A:  Hi Jonathan, the manual says 1800W for 3 mins max, or 1600W continuously. With a 1600W load, four new 6Ah batts will last about 28 mins. (4 batts)(216Wh per bat)(est. actual bat capacity 0.95 of rated cap)(0.9 DC-AC efficiency)/(1600W load) = 0.46 hrs

Good to Run Pellet Stove During Power Outage
I bought this for running my pellet stove during power outages, which I've never experienced for more than 4 hours at my current house. Bonus is that I can use it as a power source in my shed or yard, and I already have a bunch of Ryobi cordless equipment (some using the 40v batteries), so it all meshes. Wasn't sure if it would power my pellet stove, and if it would, for how long. So, when I received this power pack, I immediately set it up to charge the batteries. Okay, I will say I took off 1 star because it takes FOREVER to charge all 4 batteries (12 hours +/-). I might have done better to remove two of them and charge them with my individual charger while the power station charged the other 2. The next day, while the pellet stove was cold, I plugged it into the power station. Happy to report that the stove started (this is the time of most energy draw with the igniter and fans going,), and ran thru its cycle which was about an hour, before it shut down. The pellet stove is on a thermostat and the reason it shut down was because it hit the set point- nothing to do with the power station. After that hour of stove run time, the batteries had hardly any draw so I believe I could easily get 10 hours continuous running time, if not more (and of course, my needs would entirely depend on weather). The running stove did not in any way strain the power station so I am completely happy with my purchase. For those that didn't read the entire review - the only reason I took off 1 star was for time it took to charge the batteries.

            Not ready for real-world use.
This power station is not capable of running 1800 watt devices period. It consistently overloaded when trying to run 1400 watt tools. I used a kilo-watt to monitor watts and tried to us 1400 watt tools (according to the kilo-wat) while cutting, and the power station shut down. The fact that this is labeled as being capable of running 1800 watt tools is just ridiculous. After getting a “system fault call for service” error I happily returned it.

              Initial test
So I have 6 40 volt 6ah and 2 40 volt 4ah batteries. With full charge on all batteries, I ran 875W pulling 53% power from the inverter. I was running an oscillating fan and an oscillating heater. The 8 total batteries gave me ~90 minutes of runtime on these devices. Easy to swap batteries but how many full 40 volt 6ah batteries can someone expect to have? This could help in a pinch. My advice would be to get this only if you already use the battery operated tools (Mower/weed eater/etc…).

Inverter works great but batteries are too tall
Overall the inverter works well, tested with a 6hp shop vac and it had no problem running it, however I will need to return due to an issue with the battery. The unit I purchased included 2 6ah batteries and they are unfortunately too tall to fit in my 40v mower. This is the first product (5 40v and 30+ 18v tools) that I have had with Ryobi where the battery was an issue. The 6ah included is about twice the height of my 5ah and looks like it is not the other shorter 6ah that is available.

Hello, Grover - We apologize that the battery didn't work with your mower! Due to the size of the 40V 6.0 Ah battery (4.5 in. tall), it is not compatible with some of our 40V products, such as the models below.

A really good but pricey option for clean power
I love the concept of the power station. Clean power for all electronics with no fumes or dirty output like generators. Also completely quiet besides the small fan which makes very little noise. Power output is relative to the source so I have to say it's good. The display or app could use some upgrades. One or both should give estimated run time left, in regards to the current load. Giving the amount of time the inverter has been running means little. How much time is left could be crucial. There are also several huge issues in regards to charging the unit that could use some major/crucial improvements. Overall, I'm impressed & like the unit. I was on the fence about possibly returning it if I didn't like it but I'm satisfied. I do believe the price should be considerably less. The tool at $700 is pretty steep when an inverter producing 1800-2000 watts can be had for considerably less. I understand paying for the luxury of it being more portable & able to use indoors but considering you have to spend at least $150 more to get "fuel" for it, I believe either package of the inverter is overpriced about $200. That being said, I do still believe it can be worth that price for a small market.

My house is now powered by Ryobi!
This is awesome! My only gripe is that the batteries that were delivered, while all the same 6Ah, 2 were much larger that came with it. I plan on getting another to both counter the battery mismatch and to double the capacity.

                    Can Run My RV AC
Have you ever been camping in and it was still too hot to sleep after quiet hours and you can't run your gas generator? This is the solution. Now you can't run it for hours on end, but it's strong enough to knock off the edge in that hot RV after quiet hours. I love the easy controls in the app too. Don't even have to go outside to turn on the power anymore.

Powerstation falls short. Missed opportunity :-(
It came today! I've been waiting for Ryobi to come out with a large inverter / Powerstation for a while. Finally they have come out with a 1800W pure sinewave system that uses up to four of their 40V batteries. Unfortunately the product falls short. Here are my test results so far. I'll probably be returning the system :-( Pros: Nice packaging, 5 Year Warranty, hot swap batteries, can mix different size batteries, you already own batteries, Bluetooth App Cons: Can't Charge & use at same time, Only 2.1A USB, Can't run Microwave, Not 18V battery Compatible, USB Type C compatibility issues, Need 4 Batteries for large loads, Poor Display, No Watt meter, No MPPT solar charging. Check youtube for a full video review. I've returned mine :-(

The Ryobi 40 Volt 1800 watt power station is a nice item to have on hand mainly for short outages. The unit itself weighs about 30 pounds and comes complete with everything you need to get started. Included in the box are two 6ah 40v batteries, charging cradle and an ugly green cover. The two batteries will need to be charged so expect to charge at least four to six hours. I only got around to trying this thing out about ten days ago when we lost power for about 3 hours. I had just recovered from covid are there was no way i was able to get my full size generator going so this little guy saved the day. I was able to run my 65in tv and a portable heater and my laptop throughout the power outage. I also had an extra two batteries that i use with other tools. There are usb ports to charge cell phones and other electronics. There is also an lcd screen that shows battery life. Download the app as there are alot more features which are useful. All in all i am pleased with this unit.

The Ryobi Generator came neatly packed and protected in the box. Very easy to follow directions to get it charged and available for use. This is a lithium battery-operated portable generator. It comes with 2 batteries, but can hold up to 4. It has a plastic cover to keep it from getting wet. It weighs approximately 26 pounds and has an easy carry handle. You also have optional metal holders at each end in case you want to add a carrier strap for additional ease of portability. It has USB ports, 120V AC ports, and a work light. I like the LCD display as it shows battery life so you don't have to guess. It is bluetooth compatible by adding the app to your cell phone. You can check battery status, total run hours, settings, power shutdown and adding a second generator. Very modern!
