A critical flaw ruins its potential.
The issue is that the wires connecting the motor to the board in the handle are too short so there's not enough slack when switching between the pistol grip and straight positions. Eventually one of the wires will pull off the terminal it's soldered to. If you're able to solder, this is an easy diy fix though. The wire on mine came off after less than a month. That said, this is a solid little driver with plenty of power, metal gears, and good battery life (but slow to charge). Wouldn't recommend until this is addressed.

Home Depot does some major pushing of this brand and I have always been more of Black & Decker buyer. I went ahead and decided to try it out but I was not very impressed with the quality of the unit. The twist function is nice but not a factor in my purchase. I use this on small electronics repairs in my business and the competition has a light on the front that is detrimental to people like us that use this driver in tight areas. I was also discouraged to learn that the bits that come with it are not magnetic -- serious flaw in the packaging. Another competitor standard. There also is not anywhere on the device to store the extra bit when you are using the opposite style. The grips are nice and the button functionality is fair but I wish I would have purchased what I already know to be a faithful device.

Great and nifty little tool. Really speeds up the job when time is of the essence. The Quick Turn function is hands down the greatest feature of the screwdriver. When you're in a pitch just use the Quick Turn button and you've freed up some space to get things going again. This screwdriver works wonders on hard to reach places. Glad I have one. The only two things I'm not fond of are the bit holder, which is a bit wobbly, and the charging method. I'm use to 18 and 20 volt batteries so this will take some getting use to. So only thing I'm not particularly fond of.

Idea is great, really wanted to like this thing, thought it would be handy to have in the house for those quick jobs. Problem with it there are two bits, one flat and one phillips and nowhere to store the one you are not using. Why not put a clip or a slot somewhere on the device to hold the extra bit? Or better yet why not a two sided bit??? Not crazy about where the button is either, doesn't really allow you to hold the driver correctly.

This cordless screwdriver is just what I need for small projects around my house. My daughters have the same model and they love it. I am 63 yo and have Rheumatoid Arthritis in my hands and wrist so I have trouble using a regular screwdriver. Yesterday, I used the Ryobi screwdriver to drill small pilot holes then attached 10 window roller shade brackets with the screws that came in the package. It was very quiet, fast and effortless to use. No hand discomfort! No more dropped screwdrivers! The Ryobi screwdriver is small, lightweight and easy to operate. I love the magnetic bits- so easy to insert and remove. I also like the 2 position handle as it made it easier for me to install the shade bracket on the windows top frame. I wish I had this Ryobi screwdriver last summer when I was removing and replacing all of my kitchen cabinet door handles but am glad I have it now!

As a DIY person one thing you would not want to lose is your drill bits or accessories/attachments . This drill does not come with a clip like other drills to insert your unused drill attachments. This drill comes with 2 attachments that doesn’t go anywhere when unused. And if you’re looking for a drill that comes with a light to help you use the drill in dark tight spaces then go look for another drill because this doesn’t come with a light. The only thing that’s nice with this drill is the design where it twist from a straight drill to a ‘gun’ shape drill. Other than that i would recommend people to look for something else.

Overall it work well once you are use to the controls. Good things: -Strong dual speed motor. -Long lasting rechargeable battery. I use it for work off and on all day every day. The battery latest 2 weeks before is needed recharging. Bad things: -No clutch, so only one torque setting. You can strip screws easily if you are not careful. -bits are kept in only by a magnet and not a lock. The bit can fallout if even slightly binded in the screw when you pull back. Prefered changes: -No replaceable battery pack. It is a plugin charger. I bought 2 screwdrivers to have one on the charger and one in use. They are inexpensive and buying 2 is only half the cost of the standard industrial screwdriver. -Has a handle squeeze trigger. Prefer the thumb or finger bidirectional trigger.

I've had several rechargeable screwdrivers and have never been totally satisfied with any of them. Problems verified from the: size and shape; battery life (stored and working; power; charging time; and others. I bought this on a whim when my, well-known brand name tool, gave up the ghost. Did I need it, probably not. When I saw the price I grabbed it and took it home. I have now used it on multiple projects and am very impressed. Being able to use it as a straight screwdriver or pistol grip driver made it even better. This solved all my previous problems with similar devices and more. As technology changes, I will someday take another step upward, but for right now, this is one of my go-to tools, right above my workbench.
