A:  I think inflation and the country of origin is part of the issue. When Ryobi's first three 80 volt mowers came out, the prices for each were quickly raised by $2,000 each and have remained so. Lithium is scarce, so expensive.

A:  Based on the savings my RM480 has accumulated, it will take 6.2 yrs. to save enough in gas & maint. to pay for one of these 80 volt, 10 ahr. packs. 12.4 yrs. if the mower uses 2 packs. 18.6 yrs for 3 packs. Based on my cost of KWH & local gas prices.

A:  My RM480e saved $700 in 58 months. So 6.2 yrs. to save enough to pay for one of these packs. 12.4 yeas for two and 18.6 yrs. if the mower uses three packs. YMMV.

A:  The real answer is will they last long enough to pay for new batteries when needed? My RM480e has saved $700 in 58 months in gas & maintenance vs. a similar sized ICE mower.
