Hello Newtopressurewashing! Thanks for choosing the RYOBI 3300 PSI 2.3 GPM Cold Water Gas Pressure Washer with Honda GCV190 Idle Down RY80942. Usually excessive smoke comes from the oil being overfilled. Place the pressure washer on a level surface and check the oil level using the dipstick. This should be done by cleaning off the dipstick and placing it back into the oil tank like you would in a car. Anything over the hatch marks on the dipstick is too much oil. If the engine is overfilled with oil, drain oil to within the proper range. An improper fuel/air mix can also cause the engine to smoke and the pressure washer will then require service. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please contact RYOBI Customer Care at 1-800-860-4050 and follow the prompts to reach a Lawn and Garden Technical Support Representative. I hope this helps and thanks for contacting RYOBI. - Eve

Hello Gbalk, The RYOBI 3300 PSI 2.3 GPM Cold Water Gas Pressure Washer with Honda GCV190 Idle Down RY80942 does not have a pressure adjustment for the pump. Using the different nozzles will effect how the set pressure is administered. You can also use an accessory for pressure control. The RYOBI Pressure Washer Flow Control Valve RY31019 provides adjustability from a light rinse to full power. I hope this helps and thanks for choosing the RYOBI Brand! - Eve

Agree with previous poster: aerosol type protector works fine but squeeze bottle type is a problem. Was able to make squeeze bottle work by compressing with channel-locks while pulling starter cord. However, once bottle is partly empty, this method stops working so aerosol is the answer.

What type of gas does this take What type of oil does this take What type of soap does this take

As far as gas goes I always have used PREMIUM in all of my machines, mowers, rototillers, snowblower, etc. My local gas dealer has PREMIUM that does have ethanol. As far as oil goes, Home Depot carries HONDA oil. Don't buy other brands. You paid a lot for your machine. Don't throw that money away by using cheap oil on a wonderful machine. Detergent: Any hardware store sells detergents for power sprayers. Avoid any detergent that contains SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE or HYPOCHLORITE - that's household bleach, which can damage your pumps, void your warranty, kill vegetation, and can make your wife's hair look really funny. My contractor fills his detergent container with DAWN dish soap and it does a super job.

Is a great machine and easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this machine and was able to clean my sidewalk

Bolts sheared off the bottom of the pump first time using.
First time using pressure washer I was washing my house. About an hour in, 2 Allen heads of the bolts shot into the ground and water was spraying everywhere. I am looking, but I can’t find my Home Depot receipt for this pressure washer to exchange it but I can’t find it.

Awesome Power and Features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very impressed with the performance and features of this machine. First off the 50ft hose is a huge time saver by not having to move the machine as much. The idle down feature when you release the trigger is much appreciated also. And the fold down handle allows for much more compact storage. With the 3 year warrant combined with the power and features, I believe it is the best value for the money for any pressure washer out there!

Game changer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my Ryobi gas pressure washer to replace my electric one. Let me just say I’m thoroughly impressed by quality of this pressure washer. My favourite feature is the “idle down” technology. I also like the big tires which makes moving the machine a lot easier.

Worked great twice then the pump housing cracked
I really like this pressure washer purchased on August 7, 2020. Great power and it started on the first pull every time. I followed every direction on fuel being fresh, checking oil, and using the can of solvent to blow the water out of the pump after every use. The washer was stored in a very safe, dry and warm location. I used it two different days about a month apart for a total of three hours. Given the poor reviews about the hose, i never used it. The nozzle, while a bit funky due to the size, adjusts easily. The water pressure and stream is perfect for each type of use. I like the handle folding down, but it's hard to roll the washer along without the handle folding over. Maybe next model make the handle snap into place in the upright position. On the third time - October 18, 2020 - I used the pressure washer, it had a series of pin holes or cracks in the pump housing adjacent to the water supply connection. It leaked with the water on, and shot out at an angle with the trigger on the handle engaged as the Honda engine revved up in RPM's. The leak actually had a great deal of pressure to it with a revved engine, and presented a hazard to anyone or structure in line with the leaking jet of water. Obviously this is a manufacturing defect on the Ryobi pump portion of the washer. After visiting Home Depot three times they finally made a satisfactory arrangement with me. There were mixed messages on the return policy on my first visit there, indicating there should be better training of service desk personnel. For gas powered equipment know that Home Depot only offers a 30 day warranty window. For expensive purchases the buyer protection may be advised. I have purchased a lot of Ryobi equipment from Home Depot. This was not the experience that I expected. I cannot recommend this high dollar purchase to anyone else.

Ryobi 3300psi pressure washer
I read through all the reviews, good and bad.The ppl that are having trouble restarting their machines probably just need to release the pressure by squeezing the trigger on the wand when starting. Also the person that had issues with not having pressure,You always have to prime your machine of all the air in the line before starting or you will have a machine that is not running steady and pressure goes in and out.The only issues I have with this machine is 1st. where the pump is mounted....I didn't realize when I was getting this pressure washer or I wouldn't have gotten it.Its very inconvenient to have to practically lay on the ground to hook up the water hose and hose for the wand then when I'm "dragging" this thing through the yard the pump is so close to the ground its hitting on all the rocks and debris which eventually is going to damage the pump and connections.Manufacturers should have learned years ago to stop mounting the pumps on the bottom very poor design they keep doing over and over really disappointing.2nd.The gas tank is way too small for this unit. When I spend this much money on equipment I expect it to be of good quality all the way around...the motor is good quality and fold up handle is great but its leaning forward and when the hoses are hooked up it requires me to lean it back and drag it backwards and then you have the problem with pump and hitting connections on the ground 3rd.poor quality hose and where the hose goes on the machine with the velcro strap is another issue very poor design for that much money. Ive used mine twice now and am ready to take it back and get a different design. Sadly I would not recommend this product to anyone

Very Good Pressure Washer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my RYOBI 3300 psi pressure washer with Honda engine about a month ago. It worked like a charm. This is an outstanding pressure washer for the price and what it does and what it can do. I washed my long driveway, Front and back of house exterior, front porch and back deck... I have a few power tools by RYOBI that works great also, so I am glad RYOBI made this quality pressure washer as well.

FANTASTIC
My Ryobi 3300 psi pressure washer along with the 15 inch surface cleaner arrived this past week. From the reviews I was a little concerned with assembling it, much to my pleasant surprise there is no assembly required therefore no tools required. Take it out of the box, lift the handle into position, pour the lubricant into the motor, fill the tank with gas and you are ready to go. The reviews also had me a little concerned about maintenance but when I got to checking into it this minor maintenance of the pump is suggested for all pressure washers regardless of brand. I do agree with the reviews that the unit has a very small gas tank. Our driveway is 130 feet long and it took over four gallons of gas to clean it. The pressure hose was also mentioned as a problem; I unrolled the hose prior to use and did not have any problem. SUPER performance
by 5staranyday
terrible 50 foot hose, already broke
The yellow plastic coating on the hose outside already cracked and revealing the nylon braiding inside. I am so surprised it is so poorly made and the hose is far from kink free too.
