it would be used as a power source inside a building. construction site.
Asked by: Leslie
I say no for two reasons. Even in a construction site the carbon monoxide emissions will concentrate adversely affecting your subcontractor workers and the generator noise will be so loud indoors, it will disrupt all communication.

Since this generator runs on propane, is it safe to use indoors? Does it have to be outside the house for safety reasons?
Asked by: Homegirl
No. It is NEVER safe to run this generator indoors much less store propane gas indoors. The emissions of this generator will produce carbon monoxide gas which can kill you. Here is the reason why. Carbon monoxide gas has a greater affinity for the hemoglobin in the blood stream and will block needed oxygen from being carried by the hemoglobin. It is a silent process that causes oxygen deprivation. Not only must the generator be used outdoors, it must be far enough away from doors, windows, or intake vents.

I had an issue with it when lost its magnetism. That is a very rare occurrence with any generator and it is something that needs to be remembered when you get a generator as it can happen any where anytime. With that said . I like this generator very much now that it is functioning correctly. We have tested it with everything we have and I could not get it up to 6 kw, we only have 4 devices that get up to 1 kw each. a pump and 2 heaters a pressure cooker xl and a washer that has a built in hot water tank which uses 1,000 watts to heater the eater while washing the clothes the only thing I have bad to say is it should not take 3 to 4 months to have a unit repaired especially if it is under warranty. Were using a a 35 lb Propane tank and with a light load it runs for quite a long time..especially when using quick uses for cooking . To be honest I lost track of how much we have been using it sense the 2nd of November.

Our older generator is gasoline powered, I didn't even realize they made propane gas generators. Its a clean machine and it should stay relatively clean. I was really impressed with the attention to detail- an important mark of a manufacturer caring about quality for me -and husband loved the electric start. The wheels are solid, not inflatable - which is great. Step one for our old generator was "pump up the tires" and "hope they still hold air". Generators are heavy, to me, its better to buy a big generator just to have the wheels. RYOBI stands behind it with a 3 year warranty, they have a lot of repair location contracts - if you need warranty work you won't have to drive it halfway across the country. I thought it ran quieter than our gas generator - husband laughed because generators are noisy. When the electricity goes out - it is a very sweet sound:)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from RYOBI 6,300 Watt Propane Generator Finally an affordable propane generator without the bother and danger of storing large quantities of gasoline for emergencies. Having used a typical gasoline powered generator since our Florida hurricanes in 2003 and during subsequent power outages, the annual hassle of transporting and storing multiple cans of fresh gasoline is at an end for me, now that I have this RYOBI propane powered unit. And no more pull starting either, as the RYOBI has a battery powered push-button starter (see video). The unit comes packaged nicely with clear instructions; and just requires you to assemble two rubber padded feet and two solid wheels. The solid wheels are a plus IMHO as my old Craftsman generator had balloon tires that semi-annually went flat. There is a swing up transport handle on one end and a swing down tank support shelf on the other end (see photos). The engine end has a large air filter, as well a manual pull-starter if the battery is discharged (see photo). However, the battery will be re-charged as the generator runs. The control panel has a digital display with a selectable mode button for Voltage, Frequency, or Run/Maintenance Time. The panel allowed use of my existing 220 electrical house switch panel connection cable (see photo). The generator’s multiple electrical outlets are protected when not in use by flexible rubber covers that securely snap into place—a nice touch. All in all, and speaking from experience “the hard way” with gasoline generators, this RYOBI is win/win!
