Fix my 17 yr old pressure washer or buy a new one?
I decided to buy a new one mainly because I was tired of putting air in the tires of the old one as well as it needing some repair attention. ;) Happy I did. I've had this pressure washer for a couple months and no real regrets. I like the large diameter wheel/tires and the reliability so far. I thought I'd like the built-in soap container better than the hose you simply drop into the jug on my old one but it has a downside, needing to clear it out before switching to a different "soap" solution for different uses. Still it's better than the tube in the jug bit because this moves with the pressure washer and can never "walk away" from the soap source. The only thing I don't really like is the stiff hose. It's nice that it's lightweight compared to my old washer's hose but I think it will wear through over time, something my old one has never done. One other issue is the difficulty of access to the oil filler for the initial fill. They include a paper funnel to use but it's barely adequate. So far I love the rotating quick change nozzle, much more convenient than having to change actual nozzle tips. The big bonus here, if you haven't had one before, is the surface cleaner. These accessories are great at making flat surface cleaning a lot less messy and being able to cover a wider area in less time. Mine has had about 15 hrs of use and so far so good, just not crazy about the hose.

        1st time last time buyer
Everyone with a bad review is right about this power washer. When it works it’s great. But I shouldn’t have to wait every other day for the thing to work because that’s when it seems like it wants to turn on. Very disappointed as a first time Ryobi buyer and I don’t think I’ll be buying anymore of there items.

          Impressive, but poor design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pressure washer does an amazing job! However, the design is lacking. Assembling was frustrating, since the oil reservoir and dipstick are in possibly the worst location they could be in, behind the wheel. Aside from having to add gas, checking/adding the oil is the most frequently needed operation for any engine. Why make it the most difficult thing to do on an otherwise impressive machine? It's the reason I only gave it 4 stars. The surface cleaner also does an amazing job! I used it on the patio and driveway. The 5 selection nozzle is much more convenient than having to switch individual nozzles. I cleaned 3 PVC outdoor chairs that have been in the elements for the past 10 years. It did a wonderful job on them also. The hose is a little stiff, but I'm hoping that it will become more flexible with use. All in all, this is a great bargain, pricewise, for the equipment in the package. The 3200 psi washer, the 15" surface cleaner and the 35' hose.

While its premature to give this a 5 star rating, I will say it preformed flawlessly on the 1st project today... Started up on the 2nd pull, has great power, and functioned as expected. Used it for a solid 30 to 40 min. to do my front sidewalk. It's been 10 to 12 years since the last time I pressure washed this sidewalk. This equipment did a fantastic job and the rotary attachment is a serious time saver and it did a fantastic job.

The Ryobi 3,200 PSI Pressure Washer was delivered to my house in a box. It took only a few minutes to assemble it and then add the oil. I added the entire container of oil and yet the oil just barely registered on the dipstick? anyway, I had some extra oil so I added an additional 6 ounces to get it to the "full". mark. I used it for 2 hours non-stop last weekend and it worked great. It is fairly light weight so it is easy to move around. A long hose comes with it and the spray nozzle is super easy to use, switching between settings involves turning a dial (see photo). I also used the surface cleaner and it is much faster and better at cleaning flat surfaces than using the wand only. However, the surface cleaner uses a milder jet, so it didn't take off all the paint that I wanted so I had to go back over it with the wand.

This review is for the RYOBI 3,200 PSI 2.3 GPM Cold Water 196 cc Kohler Gas Pressure Washer and 15 in. Surface Cleaner Be careful taking this out of the box as there are parts in the plastic parking that you will need. One of those parts is the engine oil, so put that in first. This is so much more thought through than may current gas pressure washer. At last there is a place to store the washer hose. For what you get and how easy this is to use, this is a good deal. Ryobi is not the company it used to be before the buy out, its better all the way around. Also if this is your first over three thousand psi washer, be carful what you hit with it. It can tear a trench in wood.

We’re using this at an auto repair shop and it strips grease, grime, and oils with ease. The adjustments you can make on the wand with spray width /angle and intensity plus soap options, and also changing the orientation of the spray, are all easily and conveniently done. Operating the sprayer is easy and comfortable. It provides a nice length of hose between the unit and the sprayer, and has a holder for the sprayer hose with an elastic retaining loop that secures it to the holder for transport and storage. The unit feels well built and is easy to roll over, up, and down steps with its oversized wheels. Also feels well balanced and the push handle is at a comfortable height. Furthermore, everything on the unit is well laid out and marked. In case you’re a novice, the provided instructions are clear and concise with useful visuals. Using this washer makes you want to find projects for it. It’s just fun and simple to use with plenty of power for nasty stains and distances. It also handles soap well with a light spray and a more intense stream as options. Even comes with enough oil to fill your oil tank to full, while serving as an easy reference for its preferred oil. Naturally it can handle up to 10% ethanol like most modern cars. Finally, it starts right up. You don’t need to yank on it endlessly or with much force to get it going. The mode shifter, gas shut off valve, oil and gas fill locations and caps, etc, are also all easy to identify and reach. We haven’t had an opportunity to really test out the circular sprayer attachment, but it is very easy to install and also seems to be well made and smooth functioning. Simply put, we love this guy!

I will talk about the positive things first. It came in pieces but it was easy to put together and the instructions, in general, were quite clear. It worked well and I liked the surface cleaner which makes it easier to cover a large area. Now the things I didn’t like. When I put it together I found that one of the bolts to attach the storage panel was missing. I had 4 nuts but only 3 bolts. I thought maybe I had lost it but I searched everywhere and I’m quite sure I never got it. In the directions it says to add oil, followed by a note to turn the fuel off first. But as that note is at the end of the instruction, it is easy to miss if you are going through the instructions in order. I saw a question online from someone that had missed it and they were told to drain the oil out and do it again. In the instructions and the answer to the question it does not say why this is so important. The worst design feature of this washer is that it is really hard to add the oil. Unless you have a special funnel that is really long and skinny you can’t get the oil into the hole. I think they should have supplied a plastic funnel to help with this. I did the same as what I saw someone else comment online, and that is to remove the wheel. So right after I had got it all put together I had to take it apart again. I saw no other way to get more oil into the hole than on my garage floor! Then the next instruction is to check the level of the oil on a level surface using the dipstick, but you can’t do that with one wheel off! In the instructions they have “fudged” the image to show the oil being added with the funnel in front of the wheel, but it can’t actually be done that way. This is a really bad design. I would recommend that people only buy this pressure washer if you can also find a really long thin funnel first.
