Great to Replace Gas Blower
My old gas blower did a great job, but I hated dealing with the gasoline engine -- mixing the gas and oil, pouring (and spilling) the mixture into the small gas tank, maintenance of the engine, and struggling to start the engine with the pull cord. With this new Ryobi blower no more of these hassles. And it has just about the same power as the gas blower. There are trade-offs, of course. This blower is quite heavy, as other reviewers have noted, and somewhat awkward to put on and take off. Also, although the maintenance is minimal, the batteries will have to be replaced at some point, and they are expensive (about $200 apiece). I might change my mind later, but right now avoiding the gasoline mess is worth the trade-off. I have several Ryobi 40-volt tools and I have been very pleased with all of them.

This blower is a beast !
If you are in the market for a backpack blower, then you should take a hard look at this blower. It delivers up to 730 cfm and runs on a 40 W 6 A battery. The back pack allows you to carry a second battery. The blower automatically pulls power from the battery with the most charge so you are basically able to use two batteries without having to stop your work. This kit comes with a rapid charger and two batteries. So, once your batteries are charged - which should take less than an hour each with the rapid charger - you are ready to go to work. This blower is promoted as being 85% quieter than a gas blower at 59 decibels. Be aware that this unit is heavy, with both batteries on board, the unit weighs around 27 pounds, The back pack is fairly comfortable with a lot of adjustments. My wife tried on the back pack and said it was too heavy for her, but suggested an adjustable waist strap in addition to the chest and shoulder adjustments. The backpack will sit upright on a flat surface, so I would suggest using a table or counter to put on and take off the backpack. It makes the process a lot easier. One last thing - thumbs up to Ryobi in their packaging - only recyclable cardboard - no paper, air pods or styrofoam.

Powerful and oh so quiet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this blower as an upgrade to my Ryobi ExpandIt blower attachment. Tried it out during spring cleanup and was impressed by the handling as well as power but most of all I loved how quiet this thing is. No need for ear plugs or anything. The blower has decent power when in normal operation and gets most dry leaves out of the way. I had to clear trimmings from a rather thorny rose hedge and used the booster option for this. It dealt with it no problem at all. I had the blower in operation for about 30 minutes and the batteries (two 6Ah batteries used) were still at about half power - this will be more than enough come fall for leaf cleanup.

    Plenty of Power
After using this blower 2 days now, I have found that it works well, and has plenty of power. Using blower with two fully charged batteries, I was able to get 35 minutes of continuous run time using the Turbo Boost the whole time. The blower is a bit awkward to use in tight places, especially in left hand corners. You can’t just switch to left and to blow out a left-hand corner. It works great in open areas. It has about the same power as my gas-powered blower. I am happy with the power and velocity of this blower. The manual says it will run for 2 minutes on the turbo boost and then it needs to reset. You can reset it immediately so you can really run full time on turbo boost. Once I got the harness adjusted properly, it is comfortable to operate for 35 minutes. Assembly is easy once you get the first tube connected to the blower motor. I found it very difficult to get the tube all the way onto the motor. It helps to twist a bit while pushing VERY hard. Once you get the tube on all the way, the rest of assembly is easy. The Torx wrench they supply to tighten screw on clamp did not fit the screw well. It wouldn’t insert all the way into screw. Luckily, I have a screwdriver with good fit that made tightening screws easy. Included are two tubes. You can use one or both for longer tube. Two nozzles are provided to adjust air speed a bit. Blower is rated at 140-165mph and 730 cfm. Ide guess those figures are correct. I would suggest, like other reviewers, to make the flexible tube a bit more flexible. I did not have any of the issues with batteries or run time that other reviewers have had. I believe this is an upgraded model with two batteries to increase run time. The battery charger seems to also be upgraded. You can only charge one battery at a time. It would be nice if it could charge both batteries at once. If you are only doing small, tight areas, A handheld blower is probably better. Overall, it is a nice blower for 35 minutes of heavy duty blowing. There is an integrated hanging loop to hang on wall. 5-year warrantee on blower, 3 years on batteries and charger. 21 pounds

A powerful Ryobi cordless backpack leaf blower
is 40V Ryobi cordless backpack leaf blower has some great features and although it is powerful, it even moved some wet leaves that were under my porch. While operating, it is not completely quiet - there is noise, but not as much as a gas motor. I like that there is a variable speed trigger with a turbo boost button that will run 2 minutes at a time. There is even a cruise control option with a lever that has 3 levels of speed. Assembly instructions are included in the operator's manual. There is also a manual for the OP06 battery charger and the batteries. The charger has LED status lights for Power on, Testing, Error, Charging, and Ready. It has a 6' power cord with a 2-prong plug. Each battery has LED status lights with 4 levels of remaining power, measures 7"x4.25"x4" and weighs 4 pounds. The blower unit itself weighs 21 lbs. (without the tubing or batteries), so it is quite heavy for me. It does have a hanger/handle on top, which is nice. Assembly was time-consuming because it was awkward trying to attach the tubes without the unit rolling around. Also included are (2) 40-V, 6 Ah batteries and a rapid charger. The charger took less than an hour to reach full capacity. I like the option to use one battery or both for larger runs. For me, I prefer using just one at a time since each battery weighs about 4 lbs. and the unit itself is heavy. I would recommend this blower for those that have no problem lifting heavy equipment and putting it on their back and for large jobs. For me, I would have liked it if it had an option to detach the vest so the unit could be hand held. The vest is just not meant for a small framed, 105 lb. woman!

HEAVY but works well, definitely quieter than similar blowers
Works well, just keep in mind this thing is a beast. It comes with two batteries because BOTH are installed at the same time. The "normal" mode is pretty strong, but the turbo mode is wicked strong (although you can only turn it on with a button for short spurts of time). It's definitely quieter than expected for the power, it's not likely going to irritate your neighbors. For the weight of it, I would have really liked to see a waist strap to help distribute the weight over your hips. Also storing this will need significant space, so keep that in mind. Overall crazy happy to finally have something to blow the leaves off my porch instead of constantly moving furniture and sweeping.

A powerful and quiet backpack blower
This is a very powerful backpack blower that does a great job without all the noise of a gas-powered blower. The noise is not the only thing that is missing. There’s no two-cycle gas/oil to mix and store; no choke and repeated rope pull starting ritual, no fouled spark plug or dirty air filter, and no exhaust fumes to inhale while you work. It comes with two large 40-volt 6 Ah batteries for an extended runtime. There is a variable speed trigger that can be locked at a set speed, and a fantastic turbo button for blasting away the big stuff. It takes about an hour to charge each battery individually in the rapid charger. I charged up the batteries and put both of them into the battery ports, adjusted the harness straps, and started blowing leaves, pine cones, and gum balls in my one acre yard. The blower did a terrific job moving this mess. I ran it at full speed and used the turbo mode about half the time. Total run time was 43 minutes. I then replaced the batteries with two 40-volt 4 Ah batteries from my other Ryobi tools, and 20 minutes later my yard work was finished. I am very satisfied with the powerful performance and quiet operation of this blower, and I’ll be using it every week to keep my yard neat.

Ryobi Brushless Cordless Backpack Leaf Blower
This 40V battery powered leaf blower has as much (if not more) power than the gas powered handheld leaf blower that I’ve had for years. This is a great machine! It is comfortable and well balanced to wear, easy to use, powerful and significantly quieter than my gas blower. It came with two 6.0 amp hour batteries. It requires only 1 on board to operate, but you can put both batteries on board to get really extended run time. I am really really happy with this blower. Clearing driveway, patio and sidewalks after mowing is super easy. I was blowing some damp leaves and tree debris in the yard after a storm recently, and it did an amazing job. I’m so happy I got this blower, never going back to a gas blower!

    Quiet, powerful, and long runtime.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me go over some of the features and specification's of this Ryobi 40v HP Cordless Backpack Blower Kit. This kit included the backpack blower, bellows, throttle control handle tube, straight tube, nozzle, 2x tube clamps, speed tip, assembly tool, operator's manual, a rapid 40v charger, and 2 6ah 40v batteries. If you buy this unit tool only then you will not recieve the batteries and charger. This blower has a 40v DC brushless motor capable of delivering 140 MPH without the speed tip and 165 MPH with the included speed tip with a volume of 730 CFM. Even with all that power the noise level is minimal like the rest of the whisper series products. This unit has a mesh backing with adjustable harness and chest straps to comfortably fit any range of body types. The throttle control handle is easily adjusted with the a simple turn of the nob. This tool has a variable speed switch trigger which means the harder you squeeze it the more power it will deliver. If you get tired of pressing the trigger you can switch on the cruise control to operate the blower without holding the trigger. This tool has dual sequential active battery ports on the left and right. You only need 1 battery to operate this blower. If you use 2 batteries then everytime you press the trigger, power will be pulled from the battery pack with the most charge. There is a Turbo button that when pressed will deliver the maximum amount of air flow for 2 minutes. After the 2 minutes you can press it again right away. I already owned 2 Ryobi blowers, a 125v A/C blower, and an 18v DC blower. Both have been great for drying off my car, cleaning up after I cut the grass, or just clearing off the porch and driveway. I decided to try this backpack blower for the bigger stuff. There was minor assembly required. You need to attach the 2 clamps using the included 4 screws and tool. I want to note, when you put the clamps on fully tighten one side before tightening the other. Making adjustments is very easy. Once you put the backpack on and adjust it, it is very comfortable. Even when you walk with it on you do not feel it moving or bouncing around because of the way they designed this unit. They used springs on the bottom that keep the motor housing moving with your body while you move.. I recently cut down a 46 ft tree that I planted in my mother's yard 30 years ago. It left pine, bark, sticks, and debris everywhere. My smaller units did not have the power to get it all but this backpack blower got everything. It was moving branches, rocks, pine cones, wood chips, etc. I used this blower in Turbo mode most of the time and got about an hour of runtime with the 2 included 40v 6ah batteries. I did landscaping when I was younger, and we used all gas equipment. There are alot of advantages to the battery yard equipment. They are much quieter so you can use it earlier in the morning or later at night. No more spending money on gas and oil then having to mix it or add it. Push to start starts everytime, no more priming and pulling the cord 5 times. No more tune ups with filters, spark plugs, and oil flushes. The best part is the performance of this backpack blower easily compares to gas powered blowers. If you have alot or heavy debris get yourself one of these backpack blowers.
