for about 10 years with no problems so I'd be willing to bet this one will be the same way. I needed a more powerful one to reach higher on my house before painting. The only "problem" I had with the electric one is that people kept losing my nozzles. This version fixes that problem by making a single nozzle for all the different pressures. See the picture I attached. I love the round attachment for cleaning concrete. I guess you could use it for a lot of other things too but it seems the pressure is best for walkways. It was easy to assemble. You only need to attach a few things and it's self explanatory. I didn't even need the directions. You'll need you own screwdriver and either a pair of pliers or socket set but I'm assuming anyone wanting a gas powered pressure washer is going to have those things. It took me about 15 minutes to assemble it and 30 to use it after adding oil and gas.

I since have well over 100 trouble free hours using it. I've cleaned numerous driveways with a surface cleaner and always maintains consistent pressure. I let neighbors borrow it and they never have problems with it. I use regular gas in it and let the engine run dry when storing the unit. Still starts on one or two pulls of the cord. The complaints I have are the gas tank which is too small, only allows for about 45 minutes of operation per fill up, and I really wish there was a way to drain the oil from the engine without having to pour out the servicing port. Another complaint is the pressure hose ends will corrode easily, so gotta keep them cleaned and dried after use. Other than that, I am very pleased with the purchase and the continued operation of this Pressure Washer. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend.

Right off the bat I'm going to say I'm incredibly suspicious of the ratings on this pressure wash...
Right off the bat I'm going to say I'm incredibly suspicious of the ratings on this pressure washer. The engine is a Kohler but I looked up the model number on the water pump and everything I am seeing says this is a MAX 3000psi pump rated at 2.5GPM made in Vietnam. I've included a picture of the tag on the pump so you can see for yourself. So, how is Ryobi rating this as a 3200psi pressure washer? At least they downgraded the GPM from 2.5 to 2.3. That part aside, on to the assembly process. This pressure washer is pretty easy to put together. All I needed was a flat blade screwdriver, Philips screwdriver, adjustable wrench, and a funnel. The wheels are held on with funky spring clips I've never seen before. The flat blade screwdriver helps with getting them to slide over the wheel axle. The instructions aren't very clear on where the spacer washers should go so I put them under the spring clips. The top part of the handle installs just by sliding it down onto the lower section and locking it in with the push buttons. Pretty simple. And then the hose holder just screws on with four through bolts. Here are the things I like about this pressure washer. First, the upper handle can be completely detached from the lower half and not just folded over. I like this because when I need to put it in the trunk of my car I can take it off completely so the trunk lid can close. Second, there are two oil fill plug/dipsticks. I've never seen this before on a small engine but it's nice because one fill plug is difficult to get to with the wheel installed. But the other fill plug is much easier to get to and to get a funnel into. Why did Kohler put two fill plugs? My guess would be to accommodate different mounting configurations. Third, the multi-selector tip is pretty small for tighter areas and appears to be completely made of metal. Fourth, it has a fuel shut off valve. Having the shut-off valve makes it much easier to drain the fuel for storage prep. Fifth, the tube that carries detergent to the pump doesn't rub the ground when being moved around. Sixth, the 3000/3200psi pressure rating *feels* pretty accurate. I don't own a tool capable of measuring the true pressure output but I've used pressure washers from 1800 psi to 5500 psi and this feels about right for a 3000/3200psi rating. There is quite a bit that I would personally change or improve on this pressure washer. In no particular order; I would swap the spring clips on the wheels with regular old hitch pins. If you put hitch pins on you can quickly remove the wheels for storage. The gas cap has a ball chain that holds it in place but mine broke away from the mount inside the filler neck as soon as I opened it. The connection needs to be reinforced or the ball chain substituted with something else. I will/would add a fuel filter. There is a mesh screen inside the filler neck, but it's easy for debris to get past them if they move. A cheap inline filter works wonders on improving the life of these cheap non-serviceable carburetors. The elastic "hair tie" that holds the pressure washer hose in place won't last long. I've seen these used before and they eventually stretch out and become useless and then snap. Something better is needed. No cheap plastic funnel is included to put the oil in. The garden hose fitting uses dissimilar metals so eventually the female coupling is going to freeze in place if it sits for too long and will be nearly impossible to spin. It has happened to me before. I plan on occasionally spraying a corrosion inhibitor into the back of it. Overall thoughts, it's a decent pressure washer for the homeowner. The engine is obviously a Kohler but I'm skeptical about what appears to be a generic pump. The pumps are almost always the first thing to fail. Keep the fuel fresh and the oil changed and the engine should last many years.  Another tip if you haven't owned a pressure washer before is to put a little bit of Vaseline on the rubber o-rings and metals threads before assembly. Not a lot. just enough to coat them all around. Otherwise, after a few years of being assembled when the time comes to replace the hose or the handle it can be a real fight to get them separated.

The RYOBI 3200 PSI 2.3 GPM Pressure Washer comes nicely packaged in a heavy box. Get help lifting it! Assembly was simple and only took about 10 minutes. Add oil and gas, connect your hose and you are ready to go. The 196 cc Kohler Gas started easily and ran strong. The 5 in 1 nozzle is great, except after being used for a bit and laying the wand down in the driveway, the markings for the nozzle positions became difficult to read. I think they should protect the lettering better. Unit is super powerful and easy to use, it works quite well! Winding the hoe back up on the holder was a bit of a challenge. I will be purchasing the 15 inch surface cleaner to round out this item. Great machine and I love the color!

I live on several acres and I am often doing work around the property which inevitably drags dirt and grime around the property. After doing work around the house, I often find myself in need of a pressure washer to clean things up. A regular garden hose is usually not up to the task so I’ll take out the pressure washer. I currently have a pressure washer but this RYOBI 3200 PSI 2.3 GPM Cold Water 196 cc Kohler Gas Pressure Washer provides a stronger spray than the one I currently have. When I received this pressure washer it was packaged disassembled, but assembly was simple. All I had to do was attach the wheels, handle, hose caddy, and hose and it was complete. Once it was assembled, I felt that the pressure washer was sturdy and felt heavier than my other one but with the large wheels and high handle it was easy to move around. The engine comes empty of gas and oil but the oil is included in the box. The engine takes regular gasoline as long as the ethanol content is 10% or less. Once I filled up the gas and oil, I pulled the rope starter and to my surprise, it started on the first pull. The engine ran smoothly right away. The spray nozzle has a rotating selector which allows you to use different nozzles without changing the small tips which can easily be lost. The selector has a 0°, 25°, 40°, long range soap, and short range soap settings. I think this selector is an excellent feature. The pressure washer also comes with an onboard soap tank which mixes the soap and water at the proper ratio. I then set about cleaning off one of my sidewalks which was coated in the red soil that is all over my property. The pressure washer made quick work of the dirt. I was very impressed with the performance of the pressure nozzle and the engine. The hose included with the pressure washer is 35 feet long so it allows you to move around quite a bit without having to re-position the main unit. I have not used the pressure washer extensively yet but I am impressed with its’ performance and would definitely recommend it.

The pressure cleaner, was quieter than I thought and worked really well. I really liked some of the features for example I like to use it to wash my car and it has a soap container that dries the soap out of the container onto the pressure washer. It has a hose holder on the top handle so you just wind up the hose into a circle and hold it up there with a little bungee cord attached to it. Another great feature is on the end of the pressure spray wandInstead of having to change the bid every time you want to change the spray you just turn it to a different setting. It rolls nicely because of the large wheels and if you see the pictures right foot below it has a on off switch for the engine and the gas and a very accessible dipstick for the oil.

There’s a lot to like about this Ryobi Pressure Washer. Assembly was easy requiring only a Philips screwdriver and a 10 mm wrench to mount the brace to the handle. Just about everything else snaps into place. The wheels are secured by rather sturdy hair pins. There is a operator’s manual in the form of a booklet booklet and a poster sized page of detailed drawings that references the booklet’s page number where each assembly operation is further explained. A strange part of the assembly involves putting all but two ounces of the included small engine oil into the Kohler engine. Taking my time, the Ryobi Power Washer was ready to go in less than 25 careful minutes. The Kohler engine started easily and runs with plenty of power. It’s noisy but still seems quieter than what I am used to. The hose is Ryobi Green and well, you’re not going to misplace it. There’s a stiffness to power washer hoses that is unlike any other type of hose, but this one seemed a bit easier to manage. A simple stretch cord keeps the hose secured to the handle and prevents unraveling during storage and transport. The wheels are large making transport easy while providing plenty of stability. The siphon hose is positively installed and not just inserted through a hole in the reservoir cap. The soap cap snaps on and off and makes life simple. The cap is tethered to the tank, so it’s not going anywhere. The selector nozzle lets you easily choose your spray setting and a simple twist provides the spray pattern you desire. Nice. No nozzles to switch or misplace. If you’ve ever shot a nozzle out of the end of the handle you know how nice this feature really is. You may still need to twist the nozzle assembly to properly aim the spray fan. I’ve already used the Power Washer to remove some left over ice melt from the deck surface and I have a plan to use it to remove 9 years of road grime from my aluminum utility trailer. This thing is easy to use and really runs well. It has me looking for jobs to do.
