Recently read a quote by Elan Musk that the Tesla battery packs should be good for about 1,600 charge cycles. Don’t see haw that is so much different than what the LPC12:batteries are capable of.
It's because these batteries don't last and Ryobi knows it. Do not buy this mower or any Ryobi mower unless you like dishing out $600 - $700 a year for new batteries. Their warranty is 1 year for a reason and they know that most people cant or wont remove the batteries to figure it out. They know this system doesn't work well and they don't care. EGO with their new Zero Turn will dominate this market starting in February.
YES! the Brinly snow plow does a fantastic job. I have now sold my gas snow thrower. Here is a link to my youtube video of it in operation. https://youtu.be/7pFmXZQxRu4
I haven’t looked but I assume they are staggered fore/aft (one blade an inch or so farther forward than the other) to allow the needed overlap. It’s just geometry : )...
Stretch: the instrumentation can be variably inaccurate. The BLM appears to use volts and amps. used to turn off the segments. A weak battery of the four can throw the meter off. I added an on board voltmeter to my mower to show voltage drop during use. I also keep track of the beginning and ending voltage for each use to get an idea of the health of the battery pack. The OP’s question points to a weak battery that can’t sustain a load properly. I had one on my RM480e and replacing the weak battery restored like new performance.
Bagger is additional charge of $299.
EastPenn responded with estimated battery lifespan. At a routine maximum 30% depth of discharge, they estimate 850 charge cycles vs. the 1,500 to 1,700 charge cycles for the Leoch batteries. So, the Leoch solution is currently a better one for these mowers.
Update*** hit 100 today on the meter... 100 hrs? Not sure but its at 100. Was mowing the yard with some leaves left behind from fall... And Unfortunately my attempts to self diagnose and fix my mower have failed. After cleaning the battery terminals, charge ports and motors... The mower died after 20 minutes. The first green bar was gone after only the first few minutes. It was almost 70 and I was hopeful it would be back to normal. Guess even after the sequence shows 48 volts it still must have at least one bad battery. Hope this repair doesn't take 5 or more weeks as I've seen other people comment, spring is here and my grass is already growing!
Howdy, I store my Ryobi in an unheated garage in Northern Michigan (-20 degrees outside at times) with no issues at all. I simply plug it in as the owner manual states and leave for the winter. After 2 years of doing so, runs like a champ and keeps the charge the following spring
Hi Yardbird, Well after 111 hours of use, my Ryobi electric riding mower no longer can drive forward or in reverse under battery motor power. Also the cruise control button function is inoperable. The machine can only be moved under human power. The battery is sufficiently charged and can intensely spin the mower blades. I also noticed that if the machine is left on, and I get off the operator seat, the mower will not beep, as it once did before. I remember from this forum that you had this similar issue. Did Ryobi ever help you get your Ryobi electric riding repaired ? Thank you.
