Fits Black 20 in Lawn Mower as well as 21 in
I saw all the reviews on the 20 in side discharge and knew right away that it wouldn’t work for the new 20 in black ryobi brushless mower. (Only works for the older green model.) This 21 in side discharge however fits perfectly on my 20 in black brushless mower. Also this really should come included and not extra but this will help save a lot of battery life ultimately.

Great except…
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Does a great job mowing and batteries just last long enough to complete my front and back yard. However, I am not happy with the speed control. I prefer accelerator control versus the cruise control slide switch.

Right out of the box, 21” mower was ready to cut grass. My yard is 1/3 acre, but approximately 1/4 acre of grass that needs mowing. The pair of 6a batteries needed an hour’s charge first. There is a “mulching plate” that needed to be installed prior to operation of the mower. It installed quickly. The side discharge was easy to use, but not necessary if in mulching mode. The rear bagger was easy to assemble and is quick to install. The blade is thin and spins fast, making excellent cuts upon the grass. The blade spins faster as the mower encounters thicker grass, nice! The height adjustment is easy too. The self-propulsion does a fine job but does cut into the battery life. Once finished mowing, remove the batteries and the mower simply folds up. This saves valuable garage wall space! No need to worry about leaking oil, nor spilt gas! The mower is relatively quieter as well. So far no issues with the blade cutting into the frame, but my yard is flat with a slight slope on the side yard. I do have other Ryobi 40v yard tools, a pair of blowers, pole trimmer, and chainsaw. All work well and the batteries are interchangeable.

Motor will not start unless the self-propel is engaged. Shuts off frequently. A good product, but fidgety, slightly irritating.
