I see that it's compatible with a solar panel. Can I recharge a 40V battery while it is docked on this? If so, how long would it take to recharge a 4ah or 6ah battery?
ONLY the USB ports are active when the battery is being charged via solar. You find that out in the fine print of the manual. No 120v power while being charged.

How does this new inverter compare to the older model (RYI300BG)?
Two standouts for me. The USB C is now PD, which means potentially higher output but also 2-way charging. The AC outlet is also now pure sine wave, which is more compatible and safer for some electronics and appliances.
